  • Can my boss fire me because I asked why the new girls get more shifts than I do?

I have worked in a waitressing job for almost a year and a half. My boss just hired three new girls, and they routinely get three or four shifts a week, while I will only get one. I expressed my frustration to my boss over this. Could she fire me?

  • Can I line the pieces of a coat individually as I sew it?

I have never made a coat/jacket before, but I found a pattern designed for “advanced beginners” and I want to try. The pattern is for a denim jacket, but I plan on making it out of corduroy. I would like to line the jacket with flannel (I’m aware this isn’t generally a recommended lining fabric) When sewing linings in the past, I’ve always found it easiest to add seam allowance, cut the pieces of the lining and the outer fabric, and then sew them together to make one piece before constructing the rest of the garment. I’ve never seen anyone do a coat like this. Is there any reason I can’t?

The pattern is for a denim jacket but I want to make one out of corduroy, witch a flannel lining. I’m aware flannel isn’t a recommended coat lining bc of its weight and smoothness, and that’s fine. Whenever I’ve sewed linings before, I’ve added seam allowance to the pattern pieces and sewed the lining to each piece individually, and then constructed the garment using those pieces. I’ve never seen anyone make a coat like this. Is there any reason I can’t?

  • I only break out when I wash my face.?

When I was younger, I never really had a routine for washing my face, and so I often just skipped it. I never got acne or pimples of any sort, and has perfect skin. This summer, when a friend found out I never washed my face, she freaked out over it and made me start a set routine. Ever since, I have started to break out. I tried many different cleansers and nothing has worked. I have stopped doing so since, and the break outs have mostly subsided. I ve always moisturized, but have even done that less since I moved from dry Wisconsin to humid New Zealand. My normal routine is to take my makeup off and clean my face with warm water in the shower, no soap. Is there any reasons I could possibly be breaking out because I was washing my face?I ve been left with scars I am not happy with, and I want to treat my skin right.

  • I'm often made fun of by my (naturally tanner) cousins for being pale. It's not racist, because they're not making fun of me because....?

I'm white, but because of how white I am. If it isn't racism, what is it? It's been going on for far to long and I want to address it with them, but by a more proper name then 'racism'.

  • Studying abroad in Australia - Packing Toiletries or No?

I'm considering studying in Australia for five months. I'm reading about what to pack and what not to - I've read some people saying not to pack any toiletries, because you can just buy them there and throw them out before you leave. Others say to pack them, because they're ore expensive over there. Does anyone know, ir have any opinion on this?

  • Are minors allowed to enter cotracts? *SPECIFIC SITUATION*?

I'm aware of the fact that minors are generally not allowed to enter contracts (I live in Wisconsin). I take portraits etc. of friends, family, etc. I often find that when I'm not paid, friends will post pictures I've taken of them on social media and not give my sufficient credit for my work. Although this isn't a big deal to most teens, I get paid for a lot of my work and except to be credited. As I am also underage, I can't obtain copyrights on my images. So my question, specifically, is would I be allowed to draw up a 'contract' of sorts making my models liable to give my credit in my photos? Nothing super in depth, I honestly just want to make sure I get credit. I feel that having models sign something would make them more likely to credit me. I would only take actual legal action under very, very extreme circumstances (Honestly, i can't even think of a situation this would happen). Thanks! I know it's a lot.

  • Should students be able to leave class to get medicine?

Sorry this might be long, but stick with me.

I get extreme headaches & migraines. In class today, I asked my teacher if I could leave to take my medicine in the office. She said no, that I should have done so before class or would have to wait until after class. I, however, thought this was rather unfair. (perhaps a better word would be inappropriate?) I had not had a headache before, and I'm supposed to take the medicine at first sign (plus it's hard to concentrate). So basically, I'm asking if you think I, as a student, should have the right to leave class and take my medicine.

Another note: This is a medical issue I'm being treated for at the Children's Hospital Pain and Headache Clinic. This happened in my Latin Class and has happened before in this class and others as well.

    Thanks for your Opinion!!

  • Important Question!!!!?

I'm writing a story where I compare the characters perfection to a china doll, and when she becomes 'not-so-perfect', I want to include the line "Well eventually porcelain (the doll's skin) _______, and glass (the doll's eyes) shatters. What should I say for porcelain. Kind of like how iron rusts, and silver tarnishes. Should I say 'smudges'?

I have an assignment in class, to get several impressions from people on an assigned topic. My topic is Wisconsin, the state I live in. We are allowed to get the impressions anyway we can. So, I'm wondering if you could tell me what you think Wisconsin is like. It can be the people, the land or the state itself. Also I need to know whether or not you've been hear before.

Teachers ex: 'The people in Wisconsin are to obsessed with Cheese'
