  • Why do parents name their sons women names?

I've met a Jasmin, Courtney, Shannon, Ashley and a yahoo answers question claims that they know a man name "Stacy."

The man named Jasmin said that his mother thought that he was going to be a girl, but decided to name him Jasmin after it was found out that he was a boy.

  • Is there a good MP3 player that keeps your personalized playlists?

I had a very unstable Walkman that would freeze up a lot, but it would take a lot of music. It regrettably no longer wants to sync in new music. I would combine all of my albums into one album, per artist, and listen to their songs in an order. All the first songs were together, then all the second songs, then the third, etc. I tried buying the most recent Walkman but it kept sorting all of my album in the correct albums. Do you know what I am talking about? Do you have any recommendations?

  • How do I tell a girl that I am not interested in her?

I am having problems with a female coworkers that won't leave me alone. I have never approached her. I have never chatted her up. I have never smiled at her. I have never gave her any indication that I am interested in her. She has never acknowledged that she likes me, but I can tell. The shaming, smearing, gaslighting, name calling, and getting others to fight her battles are a good indication. Not a good sign in a woman. I have been isolating myself to avoid her because I know how much problems a scorned woman can cause for male coworkers.

She has never stated that she is into me so I can't just turn her down politely without risking her having denial accountability. Since I like being employed, and I like my job, I am concerned my fears won't be taken seriously by my supervisors. My plan is to ignore her until she gives up. Any advice?

I don't want to hurt her. I just want her to give up.

  • Do you think my boss will accept my coworkers excuse if I use it too?

So for a while now, we haven't been hiring people. I have had to pick up a lot of the slack. It wasn't until today that I got angry at it all. A coworker called in because, in her own words, "she had something else to do." I was however assigned to do HER JOB. Well, tomorrow I have decided that I have "something else to do." I am thinking about calling in. Do you think my boss will have double standards for me? I have a good record so I think I can get away with it once.

  • What benefit is there in taking more responsibilities at the workplace?

I was told a while back that this is a good thing but they never expanded on why it's a good thing. From my perspective, I fall behind on my other work. I do not trust my department coworkers to get the job done. I am currently taking on the responsibilities of a manager even though I am not. I was also being given even more responsibilities in the past that caused me to fall behind my work. It felt like a rat race trying to juggle multiple tasks while trying to finish them fast enough to do mine. Suffice to say, I had a meltdown that almost cost me my job. My managers have backed off and let me pretty much have full run of my department. I guess they are afraid that I will leave. I was kind of hoping they would fire me instead but they don't want to do that either.

This has however left me wondering what I am missing out on. None of the extra responsibilities were going to lead me to a raise, more vacation time, or a promotion, so what exactly was I going to get out of it? Just keeping my bosses happy?

  • Was the movie Xmen Dark Phoenix really that bad? Why did you dislike it?

The fight scenes were fantastic. I had no idea Nightcrawler could be even more awesome. They finally did Storm and Magneto right. There were some cringy lines but overall it was a lot better than Apocalypse. The reviews on Amazon were really mixed. What is your take on it?

  • How do I get my coworkers to leave me alone and let me work in peace?

None of my coworkers are people that really add anything positive to my work experience. They also don't help me achieve the goals or work in my departments, where I tend to multitask alone. I am sorry if I come off as arrogant but I can't do my job in peace with them around. I am just there for the paycheck..

I am introverted and I want to be left alone. Many extroverts seem to always have energy to talk but not put it into their work. Have I made some enemies for ignoring people? I sure have. The issue is that they find it amusing to continue to harass me, when I have made it perfectly clear that I don't want to interact with them. I can only assume that they are bullying me now.

    What are my options?

  • I filed my tax return at the beginning of April and haven't received anything?

I forgot about it for months until an hour ago.

I received a paper, in June, that I needed to pay a fine for not having health insurance. I paid the fine in April via mail though. I tried to get on the phone but all I got was a machine. I paid it again via website. I have tried calling the IRS only to get a machine every single time, I cannot find an agent option. I have tried the "where's my refund?" link and have been told that it cannot disclose information. The website told me to wait around 30-50 days, and you guessed it, I forgot after July.

Can I even do anything at this point? I wish I could talk to a human being instead of a computer.

  • Why am I being called a 'Gringo' while living in a majority white nation?

I am pretty sure that 'Gringo' refers to white foreigners that go to Latin American nations. Regardless of interpretation, it means foreigner. I am not a foreigner. I was born here.

  • Introvert to extroverts?

People tell me that I am rude for ignoring them, but the way I see it, they are rude for interrupting me with pointless small talk.

How do I explain to people that they can be rude to me too? I don't see it as a big deal if they ignore me, but they seem to rub it in my face.

  • Why did a girl lead me on like this? I do?

I asked a female coworker out and at first, she said that she had a 'boyfriend'. So I assumed she was not interested and left her alone. Not even 10 minutes later she comes back, apologizes, gives me a bizarre excuse, tells me that she wants to get to know me, and gives me her number. The very next morning I saw her at work and I invited her to dinner. She agreed. I got off of work earlier than her, waited until she got off of work, and then called her. Nothing. Called her half an hour later. Nothing. Called her an hour later. Nothing.

Why didn't she just reject me and leave it at that? Getting rejected is not a big deal. Being lead on and then ignored is frustrating.

  • So it's almost father's day, and I have a schizophrenic father that I have been avoiding all year. Any advice?

He hasn't been taking his medication for months. He got fired from his job of 15 years 2 months ago after he stopped taking his meds. I feel a deep pit in my stomach of pure disgust and dread just thinking about visiting him. I can't stand listening to him talking about his victim complex anymore. It just makes me want to cry to continue to listen to him.

Do you have any advice on how to deal or talk with him? Do you have any relatives like this?

    -Thanks

  • Why do people ask you how your day is but then when you ask them back they ignore you?

I am an introverted guy. I find it to be women that respond to me like this at work. I keep to myself with my conversations, lunches, and breaks.
