  • The new Yankee Stadium & The YES Network?

Does anyone know what the new Yankee Stadium will not have a retractible roof, like originally planned. It's not like that can't afford it, plus it can be used in the off season for concerts and other income generating events.

Also, how come the YES network never shows games pre mid 1970's on Yankees Classics. I'm sure they must have some on film somewhere.

  • Did anyone see "WAIT 'TIL NEXT YEAR: THE SAGA OF THE CHICAGO CUBS" on HBO?

I'm a Yankees fan, so I never gave the cubs any thought before, but I watched the show on HBO the other day before the 2nd game of the WS. It was funny both and sad at same time. So I want to know from Cubs fans what they thought of it, or any baseball fan their thoughts.

  • Did Anyone Hear Steinbrenner relinquishes control of Yankees 10/14/2007?

I just read Steinbrenner resigned today. What are your thoughts, and what do you say about the 34 years he ran the team.

  • DH in American league?

If the Dh is forced out of the game, say he got hit in the face with a pitch or broke a leg, a reason where he has to be removed, as apposed to just the manager taking him out of the lineup, does the pitcher have to hit then or does the rule still apply once a DH is removed the pitcher has to hit.

Why did they change their name to NY Yankees.?

Why do they wear pinstripes for their home uniform?

How many home stadiums did they play in since being the NY Yankees?

  • Why do people hate the Yankees and Yankees fans so much. 2?

Continued from Why do people hate the Yankees and Yankees fans so much. 1

Let's face it, except for the Mets, all the expansion teams have been in small markets. The Yankees didn't start free agency, they just have more money than any other team. Why shouldn't the Yankees not go out and get the best players money can buy, that's the system today, they are no only a big market team they are the biggest of the big market teams. Is it the Yankees fault the Tampa Bay Devil Rays can't compete with them. Having said all this, New York loves winners, and we love competion, it would be a discrace for the richest team in the biggest market not to do whatever it can to try to keep the Yankees tradition alive, from back in the early days before free trade. And it's because of their tradition Yankees fans are so passionate, and why we want a winning team every year, and winning in NY means you win the world series and anything less than that is a losing season.

  • Why do people hate the Yankees and Yankees fans so much. I'm a Yankee fan, I've been since the early 70's. 1

I couldnt fit the entire question here so I continued it on next question "Why do people hate the Yankees and Yankees fans so much. 2" First of all, anybody that knows anything about New York, knows we are the most knowelgable and passionate fans, and nowhere is that more evident than with Yankees fans. Whether you love the Yankees or hate them, no team in professional sports has a richer history, from Babe Ruth to Mariano Rivera. Prior to free agency, most of the greatest baseball players in history were Yankees, not all were Yankkes there was Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, etc., but no baseball team can compare with how many the Yankees have had: Ruth, Dimaggio, Rizzutto, Gehrig, Berra, Mantle the list goes on and on. In the 1960's the expansion teams started popping up, MLB starts free agency, where teams can aquire any player for a price.

  • Yankee Fans --> How Many Want A Rod To Opt Out?

I've been a Yanees fan all my life, and I for one want him to leave. I didn't like the trade to begin with 4 years ago, we didn't need to spend that much on a 3rd baseman, and he has done nothing in the last 4 years to change my mind. I don't want to hear without him we wouldn't have made the playoff, because for the last 13 years we made them and only the last 4 were with A Rod, so if we didn't have him at 3rd base we would have had someone else and still nade the playoffs. I always felt the money he makes should have been spent on pitching, not a 3rd baseman or any other position player for that matter. I always felt A Rod was way overrated. What a player does for any other team does not translate well once you get to NY esspicialy the Yankees, it never has, look at Kenny Rogers, Chuck Knaublauk, Jason Giami, just to name a few, all great before they came to NY and all mediocore at best, once they came here.

  • Baseball Post Season Playoffs?

Divisional winners plus 1 Wild card. My question is instead of each league having 3 divisions, with the first place team going to post season, plus the one wild card team. What do you think about this. Have the 2 leagues (American and National) but only 1 division in each and just have the top 4 teams in each league make the playoffs
