What is the best song to sing at the church?
During the signing of the registry. I have sung at many family members' weddings, and it is always, always Ave maria (Shubert). I would love to do "from this moment" by Shania twain but it might not be suitable with an organist in a grand ukrainian church! Any ideas? I don't want it to be too heavy, religious or put people to sleep as the couple are very lively people.

Let's say you could pick one problem in the world and fix it. Would you pick the one that impacts other problems the most? would you pick one that benefits your local or personal situation first? What is, in your opinion, the single biggest problem facing us today?

2 AnswersToyota1 decade agoWhat are the people of Gaza supposed to do?
1.5 million refugees living in cramped squalid conditions, day after month after year after decade. How long would you be passive? Can you imagine a day in the life of a Gazan? Do you know what day-to-day life is? If not go to youtube, find out, then come back and answer that question.
How are they supposed to accept the way they live?
I do not want to be inflammatory, or stir up vitriol, I really just want to tap into your empathy.
I really do want to know the answer to my question, though: if not resist the forces around them, then what? Total compliance? Would you be compliant?
9 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoHas anyone heard of the Roots of Empathy program?
Or have you taken part in it? A baby and mother visits classrooms each month and the kids get to know the baby and develop empathy for it. They feel safe in expressing their own emotions as a result.
It has been shown to cut down bullying, reduce aggression and makes kids stick up for other kids--it sounds amazing. Has anyone been in a Roots of Empathy class with a baby or know anyone who has?
1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoDo women molest children as often as men?
My friend says they do at least as much. I say he's crazy, but maybe it's true just a question of degree. I know, like, easily 10 people who were molested, one or 2 as little boys by women. I know it's an icky subject, but do you know anyone who was molested by a woman?
The second part of my question is, if it's so repugnant, and everyone hates child molesters, why don't they stop doing it so damn much? It seems sickeningly common. There must be enough people out there doing it that at least 1 in 20 or so people reading this has or will do it. (my guess based on statistics of victims) so how do we stop it?
20 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoHas anyone ever brought packaging back to a store?
I do like this idea , especially the rigid plastic clamshells that you get salad greens in--it pisses me off that they are not recyclable, but I haven't the nerve to do it! I'm thinking of starting a collection of them and bringing them all at once but wouldn't that be totally obnoxious? Would it achieve anything besides making people cringe when I come to the store?
3 AnswersGreen Living1 decade agoWhat's with the thumbs down ratings?
Okay. I'll admit I tend to ramble and I'm a bit of a know-it-all. But My aim is always to answer the question well and thoroughly. Do people give a thumbs down just because they disagree with your opinion? Is that right? Shouldn't the rating depend on whether it is a thoughtful answer or not? I'll be sulking and pouting in the meantime. Hmmmf.
