2 AnswersXbox1 decade agoPC processor, which is better?
It used to be that if you had a 2.4GHz processor it was pretty much certain to be better than a 1.4GHz one but now with dual core technology im a bit lost. If you have a 1.4GHz dual core processor is it better than a 2.4 GHz single core one? and how do you tell? Do you simply times 1.4 by 2?
9 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoAnyone had problems since the last console update?
Ever since microsoft released the latest console update which I think was on monday and contained the new look dashboard and the new down loadable films and games I have been having trouble signing in. When the console starts up it auto signs in to xbox live and I get the signed in message but im left on the dashboard looking at the signing in logo (360 standing on end with the ring of dots around it that light up in turn). When this happens, which isn't every time it stays for ages on some occasions and evenetually the dashboard appears as normal. Ths problem also happens if I exit a game and drop to dashboard.
Im keeping everything crossed as my 360 is nearly 1 year old now and hoping that I dont end up in the 33% club
Also does anyone know if the Live connection times out if you are not playing online? Im playing through Halo 3 Campaign at the moment on my own and my Live connection after some time disconnects.

8 AnswersDrama1 decade agoComponent connections keeps cutting out, any idea why?
I have recently connected my 360 up to the component sockets in the back of the TV. It is not a HD ready TV but i flicked the selector switch on the xbox lead over to HDTV anyway to see what happens. It worked and the picture is better on HDTV mode than on normal TV mode but I keep momentarily losing the picture. Should I flick back to normal TV and remain connected to the component sockets?
3 AnswersXbox1 decade agoI want to share my Internet connection between my xbox and my PC but how?
The modem currently connects to the PC via USB so I want to connect the xbox directly to the network card in the back of the PC and create a "shared" connection but im not sure how to do this. Can some one provide a step by step guide to setting this up?
10 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoHDTV or not HDTV?
ok, so I have had my 42" sumsung rear projection TV for about 2 years now and my 360 for about a year. I have had it connected to the tv by the scart socket for the whole time I have had it and have had to put up with blurred corners on the screen. Yuck!!
I have known since I bought the TV that it had component sockets on the back but until reading some of the stuff on here I have not thought much about it. I have been meaning to try connecting the xbox to the component sockets for ages but couldn't be bothered to drag the TV out and fiddle.........Until last night that is.
I hooked it up and flicked the selector switch on the lead to HDTV and on it came. I could only see the piture on the lowest HDTV resolution 480p or something like that but its still miles better.
So my question is, is this true HDTV or is it a sort of "virtual" HDTV. And now I have my TV working like this is there anything I can do short of a new TV to improve the picture further?
5 AnswersXbox1 decade agoAre the top contributors top?
Has any one noticed that lots of the people on here (not all) who have achived "top contributor" always seem to answer "call a professional to resolve your problem". I dont really see how this is contributing apart from stating the obvious, or is it just me?
I shall now take cover and await the immanant barrage of flaming :p
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoHome Network help?
I want to connect an xbox to xbox live but at present there is a only a modem installed, connected to the PC via USB with no router.
I read a different question with a similar problem and one of the answers stated, if I read it correctly that it is possible to conect the xbox directly to the PC go into network settings select the USB connection and the xbox connection and "bridge them" thus removing the need for a router. Can any one confirm wheather this is possible or not?
