need new recipes, and tips from ya'll, please!!!!

i know not to run multiple anti virus programs at the same time but i have installed several security programs and i don't know how to tell if more than one anti virus program is running.

in the windows security center,

security essentials,

virus protection not found.

but it also says "windows does not detect all anti virus programs".

does the computer tell me? where?

do i need an anti virus uninstaller program to uninstall multiples? would this remove the whole program or just the virus part?

i know this is a long request, but we are recovering from a MAJOR melt down and are trying to rebuild all information input with no problems. being a lot overcautious.

i have been collecting old jeans for some time and i want to use them to make a quilt using the "lone star" or "star of Bethlehem" pattern. i also need some directions. i have quilted before, but only with square blocks. i'm sure this will be a different animal and i sure could use any help here. will be piecing by machine. quilting by machine/by hand/sending out to be quilted by someone with a long arm machine.

i have a 7 month old german shepherd puppy. i also have a clothes line where i hang the laundry. she can jerk all the clothes off the line faster than i can put them up (when i am in the house). i know it's her because the clothes are in a neat line directly under the line

how do i break her of this? i know how to treat normal behavior problems, but this one has me stumped. any suggestions, PLEASE.

i have one of those huge remote control units. i can't seem to set it up to use it. does anyone else have one and can tell me how to work it? instructions are particulary vague and incomplete. it's made by "innovage products".

can anyone tell me how to get crispy potatoe slices fried in a cast iron skillet? i either heat the skillet, put in shortening, getting limp, greasy potatoes, or i flash fry the potatoes and the fire alarm goes off. HELP

i have hundreds of cookbooks. i want to be able to enter titles and authors, seperate them into groups (microwave, diet, vegetarian, etc, ). and then alphabetize entire contents and/or individual groups by titles. must run on HP home edition or 98. is there a program (free)? that will let me do this? perhaps a library program?

anyone use one of these things? does it work well? expensive? noisey, cats like it? i have 8 cats and a limited budget (who doesn't?) and don't want to waste money. would consider getting multipal units if they work. your input please.

computer is as slow as a crippled turtle. think i need some kind of window's problem fixer, spyware and adware remover. what is the best kind? is registry defender worth the money? windows defender? PC mightymax scan says i have 1667 invalad shortcuts, 5643 invalid registry paths and 11 high risk problems. (i 'm about to panic). or is there something better? what about a freeware? what do you use and why?

when i answer a question pn page 10, how do i go back to page 10 questions on page 10 withought going back to page 1 and then page 7? there has to be a way to do this, but how?

i asked this question on the computer page, but they had NO idea. HELP!

how do i get from page 1 to page 10 without going through page 7?

now all my favorits are on the bottom of the list (email, answers, fox news). can i place them on the gogle toolbar, or at least on the top of the list for easier access?

i've been fiddleing around with downloading new programs, changing settings and i don't know what all (well, you don't learn if you don't actually do it). messed it up so i had to reboot it. did a recovery so i could get back to the way it worked three weeks ago. but, somehow i have managed to lose the "ALL PROGAMS" at the bottom of the start menu. am using xp home. computer books don't help because i don't alwas know what terms to look up.
