My Husband and I are planning to buy a single family house and we r currently in the contingency period. The home inspection report says:

A noticeable rise or unevenness was observed at the floor at the upper level hall area(3rd floor of the house). Whether or not the house was originally constructed with this condition or whether the condition occurred due to possible structural movement or settlement was not determined. Further evaluation by a qualified contractor will be needed.

Is this normally a major issue? Are we nuts to proceed with this house? Please advice and share your experiences. We only have 3 more days before he contingency ends.

My daughter and her husband are going thru a rough patch. So my daughter decided to move out and buy a house on her own. Everything was going fine until we found that her husband also has to sign a waiver form on the property. Not sure who is responsible to notify us regarding this but We were not aware of this until the last moment. Now my son-in-law is not ready to sign the waiver. Now the seller and his agent are planning to sue my daughter because we are unable to close the escrow. We tried to negotiate with my son-in-law but things did not go well. Can anyone help us here and tell us the options we have right now. we certainly dont want the lawsuit and we are already losing money that was paid as deposit for the contingency period...

Thanks a lot for your reply. There are plenty of appointments available during the month of march in Canada but my only concern is that if it is ok to go to Canada for my first time H1B stamping rather than to my home country. I dont ve a degree from US nor ve work exp in US.

I entered the US on H4 visa while my H1-B was in process. later my H1-B application was approved but without I-94.

Now I need to go out and get stamping to get converted to H1 status.

o Do I have to go to India (chennai) for stamping or Can i go to

Canada (preferably Vancouver)?.

o If i decide to go to Canada then do i need to file I-824 to

notify them before i go there?

Note: Form I-824 is used to request a duplicate approval notice, to request approval notice to another U.S. Consulate.
