  • Alice Jane or Amber Minerva?

My daughter is due next month! I m set on these names so I d rather just an answer/opinion versus more suggestions. Minerva is the last name.

Alice Jane Minerva: Alice would be the first name with Jane as the middle. People could refer to her as Alice, that s fine, I just like how elegant Alice Jane sounds. I realize it would probably just be close friends/family that would say Alice Jane, though.

As for Amber Minerva, I just love how it looks and how strong the name sounds. I think I m most fond of this combination, but I could sway either way! I m not too sure of a middle name here, if even, but it wouldn t be one said like "Alice Jane", nothing like that.

  • Should I Get Another Dog?

I have a chihuahua and mini pin, they re three years old as of about two weeks ago. I m moving soon and I will have a lot more room so my family and I were thinking about getting a larger dog.

Our dogs don t play well with other dogs --- they don t fight physically though --- but I think if we got the dog as a puppy we could grow with them like they did themselves. The only reason my dogs are so inseparable is because they were raised together, as if I randomly put them together now they wouldn t tolerate each other.

I was thinking a bull terrier? Something not incredibly large but still big. Sheltie or boston terrier? What is your opinion?

  • Please explain this? WW2 RELATED.?

So, I saw in a movie and read that Nazis could tell a Jew by whether or not they were circumcised. This implies only Jewish people were circumcised? Why is this?

  • Is this normal?

I always feel like when I m hanging out with my friends it s like I m forcing myself to laugh, comment, etc. Everything, even smiling and talking in general, feels superficial. It s like something I m supposed to do so I do what I m supposed to do. I m a writer, and I don t know if this is a common thing for writers, but even as I write this I don t feel like it s coming from me. I hope that makes any kind of sense. My actions, I guess, are based on what I think a person should do and how they d react and when I write I feel like its.. not some kind of character but it s like I make myself write a certain way that isn t me? I don t know how to explain it, sorry this makes literally no sense. It s like I m always thinking and my mind is its own thing disconnected from my body, sort of.

  • CHIHUAHUA HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION??

own a pure-breed Chihuahua, he's about 11 pounds but larger than most --- not just in weight. He's turning three in June.

We took him out to get his nails cut, which went fine. He's primarily an indoor dog. He takes walks about four times a week, and is up to date in heart worm & flea medications.

We (my family and I) bought him new Dentley's Rawhide Twists in small. He's never had them before.

First we noticed a small bump on his head. The bump grew and grew and grew to about the size of a quarter when suddenly a ton of more little bumps developed. Eventually, it got to the point where his eyes were nearly swollen shut.

Before you ask me why I'm writing this instead of taking him to the vet, I've already given him benadryl according to his size and his breathing is fine as well as his heart rate.

The bumps seem to not bother him besides itchiness. His tail was still wagging! I put a cold wash cloth on him and it helped, I think. They're slowly going away now but probably from the benadryl. We've located a pin-point on the first bump that appears to possibly be the origin of a bug bite? You know how when you're stung you can tell exactly where?

What do you think is going on? I think its either a reaction to the rawhides or a bug bite.

  • What is wrong with me?

Okay, so my doctor is treating me for a sinus infection. This Tuesday I had my first migraine in at least six years, making it my second ever. I m only 14, keep that in mind. When I got the migraine Tuesday, it lasted about three hours and brought me to tears. I guess I had it with "visuals" due to the colorful zig zags, stripes, and the blind spot I got in the beginning of the migraine.

I told my doctor about what I m really concerned about; the constant floaters and black dots I ve been seeing. Have you stared at something and looked away and seen faded colors after? I see that everywhere I look, without looking at something for a while. I see static, too. Like everything is made of tiny moving dots.

Anyways, it s Thursday and my head still aches! It s not nearly as bad as Tuesday and there s no auras, but my eyes still see the floaters, etc. (I ve always seen those, but my doctor is telling me to get an opthamalugist [I did not spell that right..] appointment). I ve taken over the counter migraine meds and they don t work. Today I ve taken two doses of Imitrex as well as antibotics for the sinus infection.

The headache won t stop. I haven t vomited, but the doctor says if it doesn t go away I should go to the ER for IVs.

What could be wrong with me? Sorry this is so long. Please read carefully, though. I m worried.

  • Hollis, Heather, or Brier Merril?

For a girl. Merril is the last name. Only those names. Which is best?

  • Which Name for a Girl?

    Hollis Merril (Holly),

    Heather Merril,

    Brier Merril,

I like Hollis because it matches with the last name and gives a good nickname. I really love Heather Merril, although the spellings yucky, because it sounds so pretty. I love Brier, too. Brier would be pronounced bry-er. I changed the spelling because "Briar Merril" isn't all that pretty to me.

Which is your favorite? Please only choose from these names. PS: Merril is the last name.

  • What's jail really like?

Only answer if you've ever been in jail or worked in one. Long answers please! Can you read, draw, watch television? Are guards really as brutal as they appear on television? Is violence that common, and do guards ignore it?

Include a ton of other things, too.

  • kissing on lips between parents/kids?

--- Do your parents kiss your on the lips? (If so, what about past age 13?)

--- Do you kiss your kids on the lips?

I obviously don't mean making out with parents/child. My parents kiss me on the lips & always have, but I can see that being a little strange. .

  • when to change your cartilage piercing on your own?

I got my cartilage pierced early February by needle. She didn't give me the option to put in a stud, like the kind you pierce your ear lobes with, just a small ring with a colored bead.

The lady said I could come back in a month to get the bead changed. I went in around March 17th, I think, to change the bead from sky blue to black. She did it for me, not sure how she did it.

Now, it's April 1st and I'm wondering when I can change it myself, and change it daily. Have I been able to this entire time? How long should I leave the ring in before switching to a stud? My ear isn't completely healed. It still hurts when hit or touched. I really want to change to a diamond stud, or those earrings that go in your lobe and your cartilage with the chain.

  • Cartilage Piercing Pain..?

I got my cartilage pierced about three months ago with a needle. It's not infected, but it's still tender to sleep on and it hurts if someone hits it when hugging/kissing me, etc.

There's a little bit of scar tissue right on the piercing that's barely noticeable. I read about some home remedies to treat it, but I was going to wait a while. I haven't taken out the piercing once, but got the bead color changed by a person at the tattoo/piercing shop. She pierced it with a ring, so I've left in the ring & only changed it that one time.

Is it normal for it to still hurt? Didn't mean for it to be so long, just didn't want to lack information because I'm not sure what could be involved, etc.

  • 15 y/o arrested for shoplifting?

What would happen if a 15 year old girl was arrested for shoplifting? First time in trouble with police, but she'd been stealing from the same store for months and they just figured out it was her. What would happen? Totally normal parents, too, that have never been in trouble.

  • Moving From Boston to NW North Carolina?

I'm a teenager expecting to move to North West North Carolina this summer with my family. My friend moved there and came back, she said it wasn't worth it and more expensive in the long run. From what I've read, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than MA. Plus, she lived coastal NC.

Anyways, I wondering if there was anything you guys could warn me about or tell me about. Whether I should move or not, what teens are like there, etc.

Also, would they think I have an accent? I don't think I have an accent, and people on tv don't have an accent to me. I don't live exactly in Boston anymore but still within 40 minutes, by the way. Regardless, I'm confident in the fact that I don't have that stereotyped Boston accent. I was just wondering if they'd think I have an accent there.

Finally, I have an A average. The stereotype for down there is that they're kinda dumb. But I know the US goes by the same standards all around, so I was wondering if school work would reallyy be that easier for me.

Thanks! Sorry it was long. Don't be rude, please.

  • Can You Tell Where I'm From?

Where I'm from we say or-ah-gon not orah-gin. We say ill-a-noise not ill-a-noy. I'm not sure if that's enough detail for you, if not I'll answer any comments if you have questions on how I'd pronounce something else. Can you guess where I live?
