I am 17 and I was wanting eagerly to join the United States marine corps. I had a girlfriend of two years she promised everything would be great at first and then just yesterday she confessed to me she felt 4 years was too much. I do understand that but in this situation she had promised me she would wait. She would show me pictures of couples she wanted us to resemble when I got back. She always told me she was loyal and in the last minute where I needed it to count she said to me she wanted to end the relationship. I did I wished her the best as I do love her she was my princess and I'd give her anything for her to be happy. Although to my surprise she would be happier if we broke up. I feel I miss her but I don't want to get back together if that's the kind of loyalty she really has. I just need at the very least some advice.

I'm well aware 4 years is a long time. I wouldn't want her to be alone. I want whats best for her.

What's painful to me is all the promises she made to me. She said she would wait. She said she never wanted to be with anyone else.

I told her promises are easy to make. I wanted to break up not to go through this. What I find the most melancholy is all the promises she made. All the plans we had.

I wanted to give this girl everything. Now I have to let her go.

I have to stay in the same town with her for a couple more months. The thought of seeing her us unbearable as I think I'd get my eyes watery in front of her.

I rode the bus the other day and noticed a lot of veterans there and I see community events for free medical exams. Why are they treated like this when they gave up so much for its citizens? Am I wrong if so how?

Answer from experience please otherwise state so. I want to join this branch of military but I need to know some things. My main questions is if you need to pay rent, food or utilities? Also I would like to know if you make any money? I am joining so I'd want to know these things.

I mean they dress really fruity with skinny jeans and a mainstream shirt. They are all skinny and no muscle mass whatsoever. They call it swag but I think it's ridiculous. They say they get girls but the only girls I've seen them with is some Miley Cyrus looking girls. No woman with self respect would be with one. Where did society go wrong? Just your opinion I mean as in a relationship. I am muscular though not the stereotypical self absorbed or selfish kind. I like being fit I can carry my girlfriend around I just like it more but as in marriage whats your opinion? I'm asking out curiosity I'm not getting married or anything.
