  • Is mild edema in the legs normal?

I noticed that when I press my finger on my shin that it leaves a slight indentation, I have had several tests done over the last few years, echocardiogram, cbc's, and a lot more, but all my tests are normal.

My girlfriend seems to also have some edema in her legs, and my 15 year old nephew seems to as well, he was sitting with his legs pressed against a table for a fewm inutes and when he moved he had a big indentation in his leg, not just a mark but a literal dent.

I'm only 27 male not overweight, not very active, but I plan to begin an exercise program soon.

Im not asking for a diagnosis, i'm just wondering can edema be normal bodily function sometimes, It makes me wonder because i'm not the only one who has noticed this around me.

  • Tender gland behind nipple in boys during puberty?

So my nephew mentioned behind his nipples are sensitive and Tender, I remember when I went through puberty and behind my nipples hurt as well but I remember my glands being big and hard and I ended up with slight gynomastia (male boobies) so does this mean he will end up with boobs? Mine aren't nothing like you see in a lot of men (I'm 27 years old) mine are noticeable but not big I couldn't even fit the smaller bra available not that I've tried lmao. So is this tenderness normal or a sign of gynomastia?

  • Can you watch a mole form over time?

On my left bicep I have a tiny brown spot maybe half the size of a bb or airlift pellet, It has grown darker over time, I know it wasn't there 4 years ago because I got a tattoo right next to where the spot is and I remember about a year or so after i got the tattoo i noticed a tiny little darkening spot and now like 4 years later it is completely brown now, it's flat, never itches or burns, and it's not growing in size, I assumed I was watching a mole form but idk if that's possible.

  • Weak pulse what could it be?

My friend has irregular heart beats 1000's a day, he's 30 years old and this has been going on for at least 8 years, well his doctor is sending him to see a cardiologist that is going to perform a complete cardiac exam. They wanna rule out a previous heart attack first. So i felt his pulse to feel the irregular beat or pause/skip btw hes having a lot of pvcs, so felt a faint pulse in the left arm, and felt a strong pulse in the right arm, he also has a hard time getting a bp reading from his left arm. His mother couldn't get a reading at all in her left arm but she's had so many tests ran and still nothing was found wrong with her except some pvcs, lack of bp in the left arm. What do you think? Hace you ever heard of this? I mean he's 30 years old decent cholesterol, bp isn't too bad, and he wasn't born with anything wrong, and has no family history of fmily members having these problems especially at such a young age.

  • Is this IBS or something i ate?

Yesterday i ate some eggs wrapped in bacon, last night i ate some casserole, this morning i had diarrhea, then i went again a couple hours later and it wasn't diarrhea, then a few hours later i went again and it was a mixture of diarrhea and soft stool. It seems acidy too as its making my bottom raw to the point where my bottom is bleeding a little not from the anus but the butt crack itself. Sorry to be so explicit i know its gross I'm just wondering if it may have been from something i are or possibly ibs.

  • I feel a little tickle inside my chest sometimes any ideas?

So a little back story I'm 27, i have a history if heart palpitations, i also experienced an episode of afib at the age of 23 directly caused by vomiting, and again 2 years later caused by the same thing, I've had numerous tests done to rule out any heart defects such as ekg, echocardiogram, a lot of blood work, and monitor. I was told my heart is fine. So obviously i do have an electrical issue within my heart, but the doctors aren't concerned about it because i am asymptomatic, no fainting, chest pains, dizziness etc. But sometimes i can feel a very slight tickle in my chest, and this can go on for about a hour or so at a time, i can't say its my heart because i can't really be sure, but i also have chronic acid reflux which may be to blame, but i thought I'd post on here not for a diagbosis but simply to see if maybe you have felt the same thing and maybe you figured out what it was. By the way heart palpitations run deep in my family but has never caused any problems for anyone so i don't feel like I'm in trouble or anything I'm just rather curious.

  • Does this sound like a blood clot?

My friend showed me a bruise on their inner bicep that looked as of it ran along a vein, they said they woke up and it was hurting and that's when they noticed it, there was also i small knot around the inside of the elbow bend area, well tonight it looks worse because now multiple veins are red and swollen like bright red. I told them it looks like either an infection in the vein or a clot and that they need to go get the doctor to check it out. They said they are going to the doc first thing in the morning. Judging by my description does this sound like a clot?

For around probably 10 years I've gad these small soft lumps on my calf muscles, the arent visible unless im standing for awhile or being active. They are painless.

I used to skate a lot skateboarding and roller skating for years so i can understand where they came from. But the real question is do i just leave them alone or will they ever get bigger? I looked up transfascial muscular hernias and they look identicle to what i see on my legs, its around 4 bumps.

  • Ever heard of vomiting to caude atrial fibrillation?

So at the age of 23 i vomited and it caused me to immediately go into afib, after spending 10 hours or so in the hospital my heart returned to normal rhythm, fast forward 2 years age 25 it happened again and once again in the hospital 10 or so hours and back to normal rhythm, both times i spent 2 to 3 days on a EKG, and both times i had na echocardiogram, no hypertension, amd no other abnormalities foubd and was told not to worry because my heart looks fine. This slightly affects me, i tend to worry at times especially when feeling nauseated, i did however vomit early this year due to the stomach virus and it did not happen this time around. For the past like 8 years ive had heart palpitations like flutters skips pounding beats daily but the doctors brush it off because i appear to have a structurally normal heart, im well aware there is some sort of electrical issue here, but i just hope the docs aren't ignoring something. Heart palpitations run deep in my family but has necer caused and issues, most people in my family that have passed away all died of different causes as far as i am aware. Palpitations have always caused me tons of anxiety and afib was the icing on the cake.

  • How long after losing a parent do you start accepting what happened?

My mom passed away nearly 5 months ago after battling cirrhosis, and I still have not been able to wrap my head around it, maybe because we have no answers as to why she ever got cirrhosis, she tested negative for any genetic reasons, never an alcoholic or drug abuser, no identifiable reason whatsoever. My mom was a good woman, helped the community, donated every month to children's hospital, loved her kids and would walk through hell and back for them and her grandkids, but even the best of people will meet their fate eventually and often times we are left with an empty space in our hearts and a million questions. I am aware ill probably never know why my mom got sick, but I am curious about how long it takes to start feeling some closure. I know its different for everyone and I am just wanting to know from your personal experience.

  • Why is valuable time and resources spent on studying useless stuff?

I see post all the time where science discovered something new, how doctors have new treatments to offer patients, so on, but then I hear stories where doctors and scientist spent months studying why some people hate cheese, why some people prefer blondes over brunettes, you get the point, so why do these people spend years in college only to tell people why I hate cheese so much, and I do hate cheese but I can tell you why without a science study its simply disgusting. So why do you think people spend time and resources on useless nonsense?

  • Does this sound like hemorrhoids?

I'm a 27 year old male, well for at least a couple of year at times ill get this rectal sharp pain when needing to go number 2, once I poop it goes away. Lately I've had this itch around the anus, as well as the feeling of something being inside there like a hair or something, i also get a few spots of bright blood on the tissue paper ever so often when my anus feels irritated, so I'm guessing its the anus that bleeding maybe an open tear or something considering or happens when the anus either burns or itches. Anywho I will mention this to my doc during my next physical soon, but I figured it may be hemorrhoids because of the stories I've heard, I've also heard about colon cancer as well as rectal cancer and neither of those seem like what I am experiencing.

  • Stomach has felt a little weird for a few days can anyone relate?

I'm a 27 year old male no known digestive issues aside from acid reflux. But for 2 days now my stomach or shall I say intestinal area has felt weird, almost like I'm gassy, not really any cramps or nausea, no diarrhea, a few lose stools but not too bad, and yesterday I pooped like 5 times in just a few hours, and today I've gone maybe 4 times, I thought I had mucus on the tissue paper but after looking at gross pictures online of stool mucus I'm not convinced it's mucus, looks more like undigested food maybe. Sorry for such a gross question but I'm just wondering if you ever get this and if so is it usually from something you ate? I'm not looking for a diagnosis, if I felt like it was a serious situation I wouldn't be here asking you I'd be at the docs office.

  • Is Time Travel not the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard of or what?

Time doesn't exist, its a man made thing to keep track of where we stand and where we've been and when it was. How could we possibly travel back into something that doesn't exist? It's not like the universe is recording every little move. Some scientist believe in this which is completely ridiculous.

  • How do you manage your heart skipping beats?

Im a 26 year old male, i am no stranger to heart palpitations ive had them for many years. But they do get annoying at times, especially when i wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and my heart starts skipping alot just because i got up out of bed, it doesnt do this if ive slept for 8 hours only when i get up from sleeping for like 3 hours or so. Ive had afib 2 times caused by vomiting, my doctor is suspecting a hiatal hernia for all my heart palpitations and afib because i have some digestive issues including acid relux and abdominal discomfort after eating and sometimes even chest discomfort. But ive had 2 echocardiograms and ekg monitor for a few days and other tests like xrays and loads of blood work and i was told my heart is healthy anf not to worry. But of course i worry, but not only that i get annoyed with the palpitations. Hopefully i can get the digestive issues taken care of soon and maybe that will stop all this madness, also both of my parents have hiatal hernias and with my dad it caused svt especially after eating. So anyways sorry for all that, i just want to know ow to relieve them when they come on strong.

  • Which do you think is better Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad?

I know both shows have been out for a while now, and im just now finishing up GoT and finished BB a while back. But in my opinon breaking bad is better mainly because the story is so well written and easy to follow. But GoT has a good story, Good characters and so on, but I find GoT hard to follow sometimes mainly because there is so many names being thrown around especially before the character is even introduced, and having to follow so many characters with so many names its hard to avoid any confusion, i find myself asking a lot of questions. But all in all GoT is great, but i think Breaking Bad is much better.

  • Can the stomach flu cause fainting?

So ive only fainted once in my life. About 12 years or so ago i had the stomach flu i cant recall how long i had it prior to passing out. I just remember sitting in the toilet and feeling weird all of the sudden and my vision started looking weird like yellowish tint to the room and i screamed for someone to help me out and by the time someone got there i passed out and woke up moments later with my older sister coming in so i went to the er where i received fluids and after that i felt great. Im guessing i got dehydrated and thats what made faint. I was just curious why we can faint with the stomach flu.

  • How deep can you breathe on a spirometer?

So my gf had a minor surgery and they gave herthis little breathing apparatus called a spirometer airlife brand. I know this thing is not a tool used to determine lung capacity or function but rather it is used to help you control your breathing to prevent pneumonia and other stuff after surgery. But after giving it a try myself i wondered how high someone could get the little bobber to go. I could get it up to between 2000-2500 and the top number is 4000 i believe. My girlfriend got it to 4000 once after using it several times. But i wondered if someone could actually pick it up the very first time and max it out without doing any sort of breathing exercise etc before starting.

  • Are college students zombies or what?

Not literally zombies, but i work on a big campus, and all the students dress the same, talk the same, act the same, eat the same things. Guys all walk around like their butts smell like roses, and the girls walk with their noses so high in the air as if they are God sent. Lol im being serious college students are just weird. They are around my age, i skipped out on college because i make plenty to live on and im glab i did.
