how to get rid of buildup in hair without striping color?
I recently dyed my hair red and now I have a lot of gunk built up around my scalp. It's absolutely disgusting and greasy. I had this problem when my hair was permed a year ago and hoped it was just some allergic reaction to the chemicals, because it went away eventually, but now I'm having the same problem again! I want to maintain the red hair color, but I want to get this nasty residue out of my hair. So, how can I get rid of it, and what should I do to avoid it happening again?
1 AnswerHair6 years agowhat is this oil in my hair?
About a month ago I got a spiral perm. Now all of the sudden I have a sappy residue at the back of my head that I can't wash out. I sit in the shower with water running over the spot, scrubbing at it but I can't get it out. It's the lower later so you can't see it unless your looking for it, but I can feel it and it's pretty disgusting-like I have pine sap in my hair but I can't get it out. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how to get it out?
1 AnswerHair7 years agoWhy was my hedgehog squeaking?
Last night I was up later than usual, so I was awake when my male hedgehog came out to play. He was running on his wheel when all of the sudden he stopped, got off, and started squeaking. It wasn't a long squeal, just a few short bursts of squeaks. They didn't sound like he was in distress, (though to be fair, I've never heard him scream, so I don't know what he sounds like when he's upset.) but when I tried to look online, some people suggested it might be seizures-others said he was expressing contentment. Should I take him to the vet to get things checked out?
1 AnswerOther - Pets8 years agoWould a spiral perm work for me?
I have always desperately craved curls. When I was little, my mom could accomplish them after having me sit in large curlers for several hours (of course at the time I hated them because I always managed to look like a mini Fran Drescher). Now that I'm older, I would love to have curls, but my hair is long and very thick. When I try at home, usually my hair isn't even totally dry by the time I take it out of the curlers, and if it is dry, I can't touch it with a brush at all or it becomes an uncontrollable mess (it also takes large amounts of hair spray for the curls to stay longer than about an hour. After my last failed attempt, my mother suggested I get a spiral perm. From what I've seen online, spiral perms are exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm afraid that my hair is so thick that I'll have the frizzy problem I've had with my attempts at home. Can anyone tell me if a spiral perm would work well with my very heavy, very frizzy hair?
1 AnswerHair8 years agoContacting Old Facebook Friend?
I recently discovered that I had been unfriended by someone I still considered to be a friend. I would like to contact her and see if she just really wants to cut contact or if it was an accident. Is it a social faux pas to contact her? Or can I reach out and try to keep in touch with an old friend?
1 AnswerFacebook9 years agoHusky Won't Sleep at Night?
My boyfriend has a husky that's about 6 months old. Recently, she's started making it impossible for either one of them to sleep at night. She sleeps in a kennel and all night long she howls and whines. He's gone two days without sleep and has only gotten about three hours every night for the last month because of this. Because he works, she's in her kennel for a long time, which I know can cause dogs to have difficulty sleeping at night, but when he gets off work, the husky and his other dog can run around all they want and he takes them on frequent walks, so she's still burning a lot of energy. Does anyone know what we can do to get her to sleep at night. He's in an apartment so if this doesn't stop, eventually one of his neighbors is going to complain.
5 AnswersDogs9 years agoReason for Weight Loss?
Since March, I've steadily lost about 6 pounds. I'm not a very big girl to begin with (I'm 19 and at the beginning of this year I was only 110 pounds simply because I don't gain weight easily). I know 104 is not a healthy weight for someone my age, but I have not lost this weight intentionally-I haven't changed my eating habits or started exercising to account for the weight loss. Can someone tell me what may be causing me to lose weight? So far weight loss is my only symptom of anything being wrong with my body but my mother has diabetes so I don't want to take any chances.

Husky Friendly Apartments in CO?
My boyfriend has a husky puppy he is unable to keep at his current apartment due to their restricted breed list. However, his lease is up soon so he is on the hunt for an apartment that will take his pup. Does anyone know of any affordable apartments in Colorado that will take huskies?

1 AnswerDenver9 years agoIs This Considered Discrimination?
We recently brought in a new manager at work, who has drastically cut hours, making the claim that we simply don't have money for payroll. However, despite not having money, she has begun looking for new hires. Another co worker claims that this is technically discrimination, but I am not sure. Maybe this is a silly question, but is this situation in fact one of discrimination? Or should I tell my coworker that they need to back down about this particular subject. She's been discriminatory about religion, so it's not as though she's totally clean otherwise, but I don't want my coworker to get into a mess because he reported her for something that isn't actually discrimination.

I'm currently trying to plan my sister's bachelorette party. Unfortunately, I am under 21, so going to a bar is difficult. Does anyone have good ideas for under 21 friendly bachelorette parties in Colorado?
2 AnswersOther - Games & Recreation9 years agoHedgie's Claws Curling Under?
I have a hedgie who is terrified of getting his claws clipped. I've been careful to have another person clip his claws while I hold him to minimize the risk of hitting the quick, and he's only bled once, but he squirms to the point of where we can't get anywhere near his claws. Now his claws are starting to curl under quiet badly because we've been unable to clip them. I've heard that using sandpaper can be quiet effective-would it still work with his claws curled under? If so, what should I use to attach it to his wheel? I'd rather avoid this option because my pay check is not great right now, but if I took him to the vet, would they be able to sedate him and cut his claws for us? He still runs on his wheel, so his claws aren't to the point where they're likely doing any damage beyond being an annoyance, but obviously I want to get this taken care of as soon as possible. With his claws curled as they are, would I still be able to clip them normally? Any help that can be given would be great. Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Pets9 years agoWhat to do about driving anxiety?
I got my license about two weeks ago. After accidentally scraping a car while pulling into a parking spot, I have had really bad anxiety while driving. Every time I screw up or accidentally cut someone off, I feel awful about it for days and I don't want to get back on the road. I nearly cause an accident today while turning left out of a parking lot today and I'm not sure I can do this anymore. I'm so tired of being constantly afraid of hitting someone or being hit. And after today, I really don't feel like a safe driver. Is there anything I can do to help this anxiety? What should I do about driving? I'm 18 and I don't want to be bumming rides off others forever, but I don't feel safe when I drive.
3 AnswersMental Health10 years agoHeadache from retainers? ?
I got my braces off about four days ago, and now wear those plastic clear retainers that cover your teeth. For the most part, they are okay during the day, but I wake up with awful headaches. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm clenching my teeth at night because of the retainers. Is this normal? Will it ever go away? I had a constant headache from rubber bands when I had braces-I don't want to have headaches forever because I wanted nice teeth.
2 AnswersDental10 years agoCopyright issues with anthologies? ?
I have been trying to write a book and have it published for a while now. However, at the moment, my short stories are the best things I have written. I would kind of like to see about just publishing a book of my short stories until I can write a full-length novel. The problem is that some of my best short stories have been published in other anthologies. My question is, would I still be able to publish these stories in a book of my own, or does the anthology was originally published in own the rights?
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoIs this strange behavior for a hedgehog? ?
I have a two or three month old hedgehog who is acting a little strange lately. He use to sleep in his hut under lots of pieces of cloth, but in the past few days, he's taken to just sleeping under the cover cloth I use as bedding in his cage. He is quilling right now, so I thought maybe the cool plastic feels good against his itchy skin, but I want to make sure. Could he be overheated? I keep my room at about 70 or 80 degrees and open my curtains so he gets sublight. Or sick? I recently discovered he's outgrown his wheel, so I'll buy him a new one tomorrow, but could he be depressed because he's not getting enough exercise? I don't want to freak myself out over this if it's nothing,I'm losing sleep as it is, but since I've never had a hedgehog before, I'm not sure if this is normal behavior. Is he just changing sleep habits as he matures?
3 AnswersOther - Pets10 years agoZebra Danio being bullied? ?
I recently bought five zebra danios for my five gallon tank. Watching them swim around yesterday, I noted one was hiding behind the filter. When I coaxed him out with food, it looked like his tail had been bitten off. One of the other danios is a bully and chases the others around, so I'm assuming that he's the one who did this. What should I do with the fish with the missing tail? I don't have another tank with a filter, nor do I have the money for one-should I put him in a bowl of his own so his tail can recover? Should I buy him a buddy fish? I've read that even numbers are good so that they all have a partner. If I do put him in a separate bowl, should I only keep him there until his tail grows back or should he be separate forever? I know that pretty much everyone thinks keeping a fish in a bowl is cruel but I really don't have any other options.
2 AnswersFish10 years agoZebra Danio's Tail is Frayed?
I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my zebra danio. I bought three new zebras after his buddy died about a week ago. Today I was looking at him and his tail looked like it had been cut off and was frayed. The place where tail meets body was more white than usual. The other danios are much smaller so I don't think they attacked him. He swims at the top of the tank, which I think is because of his tail, and seems to be breathing heavily. Is this fin rot? I've heard that introducing new fish can cause it, but they have been in the tank with him for almost a week and he has acted more lively than ever, not sick at all. He's about five years old, so I'm pushing it with his age anyways, but I'd really like to know what I can do for the poor guy.
1 AnswerFish10 years agoProblem with dog and hedgehog?
I bought a young hedgehog about two weeks ago. He and I are bonding fine, but I'm having trouble with my five year old sheltie-dachshund mix. She jumps up on me when I'm holding the hedgehog and when I put my hands down for her to sniff him, she tries to scrabble him. She's always been very protective of me, and I'm worried she'll hurt the hedgehog. What should I do to help my hedgehog and dog get along? I don't want to be worried about them getting in a fight for forever.
7 AnswersDogs10 years agoBent spine in a Zebra Danio? ?
I have a five gallon tank with two zebra danios. After returning from a trip, I noticed that one of the danios had a bent spine which has gotten slightly worse in the past weeks. He also looks very skinny and swims at the top of the tank and appears to be struggling to move. I know I should have started asking around sooner, but I thought he'd go back to normal soon. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with my fish and what I can do to help? I've had them for 4 years, so maybe it's just age, but I'd like to help if I can.
