Water is odorless and tasteless, and yet rain always has a distinctive smell. So the question is, what is it we are actually smelling when we smell rain? Is it the particles of dust that get caught in the water, or does the water just amplify our ability to sense the chemicals in the air?

More specifically, do you believe that powerful people are planning to enslave the world under a single world government? If so, who, why, and how?

If the main source of Global Warming is man-made emmissions of CO2, then why can't we plant forests to help make up for our Carbon outputs?

I have read recently that Global Warming is responsible; not only for extremes in Weather events, or mass extinctions in changing climates, but for the increase of Large Earthquakes throughout the world. Okay, I understand the part that has to do with our Atmosphere, but Earthquakes? How the heck does more CO2 and Methane make us have more of those?

I have recently learned that the 16 year old caller who tipped officials off to child abuse in the FLDS sect didn't and/or does not reside on the Compound to begin with. Also, the man being charged with Child abuse, who is supposedly her husband, doesn't even live in Texas.

Look, I'm not saying that this sort of abuse isn't happening. If there are men who are abusing children like this, lock them up. But does a single phone call justify the blanket rounding up of an entire community with no evidence of wrongdoing (aside from polygamy). Is it constitutional to ship people to detention centers because of their Religion, if the Child Abuse charge cannot be validated in each case?

I thought people were innocent until Proven Giulty. Are we going to break up families for a sake of a faulty source? Shouldn't they be able to tell the world their side of the story?

Something about this whole incident just doesn't feel right to me.

What kind of particles would I need to make a field around a spacecraft that would repel or deflect beam weapons? Could this same technology deflect solid objects or at least small particles like micrometeors? What would be the biggest problem in maintaining that defense system?
