I run a small business, which will have to cease trading soon.I have approached an Insolvency Practitioner to handle the process, however, he has quoted a charge of 5k to do this. The fee will be paid from the sale of the companies assets. I would like to know if i can liquidate the company without him, saving myself the fee?

I lease a rural country inn in the UK and pay 18k per year in business rates. I pay council tax for the accommodation above. I pay to have rubbish bins emptied and we are not on a bus route. The 18k is the reduced figure on appeal and i have no idea what this money is for!

How much would a plumber charge to take out an old three piece bathroom suite and fit a new suite in the same place?
