I want to offer an express delivery option on my ebay items. If I use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, what is the latest time of day I can take the parcels to the Post Office and still have them delivered the following day? I know I could ask the PO but they are shuit, and the info is not on their website.

Does anyone use the service and how reliable is it?

  • How to report franking machine cheats (in the UK)?

I sell on ebay, but I also buy a lot of items on ebay too. They often come with franking machine stamps, but some sellers dishonestly charge themselves the lowest possible price.

One seller paid £2.20 to send me an item which should have cost nearly £10.00 because of its size and weight - and he was selling hundreds of items every month!

How can I report them? Surely someone cares! They're undercutting the honest sellers and stealing from the Post Office and it's really bugging me!

  • Star Wars Episode IV : What does this line mean?

As Darth Vader & co take over Princess Leia's ship, C-3PO and R2-D2 escape with the plans in an escape pod. C-3PO looks out of the window and says, 'That's funny: the damage doesn't look as bad from out here.'

What's the plot significance of that line? Is he saying they surrendered innecessarily?

  • How do you jump start a car?

I bought a jump starter. When I read the instructions, they said, put the red clip on the positive battery terminal, and the black clip to "a clean part of the vehicle chassis, or other sturdy metal part". Surely that can't be right? The chassis is underneath the car, isn't it?

We tried attaching the black clip to the negative terminal, but the car wouldn't start. Is that really the right way to use a jump starter? Which parts would be safe to attach it to? I don't want my partner to get a hefty electric shock as he has a heart condition.

    Help!

  • Christians, does God really change his views to suit human culture?

A long time ago, Christians believed it was OK to have slaves, as long as you treated them well.

A long time ago, Christians believed God said they should not eat shellfish or bacon.

A long time ago, Christians believed homosexual activities were completely unacceptable to God.

Surely, if God really felt that way, he still does?

Isn't he eternal and unchanging? And who has heard from him lately to suggest that he's relaxed the rules?

  • You have your own private island. What 3 new laws would you enforce?

Imagine your island is fairly large, with 3 villages as well as your own beautiful mansion house. The laws of your island are the same as those of your home country, but as owner of the island, you can change or add 3 new ones. What would they be?

  • Children's sizes for making fancy dress?

I'd like to make some very simple, T-shaped fancy dress costumes with a tie belt, for children aged 2 - 10 years, but I have no children to measure. Could you give me your children's sizes for me to take an average? Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

    The sizes I need are:

    AGE

WRIST TO WRIST (across the back of the shoulders with arms spread out)

BACK OF NECK TO HEM (the hem is about half-way between knees and feet)

    UNDERARM TO WRIST

    HEAD (all the way round)

    WRIST (all the way round)

    CHEST

    WAIST

  • Question for Star Wars geeks!?

In Episode IV: A New Hope, when R2-D2 insists he belongs to Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO says to Luke's uncle, 'Our last owner was Captain Antilles.' (meaning, presumably, the captain of Princess Leia's ship). Later on, just before the attack on the Death Star, Luke meets his former friend, Wedge Antilles. What is the relationship between these two characters with the same surname?

  • Please help identify a Bucky O'Hare spaceship?

It's green on top and yellow underneath, with two orange-tinted half-egg-shaped cockpit covers. It has wings with guns which shoot three-clawed missiles.

It makes a groaning/croaking noise when rocked from side to side.

  • Why do American houses have such long numbers?

I sell things on eBay. Whenever people buy from the United States, their house number always seems to be something like 3975, Valley Road. I know it's a big country, but surely the roads can't be so long they have thousands of houses? And why does nobody ever live at the lower numbers, like number 4? or number 26?

  • Why do people live in horrible, dangerous places?

In countries like America and the UK, there are some inner-city places which are horrible, scary places where people get knifed or shot all the time, with drug dealers and pimps and other low-lifes. Why do people stay there? Why don't people feel that they should protect their children, and just start walking, and keep walking until they reach a part of the country that is safe and nice?
