I'm really interested in computer science and programming, as well as the security field and computer security. I've already taken some college classes (in high school) for a degree in mechanical engineering, when I thought that that was what I wanted to do with my life, but I know now that my real passion is in computers. I love security and computers, and hope eventually to work for some kind of a software developer, or maybe a security firm as a pen tester. I'm going to be starting college for real this fall, and though I'm pretty certain that a degree in Computer Sciences is going to be what I want to pursue, I'm not sure what the best/most relevant...(I'm not really sure how to put this to make sense) degree that I would want to pursue would be. Are Computer Sciences degrees indicatory of an IT job? (Because though I could do that for a while, I wouldn't want to do it forever) and what types of degrees/qualifications/certifications are security employers looking for?

Could anyone write me an Artemis Fowl and Evil Genius crossover where the characters meet (Artemis and Cadel and Prosper)? Whoever answers I will try to answer any of their questions (posted on Y Q&A) and best answer gets ten points.

Is there (anywhere) or could anyone make an instrumental to the song Oh Happiness by David Crowder Band?

I really like my first name, but I like my middle name for my last name better than I like my last name for my last name. Can or should I use my middle name for my last name when I'm publishing my book? It's not really a pen name. What problems would this cause (like people who know me asking why my name is different on my book).

I completely and totally love the name Alex. But I have a problem, because it seems to fit every single main female protagonist in all my different stories. I don't want to use the name on the story I'm writing now because it fits a different idea better but I'm not sure what the first story's girl's name should be. So what are some good names that fit a girl who got hit by lightning, developed synesthesia, and is a little more in her head than other people. She tends to keep to herself, and think a whole lot more then she speaks. And it has to go good with either Lightning or Storm for the last name.

I just want to know anything about lightning and how synesthesia could develop if you got hit and survived. Like...maybe the brain paths got confused?

So the interviewer asks me a question. Should I answer immediately, 2 or 3 seconds after, or can I wait about 10 seconds to form my answer? How long is rude, and persuades the interviewer that you need a really long time to think?

Okay, don't need you to design a routine for me, but I've just recently discovered how beautiful baton twirling is, and I want to start. The thing is, all I know is horizontals, figure eights, a few throws, and some tricks I made up myself while fooling around with my baton. I have tons of time to practice and everything, but I've learned all I can from the internet and reading the books on batoning at my library. I need to take some sort of classes, but my parents don't really think I'm serious about this and kinda think it's silly (though they are very supportive). I need to make a really good routine and perform it for them and maybe they'll let me take some classes. But I don't know how long it should be or what tricks I should do or what order?

I run, and I swim. When I was swimming, it really didn't help my running. But now I'm only able to run for a while. When I go back to swimming, will I be improved because of my running?

I'm a swimmer, but I want to start running to build up my endurance. But I recently found out that my legs really hurt whenever I run. First of all, what can I do to get past this? I've given my legs a rest but nothing seems to be working. Secondly, how long should I run every day to get really good?

Like, if I'm writing a spyish story, I'm going to use our government, and Russia's as the bad guys. Are there rules against using their government and everything for my story?

Like, in a book, some characters don't want to show weakness to their enemies, but shouldn't they want their enemies to underestimate the characters and exaggerate their weaknesses or something so that the characters can catch them off guard?

First, if I think about something really hard or something, can I make myself dream about it? And second, I'm writing a book and all my ideas for my books come from dreams, what can I do to make myself dream about my book so I can get more ideas? Is that possible?

Is it just stories that your mind makes up? Or is it exaggeration of past events mixed with things that happened to you that day? Why do people dream about what they dream about?

If a writer wrote a book and based one of the main characters on themselves, would that be 'frowned upon' or considered selfish in the publishing world?

Actually this is a couple of questions.

1. What workouts do olympic swimmers do to train for the olympics (gym, running, swimming, ect.) and for how long and stuff.

2. Who was the youngest olympic swimmer in the women's division and how old do you have to be nowadays to get into the olympics.

3. If I trained every day doing as much as possible, could I get into the olympics for swimming? I already know how to swim and I'm in pretty good shape.

One way is to put shock on your body (dumping ice cold water over your head or getting cut) but I want to really make myself as alert as possible without hurting myself. How do I do that?

I've already read the Uglies series, Artemis Fowl (if those count as sci-fi), Ender's Game, Starship Troopers, Star Trek, and mostly all of the books by Issac Asimov. If you guys have any suggestions?
