Family trespassing on my land and threatening to sue me.?
I just bought a new home on a large amount of acreage. On the far side of the property from our home is about 80 acres uncleared wood (owned by me now) with an old run down cabin. We had a visit from some people down the road who stated to us that their teens love to come onto the land and use the cabin as a hang out. I explained that I was going to be Farming the cleared land and would most likely be hunting on the uncleared woods (Legal in this state before you go there.) When I said this she said "Oh no you cant have guns out there the kids hand out there. I told her that I planed on using the cabin and that they would be trespassing on private owned land and that to get the cabin they will be crossing my crops and possibly doing dmg. She informed me that they would sue me should they find out I had any guns or if I tried to keep the teens out of the woods or my cabin. I did tell her that I was sorry that the property was up for sale for about 3 years and they had grown used to using it free of charge but that I own it now. I plan to hang meat at this cabin and use a walk in smoke house that we are building. I also plan on having hunting buddies up here who are just so excited to hunt on 80 private acres (We have dear, turkey, and quail here) What is the best way to deal with this family before hunting season kicks in and we are out there with guns. I have posted no trespassing singes, and ordered the fencing we need for the fields but will not be able to fence off the woods. To get to the woods you have to use our land or walk around it and come in from the back side wish is all wooded land. These kids are going to cross my land instead of walking 3 miles out of their way.
10 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoSsi and child support.?
Ok ill try to keep this short. He is on ssi and the two children combined get $83 a month because he is on ssi. He used to get that money and then give the mother an additional $17 to make 100. Recrntly it was told to the mother that he was not alliwed to get the money. It is direct deposit to mom. He says thats his child support and disnt owe her anything. He signed a document in 07 saying he would pay the mother 100 a month. So now is he behind on support since he stopped paying since the girls get the ssi money.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agocan a father restrict how far a mother can move from his home?
Can a divorced father legally restrict how far the mother can move from his home?
he has visitation only she has custody.
also can he take the children away from her on the grounds that she is unstable because she wants to move?
ok also, will the courts award custody to someone who is on ssi, only gets like $778 a month, is on ssi because he is bi-polar to the point of not being able to work.
i know these are vague terms but im curious that he dosnt make enough to pay child support for 3 years because he is on ssi, refuses to take medication because he is afraid of side affects, well ok he takes only one medication but takes the minimum amount. for 3 years would not even let his ex have the $82 a month the state awards for the children's father being on ssi until she found out she could get it direct deposit.
also why are the courts ignoring the abuse that took place during the marriage? even the children have said that they knew about it. one said she dosnt talk about it because its not fair to daddy because it makes him upset. so everyone is just ignoring this little fact.

11 AnswersWeddings1 decade agobuying new car in newport new va, why are they marked up so much over msrp?
so far i have only been able to go to two dealerships but i ran into the same issue at both.
i am looking to get a kia sorento ex (i4) with the limited package and the 3rd row seating.
the website lists it 29,790 with a 1k discount its obviously 28,790.
both dealers have this car marked up between 32,790 and 34,790.
the first dealership told me they would not lower the price at all on any vehicle and that they do not participate in any manufacture discounts or incentives (i walked away without another word, the guy did ask for my phone number etc... i told him to take 8k of his list price and i might give him my name lol needless to say i drove off)
the second dealership told me that the msrp on the website means that is what it cost to make the car and that no one makes a profit etc... because they had to buy it at msrp and pay to get it to the dealership so the 6k mark up is just a cost recoup.
ok seriously i want to know from people who work at car dealership's, what is with the huge mark up (i know msrp is not what you pay) and why not come down in price? why lie to the customer about everything. i spent some time at the second dealership as the woman there pretended to know about the car. it became obvious that she was just making it up as we went along once we go inside the car and she knew nothing etc... i asked her why the 6k mark up and got the same "we have to make a living etc..." speech.
i work in sales (100% commission i make a good deal of money without marking up my products, especially not 6-8k over should sell.) i understand commission is built into the price its only fare. but to pad the bill to earn more is ridiculous
so the next question i have is. how do i get the price below msrp without screwing over a sales person (who gets a salary and some commission.) i dont want to pay the marked up price and dont understand that why the mark up?

3 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoso Obama gets re- elected in 2012?
here is why and how. the tea party movement is looking for people to run for president. this person will split the republican vote and Obama wins the vote again.
so basically this tea party is really not a good thing for those who do not like obama. the other issue is, is that when they put up more people for congress etc..... that split the vote and dems keep their seats. tea party isnt exactly a good thing if you dont like the way dems are working things.
10 AnswersElections1 decade agoodd situation. friend suing friend.?
ok so here is the deal.
I have two friends who didnt know each-other (one is from when i was in the Navy and the other from school after i left the navy.)
ok so friend A was moving but needed a truck to help move some items about 5 miles to his new apt.
I asked a friend of mine from the Navy if we could use his truck to move with. He not only offered his tuck he offered to help us move. Well anyway to keep this short we start the move and load up his truck with items from the house etc..
My friend from the Navy forgets to close the bed of the truck and gets in and starts to drive off. The TV and Subwoofer fall out and get broken. Obviously my friend from school is pissed off about the incident. My Navy friend felt bad about it and offered to take him to best buy that day and get him a new TV and Subwoofer.
you would think that would have solved the issue right? well we get to best buy and my friend from school wants an $800 subwoofer to replace is (at the time he bought it) $200 subwoofer stating "well they dont make that kind anymore so you have to buy a better one plus it has sentimental value" followed by picking out a nearly $4k TV. His TV was some off brand that at the time he bought it was A. used B. even brand new cost under $200 at wal-mart.
My Navy friend is not going to spend $5k on this guy obviously but was offering to buy him this package deal that came with a 32 or 36 inch HDTV Samsugn i think and a sound bar with subwoofer. it was on sale for just under $1k and not on sale like $1200 or something.
well they got into a big fight in best buy (verbal) they wanted me to choose sides and to be honest i had to side with my Navy buddy on principle and ontop of that i think he was being more than nice and fare.
so now my friend from school (shouldn't really call him a friend anymore) is going to take my Navy friend to small claims court for the maximum amount of money he can get.
Can me and my Navy friend win this even though he admits fully to not closing the tale gate on accident. i mean he offered reasonable solution to the problem and tried to resolve the issue that very day. I mean it was an accident he didnt try to break this stuff on purpose.

Who would have thought that one of Barack Obama's biggest missteps as president would be repeating some of the bad habits of George W. Bush?
Obama has mimicked some of Bush's most egregious blunders, leading to much of the political predicament in which the present decider finds himself today.
Obama's stumbles atop the high-wire of running the federal government has created perhaps the greatest danger to his presidency, and they are oddly reminiscent of the misguided practices which tripped up his predecessor
No chief economic spokesperson
Failure to integrate policy, politics, and communication
Tying the Adminstration's fate too closely to his own party's congressional leadership
Failing to empower Cabinet members on domestic policy
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agohaving a mormon family over for a nice dinner.?
ok so we are having a huge family function this coming christmas. we have invited about 400 people and the even will be held at a local resort. ok so i have some issues here. we have a large group of the family that is mormon about 80 or so. well the dinner even will be very very nice but as we all know mormons do not drink coffee, tea, or alcohol. i have asked them if they mind it being served at the event. the general consensus is that its ok they just will not drink it.
my issue is that i really want this to be a nice even for everyone there. so what are some good drinks for our LDS family that can be on the menu? i know people will say soda and whatnot but is there anything else that might be nice for a memorable evening with family?
keep in mind that i have never done anything like this before and am a little overwhelmed as it is (i have some other friends and family helping but this entire thing will be a one time event for me as i do not wish to do this again lol)
i know planning this thing out this far in advance may sound crazy to you all but think of this. lodging for 400 people, feeding 400 people, getting 400 people out here (buss, plain, train, car etc...) some will need some money help to be able to attend. then to top that off my job gets super busy starting in aug through the end of november. i want to get as much done now as possible lol.
9 AnswersEntertaining1 decade agomyers briggs personality test?
Ok so i had an interview a couple days ago however, before i even got to that point i had to go in and take some tests (aptitude and a personality test). I am applying for a technical sales position (very technical as the clients I will be selling to will understand the product and have been using it for years etc.... im selling servers and back up systems for large companies). well to get on with it we were talking about my personality test and i am a entj. as we were talking about this test he asked if i had ever taken a myers briggs test before to which i responded yes in high-school (im 30 so that was like 12 years ago) and i was an INTP. he was shocked by this and told me "wow to go from a INTP to an ENTJ is a huge jump". my question is; is that a bad thing or a good thing. how does my personality type affect my ability to sale and also is that big of a change a bad thing?
little back ground on me.
i went to art school out of high school then joined the Navy as a Corpsman, served with the marines for most of that enlistment, had 3 back to back combat deployments, got out of the navy went to school, got a job in sales with a software company, and am now trying to get a job with a much better company.
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoDo not call lists, publicly posted phone numbers, and solicitation.?
OK first off a little history.
I work for a brand new company that specializes in website SEO and custom software development etc...
we are currently amongst other marketing techniques cold calling companies that we think could benefit from seo.
i know people hate calls of this kind, we only call the businesses and only at specific times. we have had tremendous luck with this.
well i just had two people in organ get mad as they are on a do not call list (first time i have had issues with this) one guy asked for my company info, website, phone number etc... (i gave it all to him) he said it was illegal to call people in the state of organ unless they first call you if their number is on the do not call list.
so what i would like to know is, am i obligated to get this list and look up every number i wish to call?
i do not get my numbers from some data base i actually go through magazine adds and look at the websites before i call. no point in just calling people randomly as that really dosnt work as well as being somewhat informed about potential clients.
so if i get my numbers from a magazine, tv, or website is it illegal to call a company?
lastly what kind of legal action can be taken?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoMy land lord says i have a 13 month lease i say six; what is it?
Ok here is the deal. i want to move out in 2 months. i say i am doing exactly what the lease says but my land lord says i have a 13 month lease.
this is exactly how my lease is typed out [i will leave out names].
THIS AGREEMENT, entered into this may 1, 2009 to june 1, 2010 by and between ___ _____ LLC, hereinafter Lessor, and ,, hereinafter _____ _ _____
WITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of the payment of the rents and the perfomance of the convenants contained on the part of the Lessee, said Lessor does hereby demise and let unto Lessee, and Lessee hires from the Lessor those premises described as: located at **___ ____ ______ for a tenancy for six months lease comencing on the May 1 day of 2009 and at a monthly rental of Eight Hun dred and No Dollars payable monthly in advance on the 1st day of each and every month, on the following TERMS AND CONDITONS: Landord pays monthly for All Utilities Monthly by the Landlord Name ______ _ _____ ____ _____ LLC
A refundable rental deposit of $ four Hundred Dollars applies to this rental agreement for all roommate in the Home Share Rental Agreement Non Refundable
1. Lessee agrees to pay rent each month of the form of one personal check OR one chashier's check, cash or one money order made out to ___ ____ ___ LLC his portion of rent from the total amount due of ($800)
{it goes on to talk about rules late fees etc...}
now here comes the part of how this lease is broken.
21. TERMINATION. This Agreement and the tenancy herby granted may be terminated at any time by either party hereto by giving to the other party not less that on full month's prior notice in writing. After expiration date of the Lease Agreement
the above is taken directly from the lease exactly as it is written (including spelling and spacing etc...)
so do i have a six month lease, or do i owe her for the rest of the year? I thought that the contract was for the 1 year period and the leas obligation was for 6 months. so that the rules set in the contract were for one year but that after the 6 months i could move out or whatever without penalty.
also do i have to give her the address of the place i am moving to?
before i get berated by some of you. i have paid rent ontime or early, never been a problem to her at all. I just want to move (found a much better place etc..)
** she just put the street address of the house but not the city county or even the state etc....
5 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agosisters bank threatening to take her home. she is ahead on payments but the home is worth much less than the..?
My sisters bank has called her threatening to "recall" her loan. she is ahead on her payments by 8 months, has never made a late payment on anything, and has outstanding credit.
i have seen her finances and other than the fact that her home has dropped in value so much that her loan from several years ago is worth probably 3 times what her home is now worth. yeah yeah i know i know she bought the home for way to much but she can afford it etc...
can the bank do this? it dosnt sound right to me but then it is their loan and their home so i guess they can demand all the money upfront when they feel they need to.
should she get a lawyer? is it even worth it or should she just get an apt and let the bank have the house back?
i dont understand how they would think that she is a danger to them? like you know not going to repay the loan or something. she is 8 months ahead on payments and has never been late. would her having just bought a car bring down her credit score enough for the bank to consider this?
9 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoCan my land lord make me pay rent after i move out?
Ok so i have a lease that is for 14 months however the lease states that after six months either party can break the lease for any reason by giving the other party a written notice of 30 days. it says nothing about further obligation to pay rent etc for the remainder of the contract. to my understanding if you can break the lease with written notice for any reason then there would be no obligation to pay anything as long as the 6 months was fulfilled.
it also states that the term of the obligation is to be set for 6 months "however and to forth and unto it the lessee or lessor unto both shall not be obligated past the 6 month time period set forth hereunto this contract."
from my understanding i was only obligated to 6 months per the lease. i have been here more than the 6 months time frame. i have given my landlord a 30 day notice. she has told me i will have to continue to pay rent until she finds someone to rent the place. she further told me the lease obligated me to 14 months of rent and that i would have to pay her the remaining rent in full or sign a new contract saying i would continue to pay her monthly until she rented the place to her satisfaction.
my land lord is a little crazy is why i am moving out. yeah she even said that if she had to she would lower the rent of the place but i would have to make up the rest until my contract was up.
i am in VA is this even legal?
can she call me daily to scream and yell at me over the phone about how i have *#&#ed her financially. she has 11 homes and 7 are now empty do to her craziness and her bank is threatening to call in on 3 loans that are now worth more that all of her properties combined to do the housing slump.
i know renters law usually takes the land lords word over everything else regardless but can i get a restraining to make her stop calling me. she also found out were i am moving to ( i have no clue how she did that) and has already gone over to that place. i cant move in there for another 20 days. is there anyway i can make her leave me alone? can she even be showing up at my new apt blding? and can she find out what unit i will live in?

i just recently took a color blind test. the one with the dots with numbers in it.
the DR. was shocked that i could see all the numbers even the ones were if your color blind you can see.
how is it possible that i could easily see these numbers
i didnt have to stare at them or do anything special to see them.
i would just look at it and see the numbers etc...
anyone know how this is possible?
i do have an astigmatism in both eyes if that is any help.
they had to give me this test with lights to make sure i had normal vision (as far as color goes) i passed lol.
1 AnswerOptical1 decade agoWings chun and power (effectiveness)?
ok so here is the deal. i am looking for a martial arts form that is more of a self defense than for show in the ring. im not taking away from the guys in mma i love watching that stuff however, i am looking for something that will server me well in a true fight if something happened on the streets.
i was a Corpsman assigned to the marines and did 3 combat deployments. i earned several belts in the MCMAP and would like to continue with a martial arts that will allow me to defend myself.
i have had people say judo is good but i know from experience the last place you want to be is on the ground especially with several attackers. even if you win in that scenario you will have broken bones etc...
i came accross this guy Tony Massengill. this kung fu looks like it would be highly affective especially at close range. i have never had a real fight at long range with an attacker.
my thing is that i have seen some videos of people doing this art and they are very fast at what they do. one video on youtube called something like "wing chun fast hands" was impressive to watch but with that speed the guy had no power. if he hit me like that is a real fight i would laugh.
so what i am wondering is, is this martial arts style affective in real life. i would like to know from people who may have had to use it or know of someone who has. im talking about real life here not some fight in the cage were throat strikes are no allowed; im talking real life were you walk away or you dont.
no i am not looking to get into a fight with random people but you never know what can happen. i have used my MCMAP as a civilian, long story. i would just like to improve on this training.
any advice or feedback would be nice.

No seriously that crazy man (Omar Khadafi) on tv today said we killed over 1.5 million non combatant civilians.
i spent 3 combat deployments in that country (was a Corpsman assigned with the Marines) and i didnt see the death camps or the trains taking all these people to the camps.
or did we just shoot them in the cities and leave them there to rot? i didnt see that many civilian bodys dead in the streets.
so were did we kill all these people?
he also said the war in Iraq is the worst human rights violation in history! dude what about the Nazis? what was it like 6 million Jews were killed by them but our little war is worse; just wow!
