  • Who can relate to these questions about how different america and India are .when it comes to love I want to know what you think?

In America, we marry (by choice/a commitment) the person we love (a feeling). In India, the primary concept of marital love is commitment to a relationship. In America and the west, we marry the person we have the deepest feelings for at the time. Because our view of marriage is often built upon a feeling, when the feelings leave, we often do as well. As you can imagine, America consequently has a high divorce rate, while India remains low.

    1. What are the strengths of the Indian view of love? How does commitment impact relationships, marital and otherwise?

    2. What are the dangers of the Indian perspective?

    3. What are the strengths of the western idea of love? What is the impact of choosing to love people we have loving feelings toward in marriage and otherwise?

    4. What are the dangers of living according to feelings?

  • need help with this question it has to do with indigenous religions and culture.?

People today generally do not experience the intimate connection with nature, each other and animals that is so important to indigenous religions. Except for household pets, many people experience animals only in zoos, on TV or in packages at the grocery store. People experience vegetables, fruits, and other foods in the same way. The only time you see them is far from the natural source. We pave roads and bulldoze land to build large homes on small lots. The roofs of our homes are just feet away from the neighbors. Yet, we don't talk to our neighbor. Instead, we push a button to open our garage door when we arrive, and another to close it once we're inside. These and countless other factors separate people, nature and animals.

What are some aspects of modern culture and society that separate us from nature? Weigh the benefits against the negative impact for us? What should we do, if anything, about this separation

  • question about religion for a religion class?

In the United States, a person's religious identity, beliefs, and practices are protected, and the government is restrained from interfering in or promoting any religion. But what does that really mean? How can we promote religious freedom unless we have a workable definition of religion? And whose religion, in our highly pluralistic society, is going to be the norm?

Think about the relationship between the definition of religion (what counts and what doesn't) and the potential for repression, persecution, or on the other hand, cultural domination. How do minority religious communities fare in America? Which religions are acceptable, and which ones are marginalized or even denigrated? Why does this happen?

i have some questions to ..

    1. It is one-sided and biased, for sure, however no matter what you feel about Fox News, the real issue is how can one man be allowed to influence 3/4 of the population of the world unchecked?

2.What does this say about the lack of competition in the communications and media business? What can you do about it?

    3. Do you think it is a concern that FOX media shows fear - of strangers, "others", religions, political beliefs? It implies that we need protection from those "differences". Do we??
