Which Type of Warrants Are Entered Nationally? Regionally? (Into NCIC)?

Just wondering the process...if you violate probation, is that grounds to come get you in Alaska if your warrant is in Massachusetts? Do they come thousands of miles for you for child support?

Each state has different practices. For some the entry to NCIC is automatic, for others it has to be authorized.

Basically putting a warrant in NCIC means the state issuing it is telling other states that they will come and get the person if found elsewhere. This is VERY expensive for agencies. So, at least in CA, the run of the mill warrants for felonies are only put in NCIC when the DA approves (aside from murder and a few others where it is automatic).

SO, you question depends upon why the warrant is issued. IF it for child support, they probably won't come to get you but two things can or will happen. The first is that the warrant is in the system, so you CAN be arrested where you are, even if they don't come and get you. The second is that there are many worse ways for law enforcement to collect. Including garnishing wages etc.

    Good Luck!

all warrants expect some bench warrants for city offenses go into NCIC.

Now what happens, ( this happens all the time) you stop someone in Atlanta GA with a warrant for them in California, you are allowed to hold them 30 minutes while you verify the warrant. Your dispatcher ( supervisor) will contact the supervisor on duty at the police department with the warrant.

They will ask them if they want them detained and arrested.

( basicly will they come and get them) if they say yes, you arrest them and bring them to the jail.

But unless it is close on minor things, even some not so minor, if it is too far they will say no, to go ahead and let the person go.

That does not do away with the warrant, each time that person is stopped, the process is done over and over,

So it is completely up to the police departnet 1000 miles away and thier policy if they will come and get you or not.

They will possibly come get you depending on the offense. Some will allow you to bond out in one jail and set up a court date for you. Others will come get you no matter what. Any and all warrants are entered. The best bet is no not violate your probation and exit state thus causing further action that you might not want!
