You'll have to decide for yourself as well as check with your doctor to see what is and isn't okay.

First get some extra virgin olive oil and some herbal cayenne powder at about 100,000 heat units if possible. Mix about two tablespoons of olive oil with about 1 and a half tablespoons of cayenne powder. I have bad knees and circulation in my right leg. The doctor's are amazed that I am not taking their drugs but my leg is better and stronger. I exercize with light weights several times a week. After exercizing I apply the olive oil/cayenne concoction straight to the knee and the leg. This brings the blood to the surface and breaks up calcium deposits that cause bad knees. I also drink a teaspoon of cayenne powder in a warm cup of pure water, this cleans up any circulation problems by healing blood clots. I don't eat red meat. I eat quite a lot of raw(in salads) vegetables and either steamed or stir-fried with tofu. I don't drink milk unless it is soy milk. I walk at least two to four miles every day. I turn 59 tomorrow and feel great. I drink about 6 to 8 bottles of pure water and two cups of the warm cayenne mixture every day. I also try to stay away from junk foods and I quit drinking sodas(the major cause of osteoporosis in women and some men). I eat more fruit and drink only organic fruit juices. Try at least some of these things and your knees and legs will feel better after about a month to 6 weeks and you will find that you will have lost about as much weight as you want and converted it to muscle instead. Good luck, and don't forget, the walking will do the job for you with the pure water too.

alright tacogirl ill answer your query. never underestimate time when it comes to losing weight. remember, no two people are identical, what may work or seem easy may not be so to the next person. Lay off the snacks, junk food, fast food and late night eating. Drink plenty of water, it will help your body detoxify itself and keep it running cleaner. You can also drink green tea, it has a thermogenic effect and intensifies the burning process when you exercise. No fatty foods such as peanut butter, processed sausages, etc. No starches: breads, chips, etc. Lay off too much rice it also fattens. You can eat lean meats white meats, tuna (inwater) fish, vegetables (if you cant stand them like i do, eat them with some croutons or other toppings making it favorable to ingest). Eat every 3 hours or so, thie way you encourage your metabolism and you keep it constantly active. Keep yourself busy, that is another way of burning off calories without even knowing it. You can try many exercises that wont impact your knees: reaching exercises, you can try situps while keeping your knees on top of an exercise ball. that way you keep them inlimited movement while still working on your abs which will help your midsection. as for your your obliques (lateral muscles on your mids) use this format http://www.exrx.net/StretchImages/Obliques/LyingBe...

do as much crunches as you can alternating sides.

As far as your butt, you could try holding a medicine ball between your thighs and bringing it back to your chin, slowly as you would work your butt and hamstrings, dont overdo this one tho, take your time. with patience, fitness and a good diet you will soon see improvements. Walking also helps, but this too may take a toll on your knees, so be perceptive of your limitations. This should help you mainly in your stomach, although nowadays a butt is an asset and you shouldnt overkill it, focus on eating healthy and staying active and you'll be set.

Sit-ups and crunches have nothing to do with your knees. neither does using drumbells. you can also do pilates Ibelieve. Will dancing around like an idiot strain your knees? Cause that helps me control my weight! Umm I saw on TV that swimming is cools for messed up ankles so probably knees too.

Water aerobics and swimming are great low-to-no-impact workouts. The water takes the weight off of your joints while adding resistance.

Bicycling or swimming will do it. Also, you should explore having your knees repaired by an orthopedist..... they can fix many knees via outpatient surgery. Good luck.
