Do fit flops actually work, or is it yet another gimmick to get me to spend my hard earned cash?
I've been reading today about the new British footwear craze called "Fit Flops," a flip-flop type shoe that supposedly helps to tone the legs and buttocks simply by being worn while walking. The articles tend to be more of the women's magazine type that simply describe the shoe and what it's alleged to do, rather than being any sort of testimonial as to if they work or not. I was wondering if anyone on Yahoo Answers had used a pair of these and knew whether or not they are a "miracle shoe" or just a really freaking expensive pair of flip-flops.

I've never heard of them before, but I too can see how it could work. It doesn't claim to burn fat, just tone muscle (similar to the MBTs which are very popular, my boss's wife has a pair and swears they work).
From what they say, it sounds like it would have similar affects to standing on a balance trainer.

I wouldn't waste my oney on that so called "miracle fat burner" even if there were testimonials. There are no shortcuts for working out and burning calories with an accelerated heatrate. Maybe the shoes are so comfy that they inspire the wearer to get on their feet and do something!

Honestly, I'd stay away from any products that claim to be "miracles". Especially if there is no science to back it up.There are better-proven ways to tone those areas and lose weight. I'd stick with the old fashioned "eat healthy and exercise".

i personally havent tried them, it sounds like a great idea though!
i can see why they would work--
its like wearing weights on your ankles and adding weights gives you more toned, muscular legs so i think it might be worth it (i dont know how much they are though)
