I don't think they'll announce the new Apostle until the next General Conference, presumably in the Saturday morning session. That's the normal procedure. The first presidency is a different matter-- a new presidency will be called immediately after the Prophet's death. We'll have to wait until April to find out who our new apostle will be.

It will probably not be until the General Conference in April that the announcement will come.
That is how Apostles are usually announced, in Conference.

Thomas S. Monson is the new President, but they don't usually announce a new member of the Twelve until General Conference, which is in April.

I assume it will be announced at the April Conference. That's typically when it's done.
