Okay, another question for a scared cat hiding.?

A Siamese kitten appeared in our office which is separate from our home. She/he hides all day and comes out at night to eat, etc. The problem is: she/he hides in a place we can't get to her. It's been 6 days and my question is, should I set up a bed and sleep in the office at night hoping she/he will get used to me around at night? Any other helpful tips? She/he eats, drinks and uses the litter box great.

How long will a kitten stay hidden?

I'd try luring her out with a shoelace. Most cats just can't resist playing with strings. (which should never be left unattended, because if a cat eats such a thing it's deadly.) Little tiny paper balls also fascinate cats. Little tiny paper balls pulled by a string, may be another way to lure her out. Be patient and smart. See if you can get her to come out, but just keep playing with her till she seems to trust you. If so, maybe quickly stroke her back, but then continue the play, so she doesn't think you are trying to grab her. Hopefully she'll get to the point where she's rubbing her head on you and letting you tickle her chin. Then think about having a cat carrier ready! Is someone at work going to take her home? If not hopefully there's a no kill shelter you can get her to....I'm a strong believer in bonding with animals through play and trying not to force the issue with them to get them to stop hiding. Spending the night with her & playing is what I'd do! Taking her to the vet is a great suggestion....

well if u have seen the cat and it is used 2 u try 2 see if the cat will come out if it does take it 2 the vet.

  • I hate it when my cat does this!

I always manage to grab her out but getting some laces and just walking around the room with it she'll eventually want to pounce on it and when she does just grab her.
