Revelation 5:1-5

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Space is typically thought of as a very quiet place. But one team of astronomers has found a strange cosmic noise that booms six times louder than expected.
The roar is from the distant cosmos. Nobody knows what causes it.
Of course, sound waves can't travel in a vacuum (which is what most of space is), or at least they can't very efficiently. But radio waves can.
Radio waves are not sound waves, but they are still electromagnetic waves, situated on the low-frequency end of the light spectrum.
Many objects in the universe, including stars and quasars, emit radio waves. Even our home galaxy, the Milky Way, emits a static hiss (first detected in 1931 by physicist Karl Jansky). Other galaxies also send out a background radio hiss.
But the newly detected signal, described here today at the 213th meeting of the American Astronomical Society, is far louder than astronomers expected.
There is "something new and interesting going on in the universe," said Alan Kogut of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
A team led by Kogut detected the signal with a balloon-borne instrument named ARCADE (Absolute Radiometer for Cosmology, Astrophysics, and Diffuse Emission).
In July 2006, the instrument was launched from NASA's Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility in Palestine, Texas, and reached an altitude of about 120,000 feet (36,500 meters), where the atmosphere thins into the vacuum of space.
ARCADE's mission was to search the sky for faint signs of heat from the first generation of stars, but instead they heard a roar from the distant reaches of the universe.
"The universe really threw us a curve," Kogut said. "Instead of the faint signal we hoped to find, here was this booming noise six times louder than anyone had predicted."
Detailed analysis of the signal ruled out primordial stars or any known radio sources, including gas in the outermost halo of our own galaxy.
Other radio galaxies also can't account for the noise – there just aren't enough of them.
"You'd have to pack them into the universe like sardines," said study team member Dale Fixsen of the University of Maryland. "There wouldn't be any space left between one galaxy and the next."
The signal is measured to be six times brighter than the combined emission of all known radio sources in the universe.
For now, the origin of the signal remains a mystery.
"We really don't know what it is,"said team member Michael Seiffert of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

Interesting news item, but I don't see the Lion of Judah connection. First, the radio signal is described as a static hiss, not a roar, though it is loud. Second, where in that Bible passage does it mention a roar from the Lion? It mentions an angel with a loud voice (not static). An unexplained cosmological observation need not be supernatural. The title "Lion of Judah" is of course symbolic - Jesus is not an actual lion. So the he would not make actual lion sounds. Satan is also described in the Bible as a "roaring lion" (1 Peter 5:8).
Here are some Bible passages referring to the roar of the Lion of Judah, but they mostly refer to Him roaring from Zion, not outer space. One refers to Him roaring from "on high", which could be outer space - or Mt Zion. In any case, it is symbolism - probably not an actual roaring sound.
"The Lord will roar from on high, and utter His voice from His holy habitation..." (Jeremiah 25:30)
"The Lord roars from Zion, and utters His voice from Jerusalem..." (Amos 1:2)
"They shall walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion. When He roars, then His sons shall come trembling from the west; they shall come trembling like a bird from Egypt, like a dove from the land of Assyria." (Hosea 11:10)
"The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel." (Joel 3:16)

Well, it's hardly the first "mysterious signal from outer space" that we have detected - not by a long shot. It will likely not be the last, either. The fact that it is 6 times larger than *expected* hardly makes it a "roar". Indeed, since we have not detected it previously, clearly it is quite a bit less than a "roar"..... It's simply the signal (yet another) from an unknown radio source.
2) voice of the Lion of the tribe of Judah?
Well, as it is a radio signal, not a vocal one, it would appear to have nothing to do with the "Lion of Judah" - unless he is announcing his return by radio. Besides, the signal is not the sort that corresponds to speech. I hope that Jesus doesn't require all of us to be listening to the radio at the moment when he announces his return...
Just another natural phenomenon that, like most, has been discovered before it has been explained. By year's end, there will likely be at least a half dozen theories to explain it.

Perhaps this could be due to black holes or perhaps something a local Government is up to, but is classified from NASA.
We really don't know... Speculation doesn't give us any conclusions as of yet, only possible leads. Could be as you seem to speculate, If God is giving us a signal, but again we must wait for real conclusiveness. If God is able to cloak spiritual vision of things & science cannot measure things on this realm... then He is also more than capable of cloaking sounds in the spiritual realm.
Only time will tell.

Interesting indeed. Yesterday there was something on Fox about a "cosmic storm" that could do heavy damage to our planet. Global warming and all that money making propaganda matters not, since it cannot control the beginning or the end of our world. That roar from outer space may very well be the lion of judah.

Hmm. That space thing sounds interesting; either they just messed up somewhere lol jk or they're discovering something new. But I really believe that has nothing to do with Revelation 5. Rev. 5 there is talking about Jesus (Revelation's all symbolic ya know lol Jesus is the Lion. He's also mentioned as a Lamb in the very next verse! lol there's some things like that in Rev where it says something, then in the next verse it almost sounds like the opposite but really it's the exact same thing lol)

The Bible tells us that the Universe is continually expanding. I have also read and heard that when scientists listen to the Universe with sensitive listening devices they can hear a humming sound, as if the Universe is singing. Good question, my friend.

Never mind the scoffers. The Bible is clear that in the last days, there will be many. I find your question and article provided to be quite interesting.
Scientist are also predicting a great earthquake to hit California around 2020. At the same time a meteor to strike, and check out the info coming out of yellostone park. People better get ready and stop thinking that God is a joke. When their being coaxed into taking a mark on their right hand or forehead maybe they'll think that to be a scientific, technological breakthrough/benefit rather than their sealed eternal doom.
Repent, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Interesting science but no it is not the roar of the Lion of Judah. The roar of the Lion of Judah strikes fear in the heart of ungodly men and speaks of the judgment on sin.
It is that which can not be withstood by any enemy.
Interested in science and the Bible, Check out the asteroid due to visit us in 2029, 2034,2035 It was a real threat scientifically. It is no surprise to the LORD. He warned me about it specifically a few years ago. It has been an issue of prayer.

Of course!
A cosmic phenomenon is Jesus having a shouting match across space.
And planets aren't revolving around the sun balanced by momentum, centrifugal force and gravity, instead there are angels pushing them around on orbit.
And you know that protons have the same charge, and similar charges repel.
They aren't held to the neutrons by gravity, no! They are held in place by the atom angels!
