The courts is an easier way to solve these issues. They can figure out a fair an equitable child support payment arrangement based on your incomes and your medical insurance coverages.
This is how it's normally done.

This is something you need to do in court. What you need to do is file a motion in court. Generally, child support is based on a specific formula depending on income. It must be a fair arangement. If the judge deems it unfair, he will send you to a room where you can negotiate the amount with the help of a court worker. Things get ugly with child support - of course, this depends on the parties. Good Luck!

Your Attorney General can file charges so that your ex will have the child support garnished from his wages and if he doesn't pay he can face probation, jail, etc. Many women have raised their children for 18 years without any support. The sooner you face that this is his responsibility the sooner you will start getting help. Yes, I agree, try to be civil, but when that doesn't help, then you must take legal action. If you don't have an attorney there are many attorneys who will be glad to help you with this.

You are going to have to get a lawyer or file a motion with the court or child support agency yourself. Don't write him a letter it is not up to him. Also if you don't have it court ordered he does not have to pay you and if he does pay you he can stop at anytime

You don't need to write anything.
You go to the court and petition him or her for child support.
The court will take it from there. They will look at both of your assets and income and then tell you both who owes what.

I would suggest telling him that the children are his responsibility as well as yours, and that since he has left the home and is not paying bills and so forth as he would do if he were still living there, then it is reasonable for him to provide financial help for your children. And make sure that you make a copy of whatever you send him! I hope this helps.
