How do you stop a thief?

Somebody in my apartment building keeps stealing decorations off my door. First, it was a patriotic decoration I had last summer. This year it was a little seasonal decoration. These things don't cost that much but I it's wrong and I can't stand thieves. Does anybody know something tricky I could do to deter them or at least make them wish he or she hadn't decided to steal from me?

For your information the thief is the most afraid person .

First: you can put an Ray chip in all your entrance to your house( make it in visible) , so the thief cant see it .

make that Ray connected with the TV (before you go sleep put the volume at most!!!).

the trick must be like this : the Ray cross the theif`s body the TV turned on , once the theif see that I`m Garnette that he will run away!!!!

here is what i did. i started noticing that when certain individuals visited things would turn up missing. i am a electronic freak, i guess so i set up many cameras and recorded when these folks were present. i caught them red handed and then i showed the evidence to them. you would be surprised by some of the people who ae guilty of this. so called normal, employed people that do not even need these things and there were a lot of them. kinda makes you sick.

PS. I REALLY FELT BADLY ABOUT DOING THIS AT FIRST BUT WHEN FOUND OUT WHO THESE PEOPLE WERE I FELT VINDICATED. i didn't like doing this and hope i never have to again.

BUY A GUN!!! Just kidding, report it, although its so minor the police wont take it up. Maybe leave a note to the thief to say that u'll cut off his balls if u catch him, I'm not kidding or trying to be funny, threats can scare people and thats what i would do...Report him to the apartment owner? maybe...but how will that work...Hide a small nanny camers in the potplants maybe and u can see who it is, the u could go kick their asses, thats an option too. Hope I helped!

put a discreet notice in your lobby saying that you lost some of your decoration (don't say steal) that had a special sentimental value to you that it belonged to your grandmother and gave it to you as a birthday gift. then you ask if anyone found it to return it in return for a small reward (a box of chocolate or something) this is an appeal to their humanity and also you may find out who did it and keep on eye on them in the future.

Stick some dog poo on your decorations. I know its a bit digusting but once the theif steels your decorations it is very unlikley they will ever think of doing it again after having touched dog crap.

if that happens just to you then it might be from someone trying to piss you off

stop buying those decorations for a while and start again after 3-6 months

The easiest way is to set up a hidden camera pointed at your door. Have a motion sensor installed (so that it only goes on when someone moves passed it) and find out who it is.

Well call the man in charge of the apartment place and say someone is stealing your stuff, and make him wanna go around trying to find out who it was.... and they'll think the police will arrest them and they'll feel better by giving it back..... try it.... non violence... good plan

Have a piece of string attached to it from inside, tied to the trigger of a shotgun facing the door.

Or just stop hanging up decorations.

Maybe it is the building supervisor. Many apartment building managers frown on external decoration.
