Something that is confusing me.... Does the bible condem incest?

Many believe there were 2 creations of woman. First Lilith, then Eve. We don't know how long of time period there was in between. If there was 2 then I guess Cain would have mated with his half sister. If not his full blooded sister. We are only told about Cain & Abel. That doesn't mean there weren't other children. Even if they were teens there could have been others even if only one mother. The oldest & youngest fight more often when there are other kids for some reason.

It wasn't condemned until the law came with Moses and even then he was like 80. In God's eyes ignorance of the law is an excuse. In the New Testament Paul clearly says until the law man was judged by his conscience.

Look at it this way. Say all your life you lust after someone's spouse. Then one day someone in authority tell you that's wrong. You either stop or try to hide it. But you aren't charged with a crime until you're aware it's a law.

Incest is condemned over & over. Yet not before the law. Even after the law there were times when every man done what was right in his own eyes. But for those times they were held accountable by the Lord.

Btw Jam christians didn't even exist then. There was no religion and all of mankind originated from Adam/Eve or possibly Adam/Lilith or Lilith/demons. But the flood killed all but Noah & his family. So basically we're all distant cousins, descended from Noah.

There wasn't an Adam and Eve or Cain and Abel. it's a story of how we started. In order for that to be true it would mean that Cain and Abel had sex with their mother for us all to be here. That's incest. The bible condemns it.

The objection to incest in our culture is based on the fact that such relationships can lead to genetic illnesses, so it is unwise for close relatives to become sexually intimate. Physical abnormalities are increased where communities are closed-off to outside relationships - Royal families, for example, needed to bring in outside parties every so often to limit genetically-based illnesses. British bulldogs and King Charles spaniels have been so in-bread that the former are nothing like the fit dogs they were 100 years ago, and the latter often suffer with extreme headaches and fits!

From a Spiritual perspective, all sex is an idol or attachment to the illusion of the world, so ultimately will need to be set aside in order to move to a higher level of existence. This is why leaders of some religions and spiritual practice aim to become celebate, but enforcement of such restrictions can cause issues! It has to be a personal choice based on one's existing level of enlightenment, rarely something that you can just give up!

Interesting question because it alludes to a lot of things in the Bible God does say like "not marrying outside of your tribe". Well, that's obviously withing you rown family.

When God created humans, He originally intended for them all to become one blood and be obedient. However, if you sin, i.e. disobey God's commandments, you get curses.

In the old days when there were fewer people and the for the most part obedient to God, it was okay to intermarry. This was to emulate the end of times when God plans to add us to His spiritual kingdom meaning we would change into spirit and become like our brother Christ. We would have to look like Him in the same way a child looks like His parent.

Nowadays, sleeping within your kin can have bad affects. The body isn;t as pure as it used to be.

Don't you mean first there was Adam and Eve? But yeah, all of their children were male. Future generations would have had to have come from somewhere. Make of that what you will.

There were obviously more humans created than just Adam and Eve, but to simplify things for people, God gave Moses, and later Mohammed, the simple story of one man and his wife - Adam and Eve.

i dont know... what i do know is that sexual pollution has no boundaries here in this polluted realm... it is a process that began when man bad-stepped out of the divine circle (generic story of adam) and regardless of how man justifies it, it is still polluted.... when jesus came there were two basic practices, the jew's blessed participation and the gnostic's holy abstinence.... the teachings of paul and jesus concerning this holy abstinence apparently were just too stringent for most people's minds, thus what we have today

God could have created other people. The Bible does not have to tell us everything we want to know, just the things we need to know.

If it told us everything we wanted to know it would be bigger than a set of encyclopedias.

Actually, if you study genealogy, a lot of our ancestors married their cousins a few hundred years ago, when there were small communities that were far away from each other, they couldn't get around much, so they had to take the closest.

So there are a lot of us that are from incestuous marriages.

god did allow this for the beginning of the human population, but he also made other rules when the human race had grown enough, the bible condemns it, cos there is NO NEED for it is there??? there are plenty of sexual parteners.

i always wondered that...adam and eve had kids...then what? so christians are a bunch of inbreed freaks i guess ( no offense meant). lol

P.S. it is all a fairy tale, you should concern yourself with more important questions like, if jack and jill went up the hill...
