Scientists claim there are no differences in lab animals and humans that cannot be factored into tests.
# Human life has greater intrinsic value than animal life.(APPARENTLY, i dont agree but yeah..)
# Legislation protects all lab animals from cruelty or mistreatment.
# Millions of animals are killed for food every year - if anything, medical research is a more worthy death.
# Few animals feel any pain as they are killed before they have the chance to suffer.
BTWWW,, IDK WHERE YOUR FROM.. BUT ANIMAL TESTING IS ACTUALLY BAN IN THE UK (IM TALKING ABOWW COSMETICS) and yeah, in 2013 government are banning products that could b poisonous and/or stop you from having children.. thought you should know. That doesnt mean that you can buy any cosmetics in UK, cause many are imported from america who DO test on animals i think.. ANYWAYS there.. :]

Animals are just the first step. After animal testing is banned, next comes vegetation testing, then inanimate object testing. Pretty soon we won't even be able to use the word "test" for evaluation of school grades.
England has already taken the step of protecting cartoon characters from child porn. A judge ruled that even though fictitious, they are still children and deserve protection under the law. (Truly! Bart and Lisa Simpson.)

1) The Theoretical effect of a product on living beings may be different than the actual effect and since human life is worth more than animal life, the tests should be done on animals
2)Its cheaper to kill/hurt animals with experimental tests than to compensate people for tests gone wrong
3) Monkeys look so cute in lipstick

1. Without animal testing, most pharmaceuticals would never reach the people who need it.
2. It keeps dangerous chemicals from being tested on humans before the possibilities for danger are known at all.
There are thousands and thousands more reasons.

1. Danger to the public of untested chemical and medications.
2. Loss of jobs among those who have to supply the test animals, feed them or care for them.
3. Animals are already being needlessly destroyed in shelters, unwanted animals can be used for a higher purpose than merely killing them because they are excess.

If you don't already have this reason, Google the word "thalidomide". It was tested primarily on dogs, without significant ill effects.

Nearly all drug prototypes are first tested on lab rats. Since rats have such a short life span the effects of the drug are more obvious sooner so it can be fixed of any problems it may have. And rats are much more plentiful than humans.
