No No No sir. It is not persay Liberals who hate Milton Friedman. I am a Republican when i vote at least and i have a degree in history, in economics, political science, and sociology. The hate of Milton comes from the true nature of his ideals. today 44,000 children will die of poverty, today 1% of the population has more wealth than the bottom 90% combined. What happened is Milton's ideas were good but the gave nations an excuse to horde money and wealth no matter the cost. And today Profit is valued above all else. It is valued above life, it valued more than god. Certain companies will actually go into less developed nations, offer them a massive loan, than expect the money back plus interest. What happens then is nations have to due away with healthcare, schools, police, and often they turn around and sell their water, sanitation, and energy companies to that company that offered the loan. That company will then turn around and shoot up the price causing thousands of people to die and then they open a sweatshop to produce good at a fraction of the cost. And also that nations resources are simply taken from them for an insanely low price and brought back here. All of these actions ensure the 1% makes billions while the rest stays poor and weak. This has happened in over 22 countries and it is the result of the deadliest agent America possesses, the "economic hit man". Humans on a large scale are stupid. We are brutal, competitive, selfish, destructive, and acquisitive. We love to take something like a good economic theory and turn it into a reason to make more money and damage the people at the bottom more.

False assertion rant in the form of a question. 2 Points. Be that as it may who says liberals hate Friedman? It may come as a surprise to you but unlike right-wingers, liberals have no need hate anyone in order to disagree with them. Additionally we have had 9 years of the lowest tax rates in Post-war America. The rich are getting richer, corporation are sitting on trillions, and the middle class is disappearing as wealth is redistributed up to the wealthy. And yet the economy is in a shambles. It only takes modest critical thinking to see that Milton is wrong.

Furthermore, Friedman's arguments were an extension of the argument for social benefit programs first laid out by Adam Smith in The Wealth of Nations.

Why do you you people have to spend all of your energy bashing liberals? This is so sophomoric Stop insulting us by saying we are not intellectual enough for you. The whole problem in this country is the same as it has always been. Rich against poor, not black against white, liberals against conservatives, not catholics against protestants or Muslims against Jews..It is rich against poor. Politicians are bought and paid for on both sides and if you are a humanitarian and care about others that does not make you a person worth ridiculing. So stop the black and white thinking and start reading between the lines for the grays.

Most modern day economists think Friedman's policies haven't worked too well. He bankrupted this country with his stupid idea of deregulation and Chicago style of economics.

I do not hate him, and in fact he is my favorite Conservative economist. It is the ones who came up with silly idea that deficit don't matter because tax cuts pay for themselves that I hate.
