Risk of mercury in fish?

I've been planning to increase my omega 3 intake, ever since I was little I haven't been a fan of seafood but I was gonna give it a shot. I was looking around the internet about sources of Omega 3 and I learned that fish has mercury in it, and mercury does not pas through us, it accumulates.

Should I be concern over fish having mercury? (I know some fish have less than others).

How much fish should I eat in order to get enough omega 3 and nor over do it with mercury?

    Mercury is most prominent in predator fish such as sword fish and tuna. Having those one every two weeks or so is okay, a couple times a week is not so great. However, fish like salmon, trout, etc. are good for you and contain little or no mercury. I'm pretty sure salmon is one of the healthiest and most omega 3 abundant.

    Eat smaller fish like sardines. The smaller the fish the less mercury they have.

    I also remember reading that the amount of selenium matters. If you get enough selenium (fish has lots) the mercury doesn't matter as much.

    fish like salmon are high in healthy fatty acids. theres more mercury in larger fish like sharks/tuna. just try not to eat it daily

    i suggest you take fish oils, those are omega 3 supplements that dont contain any mercury
