Recipe emergency!?

I have a cake recipe that calls for a 9x9 pan. There IS no such animal in my kitchen. I have lots of other sizes, but not that one. This is a "dump cake" that cannot be mixed and then poured into two smaller pans. Advice?

    A 9 X 9 X 2 (2 inches high) baking pan will hold 10 cups of food (your cake mix and fruit). You can substitute an ovenproof 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 inch casserole that holds 10 cups or 2 1/2 qts. or use one of the pan sizes below.

    11-3/4" x 7-1/2" x 1 3/4" baking pan

    13" x 9" x 2" rectangular pan

    Dump cakes are not very fussing cakes.

    It should work in an 8x8 pan too, but you'll have to bake it a little longer. A 9x13 pan might be a little too big, but probably workable.

    do you have any layer cake pans

    Or double the recipe and make it in a 9x13 cake pan. Freeze some of it for another time.

    It's a typo. It meant to say 9x13 pan which is standard for all dump cakes.

    The pan size is not crucial. Whatever cake pan size you have will work just as well--the only thing that will change is the shape of the cake--not the recipe.

    go to the store that is closest to you and get one rather than waste time on yahoo
