What does CaF entail?

So, I went to my first antenatal appointment today with my partner.

I am 19 and my partner is 23. My mother has mental health issues and so do I, although most of this is in my past. However, she then asked me if Social Services were/had ever been involved with me. I admitted that they were when I was a young child, although she didn't proceed to ask why. My mother was actually unable to care for me so there was a custody battle and eventually my grandparents gains full custody of me.

After I mentioned past SS involvement, she said she wod do a CAF referral, and would I be OK with that? I said yes, because I assumed it could only be a good thing.

Could anyone give me any information or personal experience with CAF and what it involves?

I really really really do not like it when outside agencies start interfering, so if this is going to somehow lead to SS becoming involved in mine and my child's life again...

A CaF or Common Assessment Framework Is a multidisciplinary team working together to help you and your partner successfully bring your child up in a safe environment. If you are doing your best and making a good go of things you will have nothing to worry about.
