Yes it does, when combined with other herbs. Licorice root extract helps in blocking pigmentation.

White licorice will definitely make your skin white. And red licorice will make your skin red. Black licorice.....well....and watch out for those other flavored licorices, like sour apple, strawberry, watermelon and raspberry......if you eat all of them together you'll be a rainbow! ;)

Hi Alexandra! Who would want to use liquorice to make their skin white?! Do note that the substance is actually black and if you ever happen to apply it on yourself it is very likely that it will turn you dark and not the other way! There is also no dermatological tests that prove that it’s safe. Just stick to whitening creams for now!
