Computer program that combines cookbooks recipes?

I have a lot of cookbooks close to 60.  I had more but gave half of them away.

The ones I kept I do want to keep because they are mostly healthy recipes.  But to make more room I want to get the recipes saved onto my computer or tablet since some of the cookbooks do have similar recipes or use the ingredients I have in my pantry.

Instead of typing the recipes out is there a program or app I could use?  Something to make things easier?

Most scanners allow you to save the scanned document in RTF (rich text format) that is compatible with most word processing programs.

  • Recipe Keeper is a great piece of software. I think it's $5 to put it on your computer and $5 to put it on your phone. https://recipekeeperonline.com/

It's really easy to add recipes from the internet, but this app also has the ability to "scan" a recipe in from a photo using optical character recognition. I've done it successfully a few times. You do need to check it, but it works quite well. Nice thing is that you can add as many pictures as you want to each recipe, so you can add the photo as a backup just in case it scanned something wrong.

I've gone through a ton of recipe software in the past decades and this is by far the best I have ever found.

You would probably need to scan them into your computer and compile them into some sort of book. Mastercook is a cookbook program. And i do know you Can add recipes that are found on the internet into their book. But i do not know if their books are compatible with scanning. I would contact them and ask. But ask for a Live person-since they will probably just refer you to their FAQ pages, which can be problematic and difficult to navigate.
