  • UK to France passport question?

I am going to France on friday until sunday, but I was just wondering whether I'd need my passport or not. We are going by coach (and I guess the coach will then go on a ferry). Also, if I do need one, is there anything they'd accept as an alternative to a passport?

    Thanks for your answers.

  • Did Robert Nozick say anything like this?

If he did, could you give me the name of the book he alluded to it in? And if not, could you give me the name of a theorist who does have these views? Thanks

"inequality comes predominately as a result of biological differences between people and so to try and rectify this by any form of “social intervention” is unnatural and not fair to those who are “naturally” more intelligent."

  • Which of these U.S. universities is best?

The situation is that I am currently studying at Roehampton Uni in London and am in my first year. I'm studying Human Right and Sociology. At the start of the second year I have the chance to study abroad for three months. I can choose to do this exchange at one of the universities on the list provided by my uni (the universities on the list are in many different countries).

The only country which has more than one uni (on this list) with sociology/social sciences is the U.S.

    The universities are:

    - Greensboro College, North Carolina

    - Otterbein College, Ohio

    - San Jose State University, California

    - University of North Carolina at Wilmington

    - Valdosta State University, Georgia

    1) Do you know or have any idea which would offer the best sociology/social science course?

    2) Which university would you say is the best and what are your reasons?

    3) Which is situated in the best (i.e. nicest, most interesting, etc) area? -I'm aware this will probably be very subjective to answer, but would be awesome if you could give some input still :)

NB: Cost is no issue as I will remain paying my Roehampton fees throughout the exchange period?

A HUGE thanks to anyone who tries to answer or has even taken the time to read this :)

  • Olive Oil as skin treatment.?

I've heard that Olive Oil is meant to be really good for your skin (like when you rub it on), and I think there are Olive Oil based skincare treatments... but I just wanted to know would it be the same if I literally used the Olive Oil in my kitchen now? Would it do anything for my skin.

Also would it possibly help in reducing back acne?

    Thanks for any help

  • Skype reducing volume of speakers?

I recently got Skype and used it yesterday. During the call it automatically reduced the volume of my speakers (after researching this I've found that it's supposed to, so all is good there). However, since I have exited Skype completely and yet my volume has remained at this reduced level (even though the laptop says it's on max volume).

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

    Thanks

  • Question about the juristiction of the International Criminal Court?

I am currently looking up about the DRC's Bosco Ntananda. He is leader of the National Congress of the Defense of the People (Congolese Rebel group), though they have now become integrated into the national army and he is acting as a General.

Ntananda has an arrest warrant out for him for evidence of his crimes such as murder, massacre, kidnapping, etc. (at least 16 separate counts), but the Congolese government has decided not to execute the warrant, because of "peacekeeping" purposes. This basically means that they do not want to arrest him because he is the only person keeping the rebel group on the government's side I think.

    I have two questions:

    1) Sure this is illegal by the Congolese government right? Do they not have a duty to execute the warrant?

    2) Does the ICC not have authority to have some group of forces (I'm guessing they'd use the UN army) to go into DRC and execute the warrant?

Thanks so much for any help

  • I've got a Paypal query?

Hey guys, I just created a Paypal account and added a debit card. It says my balance is zero. I know this doesn't mean my bank account balance, but can I simply pay for what I'm buying straight from the card details I added, or do I have to "add money" from my bank account to the paypal account before I can pay?

    Thanks for any help

  • Situation regarding sexual health?

Hey guys, basically I'm not going to sugar coat this or anything. The end of my penis has been really red and sensitive and painful since I woke up yesterday and it hurts a lot when I pull my foreskin back, especially when I have an erection. Does anyone know what's up with it? I've only even had sex once and that was about a month and a half or 2 months ago and was unprotected (don't judge me, i know it was stupid). I got checked for chlamydia about a week after that and the test came back negative.

So, anyone know what it could be and if it could be to do with that?

    Thanks for any input

  • Unresonable friend problem... maybe?

I have a friend who I talk to every day online pretty much, or by text (we DO know each other in real life by the way too haha). Anyway, we get on fine and everything but I always know that every so often something will happen in her family and she'll unload ALL her life problems onto me and go on about them for the remainder of that conversation, and probably some of the conversation the next day too, this usually happens maybe once a week or once every week and a half.

Problem is, in response to all these things I kind of find that there are two options. The first option is me saying that it's really bad and I feel sorry for her, and then pretty much just acknowledging what she's saying by saying things like "Oh I see" or "Ahh right" in response to the things she says. But when I do this, she starts having a go at me for obviously not caring, or being bored or whatever. The second option is the I might try and offer her advice the best I can, but she always finds fault or flaws in my advice and rejects it, and then she'll have a go at me for thinking it's easy to solve or saying that she must be overreacting if it's just a simple fix (even though I never say or imply that it is quick and easy to fix).

I'm not really sure what to do now, or how to deal with her in those situations. Can anyone help?

Thanks for reading this by the way, I know it's long and thanks for any advice anyone might have.

  • Question about antibiotics and acne?

I'm not sure if this is a long shot of not, but currently I am on the antibiotic Penicillin and the one called Metronidazole, both for Glandular Fever. Today I also picked up my course of Prednisolone (a type of steroid, apparently) for it too. I know this should probably be the least of my worries, but I am relatively spotty and I read online that one of the major side effects of Prednisolone is ache. However, I just read too that antibiotics can be used to treat ache. So would the specific antibiotics I'm taking (I'm on 8 a day Penicillin and 3 a day Metronidazole) in any way counter the ache inducing effects of the Prednisolone?

    Thanks for any help.
