  • Need advice on final exam!?

I am a third year University student. One of the courses I took this semester ended up being a complete wash-out, apart from the teacher being incompetent I also ended up being ill throughout the semester (it was just one of those terms), as a result I missed quite a few classes. Now the final is upon me and I am wholly unprepared and will likely fail the course. I am considering whether or not to just let my teacher know that I won't be writing the final and therefore land up with an 'incomplete' on my transcript. The benefit of doing this would be that I have more time to study for a very important final is actually relevant and crucial to my field, whereas the course in question is a form of elective.

My question is: Which is "better" on a transcript, an F or an "incomplete"?

  • Best bowling lanes in Vancouver, BC?

We were thinking of getting a bunch of friends together to go bowling for my 32nd birthday but we're sort of new to the bowling scene here. Are there any recommendations for a fun bowling alley that has good music (80's, motown or classic rock etc) and perhaps even glow in the dark nights?

Also, we moved here a few years ago from South Africa - is a bowling party for adults strange in North America? A lot of bowling lanes seem to advertise parties for kids.

    Thanks!

A place that offers some food would be great too, but not essential.

  • Issues with a healing tattoo...?

Hi! I have a week old tattoo that is not healing as smoothly as my previous ones. I noticed some raised bumps under some of the black coloured in areas and at least one of these bumps seeped some serum or pus or something earlier today. These bumps are red and super itchy! Another small section that also had a raised bump lost its scab and there seems to be a tiny hole in the skin and the ink looks faded around the little crater! There are only 3 or 4 bumps throughout the whole piece (over my shoulder and down my upper arm) so it's not too bad but the tiny hole is in a very visible spot!

My question is...will this little hole heal?

What caused it so I can avoid more... and...

..what measures should I take from this point onwards. My previous aftercare has been to not get it wet to the point of soaking and to put lotion on it 2 or 3 times a day.

    Thanks for the help!

I am going to go see my artist next week to have him take a look at it, but since it's the weekend I just wanted some answers to tide me over.

  • Can't seem to figure out the GPA calculation...?

So I've looked through all the previous questions and can't seem to figure out how to calculate my GPA! So any help would be appreciated!

Background info: I am a college student, Humanities "major" obviously not math..teehee. And have done 11 courses at 3 credits per course. My current semester is another 3 courses also at 3 credits per course.

So my current GPA is 3.39 and my goal is a minimum of 3.7 to qualify for an University entrance bursary.

My question is..how many A's would I need to reach my goal?

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

  • Is this a normal side effect of anti-depressants?

I've been on effexor for 8 months now and have been experiencing quite an improvement in general well-being, mentally and physically. The only side effect, up until now, that I have been experiencing is the usual drop in libido which I was told to expect and I'm dealing with that.

But over the last 3 months or so I have noticed a pattern developing. It seems that my "crabbiness" from PMS has turned into what feels like mini bouts of depression! Apart from getting hyper-bitchy and easily annoyed (more than the usual pms) I also get this over-whelming feeling of sadness, weariness and lack of motivation, exactly how I was feeling , pre-medication! Then, a few days after my period I'm totally fine again! I have spoken to my doctor and she said to keep an eye on it, but I guess I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this or has heard of it happening.

Feedback will help me figure out what my next move is; changing prescriptions or just taking counter-measures.

Any info would be great, thanks!

  • Certain wood poisonous to pets?

I want to make some natural looking cat scratchers and trees for my cats with wood that we found on a plot being clear-cut for construction. One has that distinctive christmas tree smell and I am still trying to identify the other two before letting my cat-kids near them. Does anyone know any good sites for tree identification and also what types of tree bark/wood is poisonous? I have looked at the aspca toxic plant list but it tends to be predominantley house or garden plants and not trees. Any help would be great...thanks!

  • Getting my cats to be pals again!?

About 2 months ago we adopted a 5 year old female and once she was introduced to our 5 year old male the two got along like life-long pals! Recently (last two weeks) she has gotten comfortable with us and the house and has started becoming very affectionate and playful with us and this has brought about a big change in our male! He has suddenly taken a dislike to her! It seems like he has become jealous of her, if she jumps up onto the bed with us he puffs himself up, ears go back and he tries to bat at her. She is smaller than him and tends to take a submissive position. I have even seen him try to mount her, despite the fact that they are both altered. We have also heard her growling at him when he gets too bossy and he chases her around the house. I think its all a dominance/jealousy thing, but I want to know if they'll be pals again!? Has anyone had this experience? And any tips on helping them to get along?
