  • Kogi BBQ - anyone had it?

    I've followed all the internet blurbs about this taco truck sensation for 6 months now. I finally tried it for the first time on 5/9 and LOVED it. I now see what the hype is about.

    Anyone else have any Kogi stories?

  • 1999 Audi A4 1.8T - flashing/beeping oil light.....?

    Today in my instrument cluster a picture of an oil can started flashing/beeping. It stopped after a few seconds, but it happened again 3 to 4 times on my drive back from lunch.

    I looked this symbol up in my manual, and all it says is "stop driving the car".

    Anyone experience this before? What steps do I take now? Since I bought the car, I've always had the oil changed at Audi per the manuals recommendations/timeline. I have 73k miles on the car and it was last in for service at 70k!

  • Photo slideshow on new LCD television?

    I'm having a party at my parents house this weekend and I would like to show a photo slideshow on their new 60" LCD tv. I have no idea how to do this. I just put all of the pics on a USB flash drive. If I plug this flash drive into the side of their TV, will a slideshow just start automatically? If so, will it loop on its own? (I want it to play over and over for a few hours)

    Thanks

  • Ugly Betty - Gio or Henry?

    Geeez, after last night's episode, I think she should hook up with Gio and never look back. Henry always breaks her heart!

    Loved his line at the end:

    "I don't wanna be the rebound guy....I wanna be THE guy"

    Who do you think she should choose?

  • Good movie for Mother's Day???

    We're having a BBQ followed by a backyard movie under the stars for Mother's Day...I'm trying to think of a good "mom themed" movie to show that would be suitable/fun for kids to watch too.

    Any ideas?

  • Anyone know about CV boots for a 99 Audi A4 1.8T?

    My 1999 A4 needs CV boots but I've temporarily put off the repair because its too dang expensive and I want to sell my car this year and don't wanna dump anymore $$$ into it!

    What exactly do CV boots do? What's typical cost for repair? Has anyone tried this repair by themselves by buying a kit online? Not that I would attempt it, but I have a good friend that's very good at working on cars.

  • In CA, are you required to give 30-days notice......?

    when you want to move out even though you have no written lease/rental agreement with the landlord?

    My old roomie up in San Francisco wants to move out of the apartment she has lived in for 11 years. The landlord is a 90 something year old man, who is kinda losing his mind. There was never a lease, everything was agreed upon orally (rent amount, when rent is due, etc.) They never discussed anything with regards to giving 30-day notice before moving out.

    I went on CA Dept of Consumer Affairs website and read a little blurb about "Oral Rental Agreements" which says the following:

    "Any time that a tenant and a landlord agree to the lease of a rental unit for more than one year, the agreement must be in writing. If such an agreement is not in writing, it is not enforceable."

    Does anyone know if the above would apply to the 30-day notice rule as well?

  • Why do we microchip our pets and not our children?

    Sounds weird I know, but it makes sense when you think about it.

    Microchips for pets and lojacks for cars help people find them when they're lost or stolen. Considering the insane # of child abductions in this country, why isn't the same technology used for children?

  • Have you seen Animusic?

    I first came across Animusic when I had insomnia and was flipping channels at 3am. Very cool stuff - especially if you have a killer TV!

    Since then, I went to their website and learned more about it. Those guys are intense - the way they choreograph every movement with every single note.

    Have you seen it?

  • Does anyone out there actually believe the candidates?

    On one hand, I feel like I MUST vote in every presidential election because if I don't, then I have no right whatsoever to complain about the state of things in this country.

    On the other hand, I cringe everytime I watch any of the candidate debates, speeches, commercials, etc. I really don't believe one word they say, any of them, regardless of party affiliation. Of course each candidate is going to force feed us their utopian solutions for immigration, healthcare, terrorism, poverty, minimum wage, education, medicare/social security, etc. But, are any of these ideas actually valid? Could any of these so-called solutions actually be implemented in the real world? In the gigantic bureaucratic monster which is our federal government?

    Sadly, I don't think so.

    What do you think?

  • Mercedes from ANTM Season 2.......?

    I keep seeing this Chili's commercial that shows a server at the very beginning that looks exactly like Mercedes....

    Has anyone seen it? Is it her?

    If it is her, that's kinda sad that 2nd place on a very popular modeling show only gets you a Chili's commercial :-(

    If you don't remember her, here's one of her pics from Season 2:

  • Asking amount for my 1999 Audi A4?

    I am thinking about selling my 1999 Audi A4 1.8T...here's the details on it:

    * 67k miles

    * Silver w/ black leatherette interior

    * Manual transmission

    * Sports package (alloy wheels, high performance tires, 3 spoke leather stearing wheel, sports suspension, etc.)

    * Glass moonroof

    * Trip computer

    * BOSE 6-disc changer in trunk

    The car is in excellent condition, a couple minor scratches on drivers side door rail. I've had it serviced on time at the dealer for the past 9 years and I have all the paperwork on it.

    I live in Southern CA....so in your opinion, what is the max amount I could ask for my car?

  • Are there any maternity wards anymore that keep your baby in the nursery overnight?

    I know this could be a regional thing - I'd really like to know about Southern California hospitals.

    I haven't had a baby YET but I am curious about this. Call me old-fashioned, but I think it would be nice to get a few good nights sleep in during my stay at the hospital, esp. if I have a c-section!

    Many of my girlfriends who had c-sections left the hospital completely exhausted after 3-4 restless nights taking care of their baby in their room while they can barely move due to the surgery they just underwent.

    In my mind, sleep helps the healing process...and once you go home with your lil bundle of joy, sleep will not be easy to come by (even with an awesome husband helping out). The first few nights at the hospital should be your chance to get that rest. You have the entire day to bond with your new baby.

    What's your take on this?
