  • very very faint +HPT?

If you waited a bit longer than 10 minutes and the line is very very faint (but clearly visable), does that count as a +HPT? I am only a day or so late, I know it is a bit early to test and I plan to test again in a few days, but I have to move fast because if I go past 5 or 6 weeks without immediate medical attention, I will most likely miscarry. (Would be my fifth.) This would be my sixth "known" pregnancy, I'm pretty good at reading the very early signs.

    thanks in advance

  • Is hurricane evacuation a good enough reason to break my fast?

Straight up, if they say "voluntary evac" on my side of Houston, I'm leaving. Out of curiousity, I wonder if evacuation is a reason for breaking your fast. Inshaallah it will not come to that, and if it does, inshaAllah I will be able to keep the fast. Just wanted some opinions. If YOU were in Ike's path, and were forced to evacuate, would you break your fast, or try to keep it?

  • When is Shab e barat?

Does it actually start the night before the 15th day of Shaban or after? I think that Islamically, days start at sundown of the night before. Am I right? So is tonight the night for praying forgiveness or was it actually last night?

  • What "race" is my baby?

I am Caucasian American, my husband is Pakistani, or Asian. Sometimes on paper work and forms you have to put your race. I was filling out something for my baby the other day and it asked for race. I don't know what to put, honestly. I do not want to put on race in front of the other. I was wondering what do mixed race people do in such situations.

  • Lyrics to an old Arabic song?

I heard this song a long time ago. It's Lebanese, I think, female singer, from the 80's ,maybe early 90's. The first part goes (and my Arabic to english spelling is awful)

"El had o wa dee amed fa gil fil fagareeyah. Wa deek bi adhan coo coo coo coo fil fagareeyah."

The only part I am sure about is "wa deek bi adhan", someting about a rooster singing the adhan in the morning (coo coo coo coo) and in the second verse she says something about "Ya Abu Salah."

Someone told me the first part was about a woman making bread in the morning, I have no idea!

It's been stuck in my head for nearly THIRTEEN YEARS!!

  • Questions about first season of LOST?

Remember when they found those caves and some decided to stay there instead of on the beach. Okay, Jack and Kate were looking around in there first and found two skeletons "Adam and Eve". Jack said they had been dead 40 to 50 years. have they ever explained anything about who they were? I assume they were from the Others long before the Dharma people showed up. ALSO Jack found a little bag of black and white marbles or stones. Was that ever explained? AND when and why did everyone decide to move back to the beach and out of the caves? It seems there was no big decision, they just all eventually moved back with no explaination (did I miss an episode?)

  • Star Wars dilema?

Okay, I am a big big fan of the old three. Take that back, New Hope is cool, Empire is one of the best movies ever, Return is okay but goes a bit too far with the muppets sometimes. and I only like the origins, ot the 90's remakes. ANYWAY, in Empire, why does Yoda have to "remind" Obi Wan that Luke is NOT the last hope, "there is another." Obi Wan was at LUke and Leia's birth, so he knows Luke is not the last Skywalker. In Return Luke asks Leia if she remembers her mother, and she says she remembers her as being sad. Padme died at their birth, right, so how does she remember her mother? I know the prequels come many years after the originals but it just bothers me that a few things escaped their attention when they were trying to create this story line. Are these just some over sights? And, yes, I know I am being too picky.

  • Stephen King movies and book?

I am trying to remember two Stephen King movies. The first was released in the beginning of 1995, all I can remember is that some people were trying to check into a motel and this nervous little old woman was kicking something below the desk, turned out to be her tied up husband, and I think she turned out to be some monster or demon. It was about some guy writing books that were coming to life, about Apocolypse or something. It sucked a lot but I can't remember the title.

The second was fairly recent. I remember a cabin and something with a lot of teeth, and a mentally challenged kid they called "Duddits"?, I think his real name was Dudley. It sucked, too.

In the book, Delores Clayborne, when she saw the solar eclipse and looked into the sun, she saw a vision of a little girl looking back at her. This was supposed to be a scene from some other book that is somehow connected. What is the other book? They took that part out of the movie.

Thanks. (Not a big fan of Stephen King)

  • At what age do babies show left or right handedness?

I know babies use one or the other hand at different times, not really showing left or right tendencies. Just curious, when do babies or young children start favoring one hand over the other?

I am left handed and I think it would be aweome if my son turned out to be left handed. But of course my right handed husband wants him to be "normal" aka RIGHT handed. Whatever.

We tried to "test" him, offer him his pacifier with both hands to see which hand he wouldgrab it with. But he just scouped it up with his mouth. Smarty pants.

  • Which news source do Muslims consider more reliable?

I always hear people complain about the bias of this and that station. Some stations tend to be more liberal, some more conservative, some very negative, others are just way out there. Depending on where you stand on certain issues, you usually pick the source that most fits your beliefs.

I usually watch CNN because it's the only channel I can remember (I'm usually watching SpongeBob with my son much of the time) but I was curious about which news source do most other Muslims in the US watch.

Which station do most Muslims consider to be less biased and more reliable? CNN, Fox News, MSNBC? Which source do you usually prefer to watch in the hopes of getting the most accurate story?

  • What exactly is the point of Yahoo Answers if...?

What is the purpose of this thing if every question just gets reported or removed? If some one doesn't like you or doesn't agree with you, they just report your questions and it gets taken off, just like that? That sucks. Why do all those nasty questions stay, not all fo them get removed? I mean, what's the deal, yo?

  • What happened to my question?

I posted two questions in the Holidays-Ramadan section and they didn't show up. I posted one in the Travel-Eurpoe section and it's there. Why aren't my religious questions showing up? they are not offencive, especially compared to most of the question in all the religious categories.

  • Romania: what's up with Hunedoara Castle?

I had heard long ago that Hunedoara Castle was going to be renovated and turned into a museum, or maybe a hotel or some sort. Last night I watched this science fiction/ghost hunter show about Vlad the Impaler and Hunedoara castle and said that the renovators saw something there (saying it is haunted) and ran away, refused to go back and now the castle is just sitting there empty.

I don't believe everything I see on TV, of course, I was just curious, is this true? What do the local people think about this castle and it's history? Do they really believe it to be haunted? And do they really believe in strogoi, or is this just another example of American media tryng to protray other countries in a bad light?

Absolutely no offence to anyone, I am just curious about this place. I personally think that if any place on earth is haunted, it would probably be Hunesdorara Castle.

  • How do I get my 9 mo. old to CRAWL?!?!?

My baby is 9 months old this week. He is my only baby, but I try not to spoil him and carry him around too much. (But I probably do anyway.) He does sit and entertain himself for a while. If he falls over he can't quite get up without a little help. He has an exersaucer and an infant seat that he sits in a lot. He never liked to be on his tummy, only recently started rolling from tummy to back, but still not from back to tummy.

I try to put toys just out of reach but he doesn't make any move to try to get to them. I put him "in the position", try to give him a little push. He either fusses at me or laughs at me.

His cousin is 7 weeks older and he now crawls. A friend of mine has a SEVEN month old, already pulling himself up and trying to stand and walk!

Is 9 months too young or should he already be crawling? is there anything i can do to help him along?
