  • How to remove tar from sneakers?

So the plebs who work in NYC department that fixes streets neglected to put a cone for us pedestrians, which means I walked into a patch of fresh tar. Sure, I was watching where I was going, but sometimes people step in dog poo too, ya dig?

Anyway, now I've got this tar stain on the front of my sneaks. They're white too, so they're kinda ruined unless I can remove this swirl of tar on my toes. Anyone have any idea how I can fix the duds for my feet?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I need to identify these late-model Nikes . . .?

I have these sneaks I'm gonna put on eBay but I don't know what to call them because I'm not a sneaker whore. I love 'em but my new orthotics won't fit in 'em . . .

    Hopefully this pic works?

  • Question about Porsche's presence in North America?

I know Porsche of North America is getting ready to celebrate 25 years. So who were they before, since obviously Porsches have been sold here since the early 1950s (although it probably was that importer from NYC who brought the first ones)?

  • General question about the NY Yankees?

Doing a little bio and I'm coming upon some language I didn't expect, so I will have to rely on Bronx fans to set me straight.

Is referring to a player as a Yankee correct? So I could say, "Reggie Jackson was a Yankee in the 1970s" but "Reggie Jackson played for the Yankees"?

And, then, "George Steinbrenner is the owner of the Yankees," but "Yankee owner George Steinbrenner . . ." or "Yankees owner . . . "?

    Thanks!

  • James Brown question - was he ever on Motown?

I was at a trivia night at a bar and they asked "What Motown artist . . . " and I put my answer down. It seems the answer was "James Brown", and I told the MC, "Hmm . . . I thought of him, but he's Southern and . . " and he interrupted me and said, "Motown is a record label." Well, duh! But Motown was known for having singers and groups with the same backing band, as well as a number of exceptional cases (Stevie Wonder) and some "progressive" groups on their Rare Earth subsidiary.

I tried looking in Wikipedia about his labels and there was no Motown, but I thought I'd ask someone for a second opinion.

Honestly, I almost feel that the people thinking up this question think any Black soul singer was on Motown - how dumb!

  • How do I get pics from my phone to my computer?

I've got an old Samsung phone that has pics. However, I don't have the adapter that would plug into my computer and upload them. And I don't have Net access on my phone. Phone doesn't have Bluetooth, but it has that infrared thing. Is that my only hope?

  • What's the best Series 7 book to study from?

I'm considering changing my work direction and thought I'd check out something in finance. There are many books out there, and I want to make sure any study guide is well-written and easy for me to understand since it's been awhile since my mind has been used in that manner. My dad said his financial planner said Dearborn, but maybe that's what he used and it worked for him but that could have been 10 years ago, so I figure someone out here in the universe may know something about this - thanks!

  • Quiero a encontrar literatura de autos viejos?

Lo siento de mi Castellano peor. . .

Voy a visitar Buenos Aires.

    Gracias!
