I rented the DVD of Wall-e and watched it with a 5-yr old a 9-yr old and several adults. We were all bored to tears. Aside from the excellence in animation, this movie had nothing to offer. It was slow, had the obligatory enviro-nazi 'humans are destroying the planet' propaganda shoved down our throats, and dissed obese people gratuitously. Was there any redeeming value here?

What did the critics, who raved about this movie, see that we didn't? What did the movie-going public see that has rated this movie as #33 on imdb.com's all-time best movies?

If you have some insight, please explain. Thanks.

Running Windows XP....Adobe updates to Acrobat are pushed out to computer but install fails because there is no existing installation package. Cannot remove Acrobat for the same reason to reinstall.

BTW: the current installation works fine, it is simply annoying to always get these updates that cannot install.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

How can anyone claim that Islam is a religion of peace when anyone who tries to bring the Islamic world into modernity is assassinated? We've seen it in Lebanon all too frequently and now Benazir Bhutto is assassinated in Pakistan,

A 'question' posted wishing members a 'merry christmas' was removed 'for not being a question or an answer'.

Come on....if every post or question that was not a question or answer was deleted, more than half the content on the god forsaken piece of garbage should be removed.

Allan Shore's (James Spader) tirade on ast night's episode of Boston Legal was reminiscent of Nazi propaganda. Is this the opening volley in a new wave of open anti-semitism?

btw: The writing on Boston Legal has never been friendly to religion in America, but this episode was far more egregious.

And how does it harm them if others choose to believe in what they consider fairy-tales?

I'm selling my home as a FSBO. A prospective buyer calls to make an appointment to see the house. The buyer states that she is also a broker, and although she is looking to buy the house for herself, her company requires her to charge the 3% buyers commission.

Is this a common practice? Is this legal? Is this ethical? Is she trying to essentially get a 3% discount on the purchase?

I got a very angry email from a questioner about an 'insensitive' answer I posted. The problem is that the question made no suggestion of the seriousness of the issue and quite frankly seemed like many postings here...just posted to get a reaction.

When informed of the circumstances of the question (circumstances not posted), I had to agree that, in that case, my reply was insensitive, but, how was I to know?

People PLEASE>>> if you want serious answers to serious questions, provide some detail concerning the problem.

From time to time I've had answers reported for abuse. That's OK...some of my answers are designed to ruffle feathers. However, what I find amusing is those answers targeted for abuse reports are most often the most benign, jokes, or, based on the reason given, completely misunderstood by the reader.

If you're gonna report something as 'abuse'...please, Please, PLEASE, at least make an attempt to understand the comment or question you're objecting to.

Anyone else experience the same?
