  • Should a gynecologist have it on file when you are due for your next pap, and any necessary biopsies'?

6 months ago I started going to a new gynecologist (due to a move). The first visit was a consult, as expected - where he familiarized himself with my case. He had told me then that my next visit, that I would need to have a pap and 2 biopsies performed (as I was over due for them).

I went prepared for as such. The visit only ended up being an update, without any mention of pap or biopsy.

Should it be my responsibility to remind my gyno of that, or should that have been noted on my file?

I'm questioning whether or not the doctor is incompetent, or if I failed to live up to my responsibilities as a patient. My logic is: stuff like that should be noted on my file, and he ought to have at least glanced/reviewed my file quickly upon/prior to visit.

  • Should a patient expect a doctor to familiarize him/herself with the patient's chart at the time of the appointment?

ie - if for example the patient was told last visit that next visit, they'd have to have a procedure done (for example, a biopsy) - should the patient be expected to say to the doctor "Hey, I'm here for my biopsy."

    OR:

Should the doctor have that note made on the patient's chart, and be expected to actually look at this "note" when he/she has consult with patient?

  • Why would remote starter suddenly stop working on a car that is only 3 months old?

the starter itself was installed by dealership, and is dealership's own brand. Is there a safety code or something that I tripped? Is it a battery/charging problem?

  • Does anyone know if there is any Class Action suits against Chev/GM for their 3.1L, 3.4L, or 3.6L engines?

Was reading on Car complaints that their 3.4L engines have a very similar problem: Manifold Intake Gasket Leaks at VERY low mileage.

Anyone else have this experience, or as a mechanic - have you seen much of this?

(I lost mine @ 103,000K ... and cylinder heads are gone again @ 221,000K) Two major issues on the same engine: One phet up Chev owner.

Next car going to be foriegn make.

  • '05 Impala blowing cold air, guage went up on hot (red zone). Why?

    - Heater Core was flushed 2-3 weeks ago. All new coolant in her.

    - Checked coolant levels in resevoir and in radiator. Perfect. No discoloration either.

    - front fans on radiator are kicking in as they are suppose to.

    - Exhaust looks normal.

    - No foam or abnormal indications in the oil...checked, because worried about head gasket. Oil great.

Am I looking at a thermostat issue? Water pump issue perhaps? Or could it be bad head gasket and I'm missing something? (not sure what else to look for)

Engine 3.4L. Vehicle has 221000 KM on her. Manifold intake and head gaskets were replaced @ 103000K (about 6 or 7 years ago).

Car ran hot going up a hill. History of issue - intermittedly she'd blow cold air (but not consistantly.). She never overheated before though; Just the tempreture guage was "flucuating". Thinking it was heater core blocked, I got her flushed. Thermostat wasn't changed at that time. Mechanic said it was working fine....and car was putting out hot air after the flush was done up until a day ago.

Any genius mechanics out there want to take a guess at diagnosis?

(Please help. Seriously getting frustrated with this.)

  • What's your thoughts on Abortion?

Today marks the anniversary of Legalized Abortion on Demand, here in Canada - Jan 28 1988.

Do you think that was a step forward, or a step backward for Canada?

For those who are looking to adopt, do you think this law has lengthened the wait time you incur in order to have a child? (Do you wish it was reversed)?

  • generally speaking - if someone is a inconvenience to you, should they be murdered?

This question applies to euthanasia (with, or without) the individuals consent?

    Abortion on demand.

RE: Abortion - When does the baby become a baby, and not a fetus? I am just curious as to what people's definition of individual is. I've heard it said before when the child can survive outside of the womb, but with medical advances that's as early as 4 - 5 months. And following that logic, what determines "life"? (heart beat? brain waves?)

On this date, in 1988 Abortion on Demand was legalized.

Do you personally agree with the decision, even though it means so many children have died LONG before their time?

  • Do you agree with Abortion on Demand?

(including as a use of birth control)?

Prior to this date (January 28) in 1988, in Canada, abortion was only performed in certain circumstances. It was on that date, when it was legalized in Canada. Do you feel that was a step backwards, or a step forwards?

-Should abortion be allowed regardless of reason?

    - should it be allowed only in certain circumstances?

Do you feel there should be any protection for the unborn?

Also, generally speaking - if someone is a inconvenience to you, should they be murdered? (Also thinking of elderly, physically/mentally challenged individuals?)

*I don't feel this way, just wondering if those who agree with Abortion on demand also feel the same way about other individuals in society (besides the unborn).

Thanks to all who share their input.

    all answers appreciated.

  • Car is losing oil - is it possible that an incorrect oil filter would cause this?

around 70,000K ago I had my motor stripped down and "ALL" gaskets in my motor were replaced. At the time, she was leaking around the manifold intake gasket, so I decided to do the head gasket as well (as a precaution)....Bought the complete kit, and all the gaskets were replaced (and upgraded to a better quality) - - - Chev's!!!!

Anyway, the last time I had an oil change the mechanic first of all, thought they were out of oil filters to fit my car (believe it or not)..... he put a filter in her, but had GREAT difficulty getting it in.

I am suspicious. It sent up red flags at the time, and now....well, I'm just wondering if that could be potential cause of my current issue.

Ever since my last oil change, my car has been losing oil - gradually.

She doesn't seem to be burning it, and no indication of anything in my coolant. No foam.

    (Just losing oil)

    Any suggestions?

  • Is it lawful for an industry to be monopolized/controlled to a point where it prevents potential competition?

from being able to start up business?

ie - a municipal government issuing taxi licenses. if the industry is monopolized by pre-existing taxi companies, so as to dis-allow others from obtaining licenses unless they buy them from an existing owner and are sold at extraordinary/extortion amounts, instead of being returned to the municipality. Also, the committee which decides how many licenses to distribute is made up of those who have prime interest in the industry (ie - taxi company owners ONLY) - doesn't that seem a little bit unfair?

How does the Competition Act apply in such a situation?

What's there to protect the little guy who is interested in getting into the industry, but can't because he can't purchase a license?

Shouldn't people be required to return unused licenses to the municipality, instead of holding onto them and selling them privately?

  • Why is my 19 year old cat suddenly urinating on the carpet?

Her litter area hasn't been changed.

...and just curious: If it's Crystals, how long do they typically take to form?

Also, my kitty has a weird little lump on her chin, and has had it for some time... Could it be indication of something worse? (ie kidney issues, or kitty cancer)

(I hope an expert reads this question.)

  • How can I help my kitty to adjust to her new home?

So far, she's been there for a week and a 1/2 and she's still in "hide" mode.

She comes out to eat & poop/pee (litter pan), and cuddle with 'me' (ONLY).

Occasionally, she'll come out from hiding when I call; but usually I have to use some kind of incentive (treats, food, etc.)

I've even bought her a new *toy*. (It didn't work) - I purchased a live mouse, in hopes that it would entice her. I did not. (She didn't bother with it 'at all') Poor kitty is lethargic, and nervous.

Is there either easy way to get my kitty use to her new home?

HOW LONG before I can expect to see kitty come out of 'scaredy-cat' mode?

(btw, the mouse has been given a new home - for those of you who are going to freak when you read the explanation of the question.)

  • Would it be cruel if I buy a mouse and place him in a hamster ball for my cat to play with?

My kitty has recently relocated and is having a difficulty coming out of hiding mode.

I was hoping this could entice her to come out...

    Any comments? Opinions??
