  • Would you be friends with YOURSELF?

I was thinking about this last night- if you met yourself, would you get on? Might seem a strange question but we often get on with people who are very different to us... Personally I think I'd find myself a bit.... talkative!

  • Am I entitled to a refund?

This weekend I went to an Urban Decay counter and asked whether they had any primers that would help prevent my makeup sliding off due to my oily skin. The lady recommended the 'Pore Perfection Primer', but having worn it the last few days it's useless, in fact my makeup is completely gone and my face super oily just a couple of hours after using. I've since seen online that this primer is suitable for dry or ageing skin, not oily shiny skin like mine!

I'm so annoyed- it was £20 and I can't afford to buy something else. Should I ask for a refund? Am I entitiled to one?

  • Cost for additional Virgin box?

Does anybody know how much it costs to have an additonal box linked into Virgin TV? My hubby and I are back living with my parents at the mo and we would like to pay to link the Virgin TV into our room. Any ideas? My dad is saying it costs a fortune, and of course because the account is in his name I can't contact them!! 10 points available :)

  • How can I combat sleepiness without caffeine?

Every so often (more often recently) I get these bouts of extreme sleepiness at work. It strikes quite quickly, and I get to the stage when I only have to rest my head on my hand for a second and I'm asleep! It makes working life v difficult, as I sometimes feel quite dizzy with it and unable to focus on anything. I find myself going to the loo just so I can close my eyes for 3 minutes! I literally feel like I've been drugged. I usually get 7-8 hours sleep a night, and it doesn't seem to be affected by getting less sleep at night- it seems pretty random...

BUT due to a caffeine sensitivity I can't rely on that to wake me up, or any energy drinks. Any other tips?!

  • How to make it special?!!?

I'm arranging my best friends 30th birthday party- so far I've hired an area in a really nice bar, invited lots of her friends, arranged for food and bubbly, a nice cake, and got some funky decorations to match the 80's fancy dress theme. BUT, while talking vaguely about it last night with her (it's all a surprise) I mentioned shopping for fancy dress closer to the date and she said- 'But won't that give away what activity we're doing?'

I tried to play it down, saying I was just trying to arrange a good night out, but she's clearly expecting more than that! I don't know a lot of the people coming and have done it all through Facebook, so trying to get money off people is really not an option. She said 'as long as there's a few surprises, y'know some curve balls, it'll be great!'

Aaaaagh! Has anyone got any suggestions how to make it more personal/memorable without spending lots of money??!! Thank you!

P.s. She arranged my hen do so I do feel I owe her a good night...!

  • Tackling sleepiness without caffeine?

I often find myself getting incredibly sleepy at work- particularly just before and after lunch. It's ridiculous- I get to the stage where I can barely hold my eyes open, and and if I do close them for more than a second my head drops I start to doze off!

I get plenty of sleep (usually 8 hours) and am pretty sure it's not narcolepsy... The thing is I'm very sensitive to caffeine, and a cup of coffee will usually give me palpitations and nasty headaches.

Has anyone got any other tips on how to wake myself up? As a girl who wears make up I can't resort to splashing my face with water either..!

  • How do I tell my best friend she's driving me crazy?

My best friend and I have been really close for about 20years, she was my Maid-of-Honour, and is a very caring and generous person. We lived together for a couple of years (with my then boyfriend who's now my hubby) and we all got on great, although I did notice she likes to talk, ALOT.. It's got worse and worse recently, as my best friend I always want to be there and listen to her problems, try to help her sort them out, but it's got to the stage where sometimes an hour will go by without me getting a word in edgeways!

We went out with some friends for a birthday do a few weeks ago and I spent the entire evening just nodding and listening, as she described in detail every issue at work, in her personal life, with other friends etc. I found myself starting to feel really angry (which I know I shouldn't have) because while all my other friends were having fun and meeting new people I was stuck there. If it was a 2 way conversation I wouldn't mind so much, but she gets so bogged down in detail and seems incapable of noticing when it's time to focus on someone other than herself! She even phoned me at 2am after I'd dropped her off at home to tell me that she had a huge blister and to send me 3 pictures of it, even though I was in bed with my hubby and really not in the mood to keep chatting!!

So how do I bring this subject up with her without causing a rift?!

  • Can anyone name this American candy bar?

My mum bought me the most amazing candy bar back from the US, but I can't remember what it was called! It was basically just salty peanuts stuck together with lots of caramel- no chocolate or anything. HELP! I must buy more....

  • Should I accept this promotion?

I've been working at a well known retail establishment for the last 5 years. At the moment, I'm Section Head of my dept, with the department manager above me. He's been working for the company his whole life (about 45 years), but as a manager, which he's been doing for about 4 years, he isn't really up to the job. He basically came from a different side of the business- which was production rather than retail (this is hard as I'm trying not to give away where it is just in case!!).

I was recently asked to meet with the chain's MD, and told that they've decided to demote my boss and promote me in his place. I think I could really do the role justice and make alot of positive changes, but I feel so guilty about the whole thing- he's taught me alot (it's quite a technical role that involves alot of product knowledge), although I have found myself increasingly frustrated with his management style.

I'm torn! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thankyou...

  • How on earth do you do a cryptic crossword?!?

I'd like to consider myself a fairly 'wordy' person, but I can't even begin a cryptic crossword. How do you do them? The one I normally come across is in The Times, and the clues make absolutely no sense to me. Help!

  • Why don't I feel better?

OK, so I've been suffering from anxiety and panic disorder for about 5 years, and after alot of therapy and medication I've made alot of progress in the last couple of years. Today I faced the ultimate challenge- a whole days training course miles away from home. I'd been nervous for weeks, and although I had 5 minutes of feeling very anxious and panicky, I managed to stick with it and stay it out. I thought I'd come home feeling great, and proud, but instead I just feel numb, emotional, and can't stop focussing on those 5 minutes, even though I handled the rest of the day well. What's wrong with me?! x

  • How to dry out my car?

I have a Ford Ka, P-reg, and defrosting it is a nightmare! Every morning there's ice all over the inside of the windscreen, and scraping it all off leaves me covered in ice scrapings- all over me, the dashboard and the seats. I've tried leaving the windows open on a sunny day but to no avail. Any suggestions? x
