So assume that you have $40,000,000 to spend on producing and making anime. How would you spend it? Adapt a manga / novel / video game into an anime? Give an old anime a new sequel? Remake an anime with a higher budget? You can do pretty much anything. You can even tell me what studios and producers you want working on them.

To make it uniform, use this pricing scheme:

-HQ Movie (Princess Mononoke, 5 CM per Second): 20,000,000

-Movie (movies from TV series- eg Naruto): 10,000,000

-HQ OVA (Hellsing Ultimate, FLCL, Gunbuster): 5,000,000

-OVA (Golden Boy, Record of Lodoss War): 1,000,000

-HQ Episode (Ghost in the Shell, Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop): 200,000

-Episode (Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha): 100,000

-ONA / Short (Chii's Sweet Home, Hetalia): 50,000

So a short season (10 episodes) would cost 2,000,000 if made HQ; 1,000,000 if made normally; and 500,000 if made as a short.

A regular season (25 episodes) would cost 5,000,000 if made HQ; 2,500,000 if made normally; and say 1,500,000 (rounded a bit) if made as a short.

So using these costs, and a budget of 40 million, what would you make?

Okay, we all know that anime and manga can be out there at times. But I want to hear what you guys have come across in terms of the most bizarre ideas for an anime or manga storyline.

Some examples:

Nyan Koi: Junpei Kōsaka is allergic to cats and does his best to stay away from them. However, when he pisses off the cat diety, he becomes cursed and now must grant the wishes of 100 different cats- or face turning into a cat himself.

Akikan: Daichi Kakeru is a lonesome guy who has never had a girlfriend. But this all changed when he bought a can of melon soda on his way home from school. His first sip became his first kiss, as the can came to life in the form of a beautiful girl, who he called 'Melon'. The can is part of a government project called 'Akikan', where certain empty cans turn into beautiful girls.

Ginban Kaleidoscope: The ghost of a Canadian stunt pilot named Pete Pumps enters the body of a narcissistic Japanese figure skater who is fighting for a position on the Olympic team.

Hey guys, I've been watching quite a few different series, but it seems like I'm the only one who watches them on here. So I'm going to list some of the series I am currently watching, or just finished watching. I want to see how many other people have seen or even heard of them. If you have, I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.

-Chrome Shelled Regios: A nice short shounen, with a very fun supporting cast and lol ENGRISH

-Cross Game: Possibly the best drama I have ever seen in an anime

-Detroit Metal City: This is fricking hilarious, and REALLY out there.

-Kemono no Souja Erin: I love this art, and it may be the best fantasy piece I have ever seen.

-Minami-ke: Okaeri: I know people have seen some of the early seasons, but I've heard no talks about the third season.

-One Outs: Ridiculously over the top gambling in a baseball setting

-Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~: Another Bee Train assassin flick

-Saki: School kids playing epic games of mahjong

-Sengoku Basara: More ENGRISH and ridiculousness. I've heard some people call this the next TTGL.

-Sexy Commando: Sugoiyo!! Masaru-san: Unique. Different. Totally out there. These are the few words I can use to descrie this show.

Oh, and with the exception of DMC and Sexy Commando, all of these are ongoing shows that still have subs coming out. So does anyone follow any of these series?

Do you people not understand the nature of a troll? He says controversial things in order to provoke a reaction from you. He wants you to call him names, get agitated, and respond to him. A troll that gets 0 responses won't troll anymore. A troll that gets 10 responses will be back the next day. Which do you prefer?

On top of that, the very act of responding HURTS you and yahoo. If you reply to a troll on yahoo (whatever it is) it becomes harder to delete. I've reported trolls that have asked a bunch of questions and guess what? The only ones that didn't get deleted immediatly were the ones with a bunch of responses.

Lastly, responding to a troll puts yourself at risk. YOU may get in trouble with yahoo because responses like "Thanks for my 2 points" or general insults are against Yahoo's rules, and I've seen posters get reported before for such responses.

Do you have any other advice or insights into the nature of the allusive creature known only as "the troll?"

I don't know, but it seems to me that we as anime fans often try to attribute more meaning to these words than they actually have.

I mean, what exactly does the statement, "I'm a shounen manga fan." tell you? Honestly, not all that much. However, most of us start assuming that the person likes Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, because that's how most people use it. But the connotation of "fight'n action anime" is not the true definition of shounen.

The series Code Geass and Death Note are quite a bit different from Naruto and Bleach. And all of those are quite a bit different from Love Hina and Ichigo 100%. Yet these are ALLL shounen.

So what is your view? Do you think that we anime fans often designate more meaning to these words than they really deserve?

Oh, and can you name any series that really seem out of place in their shounen, shoujo, seinen, josei classification? For example:

-Welcome to the NHK is shounen, even though there is sex, drugs, suicides, and an over all more mature and complex theme

-Pet Shop of Horror is josei, but soley because of the art.

-The Familiar of Zero is somehow considered seinen. ...Really?

-The Cowboy Bebop manga is considered shoujo. Enough said.

So how do people knowingly approve of this relationship?

So I was thinking about Hellsing, and High School of the Dead, and I thought this would be a fun question to ask.

A couple of ground rules:

1. Make it realistic. Yes a secret underground military bunker would be the BEST place to hide out, but you aren't going to find that. And unless your town is somehow overflowing with AK-47s, you can't just randomly have one. Oh and obviously no C&Aish superpowers.

2. The Zombies don't have any supernatural abilities (super strength, speed, jumping, etc). They move relatively slow (largely from infection wounds), but can run if they are in a good enough body. They are stupid (they will try to knock down an unlock door instead of using the handle). Animals don't get infected.

Hi everyone! Do you like Twilight? Well I don't, but I've got a few questions to ask you all.

Why do you keep asking the same questions over and over again? If you have something new and interesting to ask, DO ASK IT. But we already have thousands of questions that have asked something like "Do you like Twilight?" So why do you people keep on asking it?

Yahoo has a wonderful little function called "searching" and if you just would so happen to "search" you would see that there are aproximately 4,500 Twilight questions at this time that are still OPEN, and which you can respond to. Do you really need to make another one asking "Do you read Twilight y/n?"

And I have another thing that I must ask you all. Why do you constantly ask these question in the Comic and Animation section? I know of the books. I know of the movie. But is there a Comic or Animated feature? If not, why are you spamming it here? Go ask in Books and Authors instead.

So to recap, why do Twilight fans ask the same questions, when there are already 4,500 open questions that they could go answer. And why do you post in Comic and Animation all the time?

Any sense that you could help me make out of this Twilight fans would be wonderful.

Alright guys, I'm trying to remember the name of a video sharing service that began with an M.

Instead of going to a particular video though, you would go to a particular channel- which would constantly play different videos, depending on what the owner of the channel put in the play list. There was also a chat off to the side where people could chat with each other in real time. Also, if you didn't want to watch what was currently airing in that channel, you could go to the channel's menu and go to archived footage to select what you want to watch from what the owner has available.

Does anyone know the name of this service? Thanks.

I'm just wondering who else was anticipating both of these releases as much as I was. And if you've already watched them, what comments do you have on them?

Alrighty folks. Since there seemed to be a lot of clamoring about how C&A is boring lately, and how people just keep asking the same crappy questions over and over again, I've thought of a little proposition for you. How about we start ourselves an anime club?

We can watch a new anime every week, and then be able to ask questions related to that series for that week. That way we can bring in some interesting new questions, but make sure everyone is on the same page.

First, say whether or not you are interested.

Second, give a reccomendation of which anime we should watch. There are some guidelines. though.

Pick just one series, and then describe "Why is this a good anime that people at C&A can watch?" You also have to make sure that this is a bit rarer anime. We want something most of us haven't seen. Also, while I'll accept reccomendations of anime you have seen before, I'd prefer it if you'd say something you've been WANTING TO WATCH.

Good news everybody! It appears that Japan has began to kill off fansubs! Maybe even the American Anime Industry as well!

GONZO has just announced that they will be releasing Blassreiter and The Tower of Druaga online streaming AND subbed simultaneously with them airing on tv, FOR FREE.

Is this the beginning of the end for the fansub community? Is Japan going to cut off the American Licensor middleman, and cripple the American Industry?

What are your opinions and view on the matter, and are you excited about this latest developement?

Alright, I want to see which one of you guys have been paying close attention to the latest anime trends in Japan. For the past two weeks, there has been an explosion from the newest fad, and I want to see if any of you stay current with this sort of thing.

I've labeled them 1-30. Pick a number and explain why you chose them if you want. I'm just curious to see who people like out of these particular characters.

I'm doing a little experiment, star this or what not if you want the results at the end. XD. Oh and some people may have seen this experiment before. If you have just play along.

The character you must beat is Sakura from Card Captor Sakura (Has all CLOW cards).

Given the correct situation, Sakura CAN win against anyone. There are many scenarios where she would be defeated. I want you to see if you can come up with a character that can beat Sakura in the scenario I set up.

1. Battle takes place in a 1 square mile area in Tokyo, present day (civilians, people and all)

2. Sakura starts out on the far west side- her opponent starts out on the east

3. Sakura is told and knows that she must disable your choice so that he can no longer fight. She also knows he is actively seeking her- and CAN'T be reasoned with.

4. Her opponent is told that Sakura is a nuisance and must be "dealt" with.

5. Both characters must stay true to their personalities. Sure Goku COULD incinerate the entire area almost instantly- but you have to convince me he WOULD do it. Same goes with Sakura.

6. They don't know each others powers/abilities before hand. Only names and faces

Here's is a vector I just made from a recent episode of Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei where Kafuka, Meru, and Chiri were parodying magical girl anime. I'll probably do Meru and Chiri next.
