I'm taking a discrete structures class and this problem is giving me some difficulty.

"Federal express packages carry a 10-digit identification number (n). Its last digit x is a check digit that equals the remainder in the division of (n-x)/10 by 7. Find the last digit of the Federal Express package tracking number with 903786299 as its first nine digits."

What I don't understand is in the book it states "10 by 7" as part of the algorithm to solving the check-digit, which I'm not totally familiar with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the question:

Fifty-two percent of adults say chocolate chip sis their favorite cookie. You randomly select 50 adults and ask each if chocolate chip is his or her favorite cookie.

a. Find the probability that at most 15 people say chocolate chip is their favorite cookie.

b. Find the probability that at least 15 people say chocolate chip is their favorite cookie.

c. Find the probability that more than 15 people say chocolate chip is their favorite cookie.

I read online that you could pay a 20 dollar fee if you'd want to upgrade your current phone without paying the full retail price. My upgrade is on 12/6/2011 and I'm interested in the iPhone 5 (assuming it comes out before 12/6). Would I be eligible for an early upgrade? Hey guys.

So i went to turn on my computer today, and as i started it, my background image loaded up but none og my icons. On the bottom right it says "Test Mode Windows 7 Build 7600". Ive restarted it many times same result. I put it into safe mode and did a system recovery but same result. What else can i do? The desktop just sits there and nothing happens. I can ee the mouse moving and the resolution seems lower. Help! Thanks.

A 2003 BMW 745i costs roughly around 16-21k with around 80k miles.

Seems like a great deal, considering it was a 90k car new.

I'm looking for a luxury car and this car seems like I would get the most style for what you pay.

I'm hesitant to buy it because I'm afraid they might have some serious issues. Are these cars known to have high repair or design issues? It looks like a great deal, but can someone convince me not to buy one?

I've been told to eat a lot. I have 5-6 meals a day with a protein shake I take in the morning.

I would say that each day i'm taking in about 3000 calories a day.

I missed a few days of school with the flu and now I'm a little lost in chemistry

We did a lab and it's asking me to

"Calculate the amount of Boron oxide that theoretically should form from the amount of boric acid in your test tube. Show work." -.-

Ok so we filled out a data table of all of the weights of our substances

Initial mass of test tube = 10.03g

Mass of tube + Boric Acid = 11.47g

Mass of tube + Product = 10.84g

Then the next question says,

What is your actual yield of boron oxide?

Here are the equations it gives

2H3BO3->B203+3H20

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because honestly, she did a terrible job of explaining the actual/theoretical yield to me and I really cannot get this on my own.

Alright guys,

I recently installed a new Pioneer head unit in my 1999 ford explorer. Almost 20 minutes after I was done installing it, I was driving around, and my speedometer no longer works.

I don't even want to drive the thing until I can get the speedometer working, because it doesn't register any miles on the odometer either. Has anyone experienced something like this before? What should I do to fix it?

About 4 years ago my mom and I were home alone, and I was 14 at the time. it was about 11 PM and I was getting ready to go to bed. right as I was going to go downstairs to lock our front door, I heard someone come in my house. I was freaking out because I could hear 3-4 men running through our house. I went in my room to grab my aluminium baseball bat. when I came out I saw 4 firemen standing at the edge of or stairwell asking me who needed help. I said that they had the wrong address and they left. the house next to us was the one that called for help and an elderly lady ended up dying that night. I will never forget that night.I thought I was going to die.

I am a fan of Roger Clemens, and I do not believe he has used HGH. It was his choice to go in front of congress, so why would he lie? They also do not have actual 'proof,' he has used HGH, other than testimonies about past conversations. What do you think?

Alright here's the deal.

I'm a junior in high school, she's a sophomore. She's practically best friends with my sister, who's also a sophomore.

Over the summer, one of her other friends, is now dating MY best friend. Now the two of them occasionally try to hook the two of us up, some way or another.

About the girl, I LIKE. She is VERY smart. Top 10 in her clas, I believe. Has a large group of friends, although I woudnt necessarilly call her one of the popular girls in her grade. She is shy around me, which is the reason I can't tell if she's trying to avoid me or if she does actually like me, as well .

We do exchange texts every few days, usually her starting the conversation. She writes on my facebook wall occasionally, just about random stuff.

Homecoming is coming up and I'm not sure if it would be weird if I ask my sisters best friend to it. My bestfriends girlfriend is pushing me to ask her, but I'm not 100% sure if I should.

Hi, recently bought a used ford explorer. I'm having trouble starting it, when i put the key into the ignition. I believe it is an anti-theft malfunction, because when i start the car through the remote starter, it works perfectly fine. But when i try to start it through the key itself, the car doors lock up, and nothing else happens.

Is anti-theft causing this? Is there a way i can disable it? Weird thing is, right after i start the car with the remote start, and turn the car off again, i can successfuly put the key into the ignition, and it starts perfectly fine. I'm honestly lost right now. kinda freakin me out lol... please help this is getting pretty annoying . thanks.
