Hello I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses (Recently baptised :) Why? Because I was living my life looking for the truth and happiness, answers while seeking riches in music and seen that things in the world don't bring true happiness or fulfillment so went searching for the truth. Through searching into history, science, religion and evolution I came to know for certain that Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth, questioned it, came to know it, questioned some more and the truth is the truth! Jehovah is the true God and his word is truth. From what I have learned I have became zealous to teach all who will listen and after my dedication to Jehovah will continue to do so to the end of this system. One thing that I read which opened my eyes while studying was the publication "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/article_01.htm I urge all to read here online and to contact us locally at a kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses or jw

  • What makes the Bible unique?

    I will get us started....

    PROPHECY - A perfect record....

Joshua 24:14“Now, look! I am going today in the way of all the earth, and YOU well know with all YOUR hearts and with all YOUR souls that not one word out of all the good words that Jehovah YOUR God has spoken to YOU has failed. They have all come true for YOU. Not one word of them has failed.

As was said to the nation of Israel many moons ago before crossing the Jordan to enter the promised land, the nation of Israel knew Jehovah and all that he said proves to be. Today it is the same for those who pay attention to Gods inspired word (2Timothy3:16) We too know that all Jehovah God has spoken proves to be, and prophecy is one way we know for a certainty that what is soon to come shall be done, and in our time, because the Bible is not mans word but Gods, we know it to be truthful.

"Bible prophecies are . . . so numerous as to make accidental fulfillment almost infinitely improbable.”—A LAWYER EXAMINES THE BIBLE, BY IRWIN H. LINTON

HOW IS THE BIBLE DIFFERENT? Ancient oracles were notoriously ambiguous and unreliable, and modern horoscopes are no better. Futurology is based on current trends and rarely even attempts to predict specific events centuries in advance. In contrast, Bible prophecies are detailed and always come true, even if they tell “from long ago the things that have not been done.”—Isaiah 46:10.

AN EXAMPLE: In the sixth century B.C.E., the prophet Daniel saw a vision that foretold the rapid defeat of Medo-Persia by Greece. It also foretold that as soon as the victorious king of Greece “became mighty,” his kingship would be “broken.” Who would replace him? Daniel wrote: “There are four kingdoms from his nation that will stand up, but not with his power.”—Daniel 8:5-8, 20-22.

WHAT HISTORIANS SAY: Over 200 years after Daniel’s time, Alexander the Great became king of Greece. Within ten years, Alexander defeated the Medo-Persian Empire and extended Grecian rule as far as the Indus River (in modern-day Pakistan). But he died suddenly at the age of 32. Finally, a battle near Ipsus in Asia Minor effectively dissolved his empire. The four victors of that battle eventually divided the Grecian Empire among themselves. However, none of them attained Alexander’s degree of power.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Can any other book claim such a record of fulfilled prophecy? Or is the Bible unique?

  • Is the trinity really a Bible teaching?

The trinity has been defined this way “Three divine Persons (the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost), each said to be eternal, each said to be almighty, none greater or less than another, each said to be God, and yet together being but one God.” Is this a Bible teaching?

The Jews believed “You must never have any other gods against my face.” (Deuteronomy 5:7)

Deuteronomy 6:4 reads: “Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah”— not three in one. Israel had just been liberated from Egypt, where Osiris, Isis, and Horus—one of a number of triads of gods—were worshipped.

Since Jesus was a Jew by birth, he was instructed to follow this same command. After his baptism, when tempted by the Devil, he said: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” (Matthew 4:10; Deuteronomy 6:13) We can learn at least two things from this incident. First, Satan was trying to entice Jesus to worship someone other than Jehovah, an attempt that would have been absurd if Jesus were part of the same God. Second, Jesus made it clear that there is just one God who must be worshipped when he said “him alone,” not “us,” which he would have said if hewere part of a Trinity.

When people come to an accurate knowledge of God and want to serve him, they are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit.” (Matthew 28:19) They understand and accept the authority of Jehovah and the role of Jesus Christ in the outworking of Jehovah’s purpose. (Psalm 83:18; Matthew 28:18) They also comprehend the function and activity of God’s holy spirit, which is his active force.—Genesis 1:2; Galatians 5:22, 23; 2 Peter 1:21. The Trinity doctrine has confused people for centuries. On the other hand, Jesus enlightened his followers and directed them to “the only true God,” Jehovah.—John 17:3.

Matthew Chapter 24 When the disciples approach Jesus to ask him about the conclusion of the system of things, notice what he said....

3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

7“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.8All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

9“Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name.10Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another.11And many false prophets will arise and mislead many;12and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off.13But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.14And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Did you notice the last SIGN we are to see happening?

  • do you say God's Kingdom is within us or it is a real government in heaven?

Why is the truth to this answer important to us? Because Jesus taught us to pray for God's kingdom to come, so it is important that we know the truth as to what it is and how it effects us ( Matthew 6:9,10)

First to get the truth we must ask ourselves the question... What is a Kingdom?

Definition - A country, state, or territory ruled by a king or queen.

Next it would be wise to examine God's word the Bible for the truth to the matter as 2 Timothy 3:16 teaches 16All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight.

Matthew Chapter 1 shows that Jesus came from the line of David so could rightly become King.

Read how Jesus responded when asked if he was a King...

John 18:37Therefore Pilate said to him: “Well, then, are you a king?” Jesus answered: “You yourself are saying that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone that is on the side of the truth listens to my voice.”

So Jesus said he had been born to be King, by doing so he inherited the legal right to the throne of David and also to bear witness to the truth.

In verse 36 Jesus said the following “My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”

So here he made it clear that he was not to be a King on earth as a human ruler but rather in heaven he was to rule as King.

In Psalms 89 it talks about the covenant Jehovah made with David.

    3 “I have concluded a covenant toward my chosen one;

I have sworn to David my servant,

4 ‘Even to time indefinite I shall firmly establish your seed,

And I will build your throne to generation after generation.’”

28 To time indefinite I shall preserve my loving-kindness toward him,

And my covenant will be faithful to him.

29 And I shall certainly set up his seed forever

And his throne as the days of heaven.

36 His seed itself will prove to be even to time indefinite,

And his throne as the sun in front of me.

Daniel 7:14 And to him there were given rulership and dignity and kingdom, that the peoples, national groups and languages should all serve even him. His rulership is an indefinitely lasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom one that will not be brought to ruin.

And last let us consider Daniel 2:44

44“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

The Bible is clear and shows God's Kingdom is a real heavenly government, that will rid all human kingdoms and rule to time indefinite.

Do you say God's kingdom is from within or is a real government in heaven?

    Why?

  • Was Jesus ever to become King on earth or in heaven?

Matthew Chapter 1 shows that Jesus came from the line of David so could rightly become King.

Read how Jesus responded when asked if he was a King...

John 18:37Therefore Pilate said to him: “Well, then, are you a king?” Jesus answered: “You yourself are saying that I am a king.

4 ‘Even to time indefinite I shall firmly establish your seed,

And I will build your throne to generation after generation.’”

28 To time indefinite I shall preserve my loving-kindness toward him,

And my covenant will be faithful to him.

29 And I shall certainly set up his seed forever

This is just a little bit of scripture that shows Jesus was born to be King, not many people recognize this scriptural truth. I would like to write much more here but want to leave it at that so as to not go to deep in one post.

The Kingdom Jesus has become King in is God's Kingdom that many pray for, Matt 6:9-10

    What Is God's Kingdom? - http://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-teac...

My question? Did you realize this scriptural truth from Gods word the Bible and would you like to learn more?

  • Jesus Christ: son of David, now an exaulted King?

You may be fimaliar with the scripture at Ezelial 21:27 where it talks about him who is to come who has the "legal right". You may also be familiar with what God told King David.

3 “I have concluded a covenant toward my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant,4 ‘Even to time indefinite I shall firmly establish your seed, And I will build your throne to generation after generation.’” (Psalms 89)

1 The utterance of Jehovah to my Lord is: “Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.” (Psalms 110:1)

So when Jesus was resurrected he sat at God's right hand until his enemys were put beneath his feet when Satan and the demons were cast out of heaven to the earth, then he would take up his Kingship as he had the "legal right".

Acts 7:55 But he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of God’s glory and of Jesus standing at God’s right hand

Isaiah 9: 7 To the abundance of the princely rule and to peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom in order to establish it firmly and to sustain it by means of justice and by means of righteousness, from now on and to time indefinite. The very zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this.

So what would be the sign of Jesus rule and of the conclusion of this system of things?

    Matthew 24:3,7-14

3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Since 1914 Jesus has been King, the year the Gentile times ended

    http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/appendix_10.htm

If you have faith and believe in Gods word you will know Jesus is now King over the throne of David and what his kingdom is soon to do for mankind will be great as Gods will comes to be.

So did you know Jesus was King?

  • Greece: prophecied about hundreds of years in advance, did you know?

Alexander the Great from age 22-32 pritty much conquered the world, then he died of a disease going around at that time. 4 kingdoms were raised up after him but did not rule with the same power.

What the Bible said way before Alexander was even born?

In one vision, Daniel saw Greece depicted as a leopard with four wings, indicating that this empire would conquer swiftly. (Dan. 7:6) In another vision, Daniel described how a goat with

a prominent single horn quickly kills a two-horned ram, Medo-Persia. Jehovah told Daniel that the goat symbolized Greece and the large horn depicted one of its kings. Daniel further recorded that

the large horn would be broken and four smaller horns would grow in its place.

This horn was soon broken, though, the great king dying at the height of his power and at only 32 years of age. Then, his kingdom was eventually divided among four of his generals.—Read Daniel 8:20-22.

How acurate was that prophecy? It is as clear as water! And there are hundreds more just as big and clear that have came true, even in our time in the world power we live in, Great britian USA/League of Nations and United Nations.

  • How could a universe come about randomly when a house could not?

The Earth, Planets, Stars, sea and dry land, animals and humans, everything above is so well established perfectly in it's place. Yet people claim 2 cells came together, things happened and here we are. Much research has went into evolution, time and energy, many have strong feelings towards it.

Put simply though, every house has a builder and designer although we just see the house and not the people who built it once it's finished we know that it had an intelligent designer.

So how could a far more complex universe including the intelligent builder of the house come about unless they had been created. We know the house could NEVER build itself so how could our home, the Earth?

Many find it extremely difficult to believe in God because the way the world is, they can't physically see him and because what they have been taught or learned about evolution.

Would you be willing to at least look at the Bible and the prophecy's recorded in it?

If anyone is willing to look I'll post a link after I see some comments.

I look forward to hearing some of your thoughts on this question today, thanks in advance for taking the time to answer.

  • Who is God? Who is Jesus? And who is the Holy Spirit?

Many claim the following to be God... MOLECH, Ashtoreth, Baal, Dagon, Merodach, Zeus, Hermes, and Artemis, Alah, Jesus. Who do you believe to be God and on what grounds have you based your conclusion?

Was Jesus God or God's son? A father and son are 2 different things and people who believe in Jesus believe in the Bible. The Bible teaches that Jesus came from the line of David so inherited the legal right as King, also David was told through his seed a King would come and rule to time indefinite. Jesus had to flee from the people who tryed making him king on earth as his kingdom is no part of the world, but rather it is in heaven to rule over earth. This is why the Bible teaches that Jesus was to sit at God's right hand until his enemys were cast out of heaven and put as his footstool, that was the time Jesus was to become king, that date being 1914, and the signs of the times we live in show that Jesus reign as King has began. Also Jesus said when being accused of making himself God, he was God's son, and it is even written they are gods. God is a title but Jesus never claimed to be God and God said Jesus was his son, like when Jesus was baptised in the Jordan Jehovah said this is his son whom he approves.

Who is the holy spirit? What do you believe and based on what?

  • A few questions for any Christian out there?

Why did Jesus say (Matt5:5) 5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.

Was this because they are going to be living on the earth?

Why did King David write in God's inspired word (Psalms 37:11) 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,

And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Is this because the meek will possess the earth and have true peace on earth one day?

    Also why does (Psalms 104:5) say 5 He has founded the earth upon its established places;

It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever.

Is this because earth will be made to last forever? and mankind will live on earth?

Why did John write (John 5:28,29) 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out

Is this because there will be a resurrection on earth?

Why did Jesus raise the dead, give sight to the blind, heal the sick although they people eventually died anyway?

was this because this is what he will do on a worldwide scale in the future?

    and last question....

Isaiah 55:10,11 reads... 10 For just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.

So does this mean that the earth will become a paradise and mankind will live in peace on earth just as mankind was made? After all this was God's word that went forth (Gen 1:26-27)

Please can we stay on subject, I don't expect athiests etc to but for Christians as sometimes it wonders off in a different dirrection and the questions go unanswered.

  • NKJB HOLY BIBLE. Did you know this is what it teaches....?

First off I would like to start by mentioning that The Divine Name King James Bible has resored God's name 6972 times! So when you read the LORD in capital letters that is where Jehovah's name should be. The history to Jehovah's name getting removed started with Jews who took Exodus 20:7 the wrong way which says.

7 “You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way, for Jehovah will not leave the one unpunished who takes up his name in a worthless way. (NWT)

Now back to NKJB and did you know it teaches this....

(Psalms 37:10,11) 10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Now compare this with what Jesus said at Matthew 5:5

5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. (NJKB)

So as we can see the scriptures talk about the meek inheriting the earth.

Psalms 104:5 says 5 You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever (NKJB)

5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. (DNKJB)

So when Jehovah made the earth he made it to last forever, not to destroy it as many believe will happen, because if that were true then what would God's purpose have been in creating the earth? or what meaning would Jesus' words mean recorded at Matthew 5:5?

The reason Jesus' ressurected the dead, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, all this was not for nothing as these people eventually died. Rather it was to show that he has the ability to do this in the future.

Here is something else Jesus said

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (NKJB)

So here Jesus was saying not everyone saying Lord, Lord will enter into the Kingdom but rather the one who does the will of his father who is in heaven will.

Well 2 things the Bible teaches are as follows about the Kingdom and about God's will...

1 Corinth 6: 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Timothy 2: God, 4 whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.(NWT)

So as we can see if anyone continues on in a bad way as in 1 cor 6:9-10 they shall not inherit the kingdom of God, also that it is whoever does the will of God who shall enter (Matthew 7:21-23) (1 Tim 2:4)

    Romans 10:13-15 says

13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (LORD IN CAPS HERE SHOULD READ JEHOVAH AS IN DNKJB)

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,

Who bring glad tidings of good things!” (NKJB)

So who fit the prophecy Jesus spoke of, written in Matthew 24:14

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Well today Jehovah's Witnesses are the only Christian organisation on earth who preach about the good news of the kingdom globally!

  • JEHOVAH IS THE NAME OF GOD: Did you know this?

not TIME as theorists teach and believe. We all want deep down to live as Adam and Eve did yet the world today makes it seem like a fairy tail as we all grow old and die, have pain and distress in our lives and it seems impossible to many that what is in the Bible could actually be true and that Jehovah is God who is the grand creator and a loving God as there is so much chaos in the world. Many cling to what scientists say and hold firm to evolution as if it is fact and there is no other way. Yet ones who have examined the Bible, prophesy, accurate history and wisdom have came to know for a certainty that the Bible is God's word not mans.

If you are familiar with the scriptures you will be familiar with Psalms 83:18 and Deut 6:4 you will know Jehovah is God's personal name and he Alone is the Most High, also that he is one, not 2, 3 or more.

Through Reading Hebrews Chapter 1 you will know he sat down at the right hand of God, has became more than angels

and after he had made a purification for our sins he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places. 4 So he has become better than the angels, to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs.

Jesus we also know as the Archangel Michael http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/appendix_11.htm

This is the reason it could be said he "has became more than angels"

If any of this is new to you or you believe something else you may want to do a more in depth study of What Does the Bible Really Teach? http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/article_01.htm

    My question?

Did you know: JEHOVAH IS THE NAME OF GOD

    and

What do you not agree with I said and why?

Reasoning would be good rather than sarcasm, childish comments or arrogance please, I see it on this site a lot and it's not only rude but there is no need for it.

  • How do you view the mark on the hand and forehead in Revelation?

Revelation 13:16 And it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead.
