I recently heard this for the first time and wanted to know what you guys think about it! How much is really true? How much suffering to animals actually go through when being raised for consumption? Lots? None? I want first-hand evidence here, people!

... not sharply, but almost every day for the past month and a half it's ached every day, some days are worse, other days are pain-free, and it's more on the right side than the left. My period's been late both times since it started, and it's physically impossible for me to be pregnant. I'm just a bit concerned, but not really worried. Any ideas?

Pleas don't just tell me it's oxidized, that doesn't help. I know there's nothing wrong with pink-ish lettuce, but it seems that in the colder months, it turns pink on the stems even when it's still fresh.

I've always been single... literally, always. Never known anything else. Is there anyone out there who will tell me I'm better off this way or is this something I absolutely need to be pursuing?

Until last September, I worked in a kitchen at a complex of retirement apartments where the middle-class elderly would live. A lot of them would move on to assisted living before they died, but a few of them would die every year. I'd kind of miss them a bit, but I'd miss them the same if they moved away. I think I was just expecting all of them to die soon... am I just callous or is this okay?

I'm happy for them, but so far, I've only heard arguments against. Governments are saying it's a bad precedent, and that the ethnic Bosnians living there will now be targets. So why do some countries support the split? What reasons? I'm just curious. :)

but they're kept in orbit by gravity, it's just the accelerating and decelerating of the shuttle that makes them bonk around inside, right? I mean, I THINK it's like when you're in a car and you're going along at 60mph. You're not squished against the seat or flying forward unless you stomp on a pedal. Am I right, or is there more to it than that?

Is it just that he's feeling threatened by others, or could it be something else? We've had him since he was eight weeks old and he's always been a bit rough. When he was older, he'd hiss and swat at people. Then at about a year and a half, he attacked somebody. (!!!) I think it's irresponsible to keep him, but he's good to me... what's going on? What can I do?

Oh, I hope for some good answers on this one. I mean, everybody's done something in a specific way or had a ritual or stalked somebody, haven't they? Give me your best!

My sister's friend Ron found his girlfriend's cat on top of their ceiling fan. My sister keeps finding frogs in the building where she works.

Really, it's kind of bizarre. We're all real people here, yet I'm never going to hear your voice or see your face, I could have entire relationships with people and never be in actual contact with them. It's just about the most unreal (yet most easily proven) form of communication we have these days. Are we using this as a crutch? Is it odd to suddenly realize what I'm doing? Is asking this stuff worth the points? Should I get out more often?

I don't really know what to do with my two kitties. They're brothers (both fixed at 6 months), and even though they're no longer kittens, they're still wild (I love them exactly how they are, though). One doesn't like the box, he'd rather pee on the carpet no matter what we try, and we've tried a lot. The other attacked my landlord. I mean he assaulted the poor man, who had to fend him off with a folding chair. My sister and I moved back home to save up and our kitties moved in with my friend (family wouldn't have them), who has a spare bedroom in a separate building than her residence, so it was perfect. We'd like to stay at home until we can get lots of money saved to buy a nice place where our kitties can destroy whatever and won't have to worry about landlords walking in, but we can't keep our cats in a room forever.

I had two wasps land in my hair. I felt something moving, so I poked it a few times... and got my first sting, right in the middle of my pointer finger. Then one of them stung my head, which hurt.

Any good stinging stories out there? Even lame ones, I don't care.
