  • Well pump running loudly...?

My well pump has recently starting running significantly louder than usual. The tank seems to be full. It kicks on and off fine, without extra noise and the pressure seems to keep fine. It just seems to be while it's running.

Any thoughts what the issue could be?

  • Need help with appropriate food list?

I asked this question last week, but didn't use the best phrasing, so re-asking.in hopes of more explanatory answers. :)

I am hosting a birthday party that will start at 7 pm. There will be a dessert table, beverages and BYOB. It will be a DJ/dancing type party. This is a themed, adult party - ages ranging from 20s - 70s

Since the party is at 7 pm, should I assume people will eat dinner before the party?

I had planned on serving light appetizers - will that be enough in addition to the dessert table? Too much with the dessert table?

I don't want the guests hungry, but also do not want to waste a bunch of food because no one eats it.

  • What type of food do I need for a birthday party?

The party is at 7 p.m.and a party atmosphere with dancing, DJ, etc. My plan was on some light appetizers. Would that be enough? Will people assume they should eat before they come? There will also be some booze and a dessert table full of goodies besides the light appetizers.

  • Is there a type of dress attire between dressy casual and semi-formal?

Trying to figure out how to word invitations. I would like guests to arrive in something dressier than they would wear to work but less than they would wear to a prom. I was going to use semi-formal, but thought that may be too dressy? Thoughts?

  • Enlarging photos help?

I took a few pictures with my Canon SD powershot camera that I would love blown up, but each time I try through a store that would print them for me, it says the size isn't recommended for that pic. Is there a certain mp or resolution the photo should be taken with to ensure I could blow it up larger than an 8x10 while retaining the photo's quality? Or can I modify the resolution of the photo myself after it's uploaded to my computer?

  • Team name suggestions?

There is a group of about 10 of us forming a team/VIP table for a breast cancer Zumbathon fundraiser. The atmosphere is going to be like a party with Zumba throughout the event. We came up with a few names, but are interested to see what other suggestions are. Our group is family/friends/coworkers, male and female and we will coordinate wardrobe with pink and black.

  • What is the name of this song?

I think it's a little bit of an older song. I don't know who sings it. The only lyrics I can remember are: My mother told me I'm a fool because the thing in life was you. And I love you, I love you, I love you. Those may not be the exact lyrics but pretty close.

  • Are there any youth hostels for people over the age of 30 but below 55?

I am looking to travel as much as I am able in the next several years, however most of my travel will probably be by myself more often than not. I thought a youth hostel would be the perfect answer to travelling solo but not be by my lonseome. My aunt and uncle belong to an elder hostel, but I wasn't sure if there was something like that available for someone like myself.

Are there age restraints on youth hostels? Any suggestions for legit and great youth hostels is appreciated as well. Thanks!

  • Revamping couch cushions?

I have a couch where my dog has destroyed all the cusions on it. It's a three seater with recliners on both ends. How easy or hard would it be to make new cushions for this couch rather than buying a whole new couch? I'd prefer not to buy one until I know it won't be destroyed again.

How would I go about changing the seats for this couch when the cushions don't just come out...they're are more a part of the couch...? Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

  • What is the appropriate time frame for birthday party invitations?

I'm planning a birthday party for someone in the middle of July. It's a night out on the town for friends which is a mixed crowd of ages, singles, married couples, married couples with kids and it's during the week. Is it appropriate to send a 'Save the Date' invite? If so, when should that be sent? If not, when should regular inviations be sent?

  • Nail bed lengths specific to breeds?

Do German Shorthaired Pointers tend to have longer nail beds than most other breeds? Everyone always thinks my dogs nails need to be cut because they look long but she just has long nail beds and if I cut shorter, she'll bleed. I was just curious if this was breed-specific or some dogs just have longer nail beds regardless of breed.

She is a mix, but the predominant breed is GSP (I would guess about 85% - 90%).

  • Who sings this country song?

I just heard this song on the way home from grocery shopping and I couldn't place who sings it. I think it's called 'I'll Pray For You'. The beginning talks about going to church and letting God deal with who you're mad at but to pray for them. Then the chorus is like I'll pray that a your brakes die down going down hill, a flower pot falls from a window sill, etc.

I almost had to pull over I was laughing so hard...Anyone knows who sings this?

  • Good leave-in conditioner..?

What is a good brand of leave-in conditioner I can get for color-treated hair. My hair guy told me I only need a leave in if I have a good shampoo. So I have the shampoo he recommended but he was out of the conditioner, so is there a brand I can buy in a store that would suffice?

  • Giving dogs raw bones?

What are the guidelines for giving dogs raw bones to chew on? Can it be from any animal and any bone? Should they only come from a butcher or can I give one to my dog from cleaning off a ham, etc? I heard they were good to give dogs but I don't want to just give my dog one without knowing the specifics.

    Thanks!

  • For the singers out here...?

What would it take, prize-wise for you to enter a karaoke contest? I am trying to organize a fundraiser for an NPO and am trying to get a feel for what would entice people that know they can sing into entering a contest. Would you pay a $5-$10 entry fee in order to win a great prize (like a couple hundred dollars in either cash or some gift card)? The idea is to either charge and entry fee or have the karaoke contest be part of some sort of sit down dinner where a fee is charged for the dinner/entertainment.

Also, if you've taken part in one before or attended one, what sort of aspects were you judged on? Just singing abilities or did they have different categories like most original performance, etc?

    Thanks!

  • Who sings this song?

Need the title and artist if anyone can help. All I know is the lyrics of the chorus go something like..

'Brandy, you're a good girl. What a fine wife you would be. But my life, my love and my lady is the sea...' ??

Heard it the other day and it's been driving me crazy.

  • Positive APBT or anti-BSL quotes?

I am making a design to put on products and such to sell that will benefit the non profit rescue group I work with.

I have a pic of the most adorable pit that someone will make into a sketch/drawing for me. I need a quote to go around the picture/design to make it complete.

I'm looking for anti-BSL quotes or any quotes that put pits and other 'bully breeds' in a good light.

    Any suggestions?
