  • How to express this in partial fractions?

Hi, I'm not sure how to express this in partial fractions:

    2x-1/(x+1)^2

I have to do it in the form A/(x+1) + B/(x+1)^2

This doesn't make any sense to me, I have tried countless times to do it, your help would be much appreciated! Thank you

  • How do you find the value of 'k' in this probability density function?

This is the question that I have:

X is a continuous random variable having the probability density function

    f(x) = k/x for 1≤x≤ 9

    f(x) = 0 elsewhere

    where k is a constant.

Giving your answers to 3 significant figures where appropriate, find the value of k

  • How do you solve the x-coordinate for this equation?

    y=(3x-1)^4

I cant seem to figure out how to obtain the x-coordinate from this. I know you must make y=0, but I don't know what to do after that!

  • Are these grades good enough to become a doctor?

I doubt now that I can be a doctor or even anything to do with medicine because of these GCSEs. They're not bad, but not excellent either, which is what you need in order to be accepted into medical school.

So here is what I got:

    French B

    History B

    Maths A*

    Science A

    Additional science A

    English lit A

    English language B

The problem with these results is that in some of them I was so close to getting an A or A*, like in history the first exam I got an A* but in the next one I got a D, so it averaged out into a B overall.

Also, for A levels, I'm taking bio, chem, maths and psychology. Are A levels more important than GCSEs?

    Thanks :)

  • Sisters, could you please answer this question for me?

    Salam,

This is quite personal, but here goes.

I'm a Muslim, and I want to pray, but I'm not sure if I finished my period yet. I only started a few months ago, so obviously my period will be irregular. Now, this month, i started my period on June 4th at around Zuhr time and I though it ended on 7th June Asr time. When I did ghusl and prayed Asr, I found that after, my period started again. Then it didn't come on the 8th (although there was little brown stuff) and today, on the 9th June I washed my hair again to do ghusl (because I thought my period ended) now, when I wanted to go to pray the Ast, I found a little but of really really light brown stuff, could this STILL be my period? My mum says that if it's after 5 days, then no, but because this is my 5th day (or 6th if you count 4th June as being one day) I'm not sure if I'm still on or not.

Could you please help me? Thanks :)

  • Should I pray my prayers early?

I am unable to pray the Isha tonight, since summer is getting closer and the times are getting later. Because I have school tomorrow I can't pray the Isha. So shall I pray it now with the maghrib or wake up later to pray it?

    4 AnswersRamadan9 years ago
  • Muslims only please :) what do I say in this prayer?

Hi, i live in the UK, and as you already know, summer is getting closer which means that the times for the prayers are getting later. Since I just prayed the maghrib at 8pm, shall I also pray the Isha too? Because it's at 10pm and I have school tomorrow so I have to go to sleep earlier than that. What do you say when you pray earlier? Is there anything specific you have to say to Allah before starting your prayer?

    Thanks :) Salam

  • MUSLIMS ONLY PLEASE :)?

Hi, this question is for Muslims only and other religious people. I'm not singling anyone out, but I just don't want to start another debate over here. If anyone else answers rudely, I will simply ignore it so you're just wasting your time :)

Ok back to the question: You know how it is said that the Qur'an was revealed 1400 years ago or something like that? Well I just wanted to know if that was true. Was it really revealed 14 centuries ago? What is the proof? By that I mean, is there an original Qur'an somewhere, in a museum or something? Thanks :)

  • Do I cleanse, exfoliate, tone then moisturise?

Hey, I recently bought a cleanser, toner, and a moisturiser for the first time, since my skin is getting really bad now. I have combination to normal type skin. And I don't wear make up btw.

So in the morning and at night, I cleanse, tone and moisturise, but I am aware that I shouldn't be exfoliating daily.

But when I do exfoliate, is it: cleanse, tone, exfoliate, then moisturise? Or is it cleanse, exfoliate, tone and then moisturise? Because right now I just cleansed, toned, exfoliated, and then moisturiser but I didn't see the point in toning if I was gonna exfoliate soon after. Can anyone help me on this also, do you know any good exfoliators? The one that I use is clean and clear morning energy, but it doesn't seem to be doing much.

Lastly, how can I get rid of my spots? Is cleansing, toning and moisturising twice a day enough?

    Thanks :)

  • Am I just a late developer?

Hey, I just turned 16 a month ago and I still haven't started my period yet! I went to the doctors when I was 15 and they said come back when you are 16. But I have yet to go back to them! I have been having vaginal discharge for about 1 or 2 years now, and my mum said that she got hers when she was about 14 or 15. Help me! Am I just a late developer? Or do I have something wrong with me?

Btw I'm not skinny I'm actually normal if not slightlyyyy on the chubby side. I also haven't fully developed my breasts yet.

    Thanks :)

  • 15 years old and no period yet! help :'(?

hi, im 15 years old and i have no period yet. let me give you some info about me that would help.

im 5ft 5, 149 pounds and im not active. (apart from walking to school everyday for a year now, if that helps) i haven't started my period yet, but i have been having vaginal discharge for about a year or so. my mum started hers when she was 14 or 15 years old. i have really small breasts, maybe like an AA or AAA! i have both armpit and pubic hair, i have been having them for probably 3 or 4 years now. im not thin at all, perhaps more chubby, but i have lost weight recently, but still chubby :P i have some spots for 1 year or so now. also i sometimes get cramps but then i realise it is a false alarm. i dont know what to do but im going to the doctors today. so can you please put me out of my misery and explain to me why i havent started yet? thanks :)

  • How to get rid of the spots of my t-zone and cheeks?

hi, so i recently got spots on my t-zone (i've had the ones of my cheeks for a while) and they just increased. i researched how to get rid of the spots using a 'natural' remedy and they said:

Step 1 Run a wash cloth under hot water

    Step 2 Wash your hands

Step 3 After you wash your face, get about 10 drops of lemon juice on your hands. this is your 'toner'

Step 4 Get 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of water and use this as your 'exfoliator'

Step 5 Last but not least, splash cold water on your face ( to close your pores)

i was wondering if this actually works, and if any of you guys have tried it, could you please give me feedback?

    thanks :)

  • Why do girls start vaginal discharge at puberty?

im a girl, and i am 15 years old. i havent gotten my period yet but i recently have been having vaginal discharge for about a year now. i also recently asked a question on whether vaginal discharge ALWAYS means you are getting your period, and i have found that it doesnt necessarily mean so. vaginal discharge is just a way of your vagina cleaning itself. well if that is the case, then why dont we have it from when we were young? why do we only start it at puberty?

    thanks :)

  • Does Vaginal Discharge always mean your going to get your period?

im 15 years old, havent started my periods yet, but have been having vaginal discharge for about a year now. i was just wondering if vaginal discharge is actually a sign that you are going to get your period. im constantly wondering when i will get my period! my mum was also a late bloomer - she started at the age of 14/15 years. i havent got much boobs either- they practically havent grown much since year 5! i also have a twin sister who got hers at 12, but we are not identical.

so please, do i have a problem? does vaginal discharge necessarily mean period?
