  • Is this girl trying to give me signals?

Ok here's the situation. I work at loss prevention (uniformed security) at a store as my part time job. There is a girl there who has recently started (she's working in clothing)and I'm trying to figure out if she dropping hints. Here are the things that make me wonder:

    1) When I am walking the store she will always say hi to me, even if I am several paces away and walking away from her she will call me by name in hi "happy" tone of voice. I have not seen her do this with other employees.

    2) When she is away from the other co-workers she tries to have more drawn out conversations with me. She talks to other employees too though. I am currently in a relationship but having some troubles (working really hard at them) She has asked me on a couple of different occasions (out of the blue I might add) how my relationship is going.

    3) During our evening meetings she has come up to me and stood close (within a foot) to me on occasion.

    4) She has ran up to me on a few occasions (sometimes half way across clothing) asking me what she can do for us (loss prevention). They are usually very general and unimportant questions.

    5) I have left he messages on facebook (just general whats up stuff nothing bad or disloyal i do this with other employees too) but she almost never responds. She's never on there much anyway.

I'm only asking this because I need to know if this is an issue I need to address with her because I'm in a relationship and working very hard at making it work. Also our policy does not allow me to hang out with anyone (let alone date) outside of my department. I don't think she is trying to find out any of our "secrets." I just need to know if this is an issue I need to address. Any input would be appreciated.

  • Ruger vs Rossi revolver for defense?

I'm looking a getting a 357 revolver for home defense. I've been looking at the ruger gp100 for quite some time now. However, I have recently been hearing about the rossi line of revolvers. I know that ruger will be better quality but is rossi still a good choice? Are they reliable? Can they hold up in less than ideal conditions?

  • Need help picking a "trunk gun"?

Hi I getting a trunk gun for my car. Here are some of the ideas that I have:

Kel Tec Sub 2000, Kel Tec Sub 16c, Hi Point Carbine, 12 gauge Shotgun.

I'm looking for something low cost (<$400), decently accurate, reliable, decent stopping power, compact.

I have considered an SKS but i just don't like the idea of a free floating firing pin and in order to convert it I have to jump through the 922r hoops.

Any experience, advice or opinions are welcome but please explain your position. Thanks!

  • Which pocket .380 pistol should i buy?

Hi i about to purchase a ccw gun for the summer. I've decided that i want to get a small .380 that i can carry in my pocket I'm trying to decide between the Ruger LCP and the Taurus TCP. Here are some of my thought about both guns.

    Taurus TCP

    Pros:

Slide locks back after the last shot

    Lifetime warranty

    Better sights than the LCP

    Cons:

Its a Taurus (Not to say that they're a bad company, They're just not my all time favorite)

Magazine design is a little strange

    Ruger LCP

    Pros:

Feels a little better in my hand that the Taurus

Can find accessories and holsters everywhere

    Cons:

Slide does not lock back after the last shot

Heard rumors that "death gripping" the gun can cause you to accidentally hit the magazine release.

If anyone can offer some input I would really appreciate it. I've pretty much ruled out the Kel Tec P3AT because i think i would be happier with either the ruger or the taurus. I've also ruled out the SIG because of the price and the SW Bodyguard because ive heard of problems with the laser and for the price they're asking i can get the ruger or the taurus and just get an aftermarket laser. Anyway if anyone could help me out on this I appreciatetly appreicate it.

  • Is there an arsenal license law restricting the amount of guns and ammo you can have?

I'm a criminal justice major and in one of my classes we had a discussion on if there is a limit on the amount of firearms and ammo you can have. I know there was some legislation floating around a few years a go that required you to get an arsenal license if you own more that 20 firearms and/or over 1000 rounds of ammo. Did that ever pass? Are there any real restrictions on the amount of firearms/ammo that you can own?

  • Which is more accurate a Smith and Wesson M&P compact or SD?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new Smith and Wesson SD? I know it's basically and improved Sigma and is about the same size as Glock 19/23 so it can be concealed. How does it stack up against a M&P compact? Which gun is more accurate?

  • Is a Sig Sauer sp2022 easy to conceal?

Hi, I was at my local gun shop looking for a carry gun when I noticed the Sig sp2022. The price was good and all the reviews that I've seen have been outstanding. Also it is about the same size as a Glock 19/23 (just a little bigger but not much). My question is is this a good gun for concealed carry? I realize that any gun can be concealed if you really want to, but the issue is how uncomfortable is it to do so? I have concealed a full size 1911 in the past but I was always worried about it printing or part of the gun becoming exposed accidentally. Also the weight became an issue after a few hours. On the other hand i don't want a gun that's really small because I already have a S&W snub nose for that. Is there anyone who currently carries or has carried this gun in the past? If so how did it work for you?

  • Smith and Wesson Sigma Accuracy?

Hi, I'm CCW permit holder and I'm thinking about getting a Sigma (haven't decided between 9mm of 40 yet). I've heard some great reviews coming from the newest generation and the prices is too good to ignore. The only thing im concerned about it accuracy. From what i understand accuracy is where the sigma falls short. I know that in self defense situations you are usually with in a few feet from your target. Honestly I'm not hoping to hit quarters at 25 yards, but i want to know that i won't have to worry about some random shot hitting an innocent bystander. can anyone give me an idea of how accurate they are?

  • Are Missouri Department of Corrections officers allowed to carry a weapon off duty?

Hi, I was in one of my criminal justices classes the other day and we got to talking about the differences between corrections officers and police officers. One of the things we discussed was if corrections officers in missouri are allowed to carry a concealed weapon off duty. I know that police officers are allowed to pretty much carry a concealed firearm anywhere including government buildings. Do corrections officers have the same right? Also are they allowed access to firearms that are usually restricted to law enforcement?

  • Does going through the police academy boost your resume?

I'm currently finishing my Criminal Justice Degree and working at Target in Assets Protection. Today my neighbor (who is a police officer) offered to sponsor me if i decided to attend the police academy. I've thought long and hard about it and I don't think I want t be a police officer. Although I would really enjoy the job I'm afraid of the impact it would have on my future family. However, I have been researching private/corporate security jobs and have heard that they can be a little more family friendly. The pay is usually better too. Also my boss at target has asked if I would be interested in moving up in the company someday. My question is, would going through the academy increase my chances for getting hired or for a promotion. I would hate to turn down an offer like that, but i really don't want him to waste the money if its not gonna do anything.

  • Buying a gun, NICS 4473?

I live in missouri where gun registration is not required. When I buy a gun from a dealer I fill out the 4473 form from NICS. Is this simply a background check or does this actually tie my name to the gun?

  • trading for a ruger gp 100?

I have a Taurus PT92 9mm that ive been trying to sell for about a month now. I took it to the local gun shop today and tried to see if i could get a trade in. they told me that i would be better selling it outright because they've had them in the past and they had to almost give them away after thy sat there for a few months. He told me that i might be able to get $325 out of it. Just a little bit a go i received an offer from someone offering to trade me for a Ruger gp 100 .357 mag. it has a 4 in barrel Stainless finish and a bobbed hammer. It looks like it is a little scuffed up but not in too bad of shape. Is this a good trade? Would i have better luck selling this gun than i did with my taurus? If so how much should i expect to get?

  • which ak should I buy AK-47 or AK-74?

I am about to buy another AK and I was debating about buying an ak-74 (5.45x39). I already have an ak and an sks chambered for the 7.62x39 and ive heard that the 5.45 is much more fun to shoot. The problem is that there doesnt seem to be as much 5.45 ammo out there. You can buy it online really cheap but not many stores or gunshows for that matter seem to have it. I know that the 7.62 will pretty much be around forever but what about the 5.45? is it simply a passing fad or will the supply grow enough to rival the 7.62?

  • Yugo M70 (AK-47) handguard problem.?

I recently Purchased a Yugo M70 under-folder with the black plastic handguards. This week i finally got a chance to go to the range and try it out. My girlfriend and I each fired a 40 round magazine (total of 80 shots). We used Russian Brown Bear ammo and waited 3 to 5 seconds between shots. After we had finished the handguard had become so hot that I could not handel it and put it back on the rack.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anyway i can reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the handguard?

  • Building an AR-15: Free Float hand guard?

I'm building an AR-15 and i was wondering is it really necessary to have a free float hand guard?I know that a non free float hand guard can cause some accuracy problems but I'm mainly gonna be using if for plinking and home defense not any competition shooting or hunting. So is it really worth the extra money to get a free float hand guard or can i get by with a standard two piece?
