I have enought hickory tree's to make a small log cabin .thinking about 12' X20' has any one built their own cabin from green logs ?? if so how did you debark the logs ?? the logs is about 8 inches in dia and about 20 to 30 feet long.the logs has to be debarked because the bark hold moisture and bugs under the bark' also dried the logs will last many years .some hundred of year's. I have some draw knives . just trying to find an easier way

I found an antique snatch block and the wood has rotted away . but all the metal only has surface rust .I got metal cleaned up and painted . now for the wood I got it all cut and fitted to the steel . now what is the best wood preserver to keep it from damaging the wood again. I tried thompsom water seal . but I dont know it that will soak into the wood.

my daughter bought me a new computer and she had some one else to set it up for me . he had installed norton virus protection . it has been some where about year ago. and now I get a little window poping up saying norton is fixing problem but I let it run for hours then find out it is locked up . I have to use alt control delete to get it off the screen. what's going on ? or how do I fix it.she don't know if he installed a sample or if it was paid for . I also have A V G it's running perfectly. should I just uninstall norton ?
