  • ¿Hispanohablantes, ¡ayduden me por favor!?

Hola. Estoy aprendiendo español y he querido saber algo por un tiempo muy largo: ¿Qué dicen ustedes mas frecuentemente? ¿Bananas o plátanos? Es que los nombres de fruta me confunden mucho porque yo oigo que los dos están dichos pero quiero estar seguro en mi español. Sé que es una pregunta muy extraña. También si podrían darme una lista de fruta y otras comidas sería muy agradecido.

  • For anybody that speaks Telugu?

    Hello.

Omprakash, a volunteer organization, is creating a children's book to raise money to fund the construction of a library in rural India. The book is about the mobile library, a rustic bus, and its daily adventures while bringing the children new books. We need a name for the bus, perhaps something "cutesy" in Telugu, the local dialect. Preferably, the name will describe the bus on some way.

  • Why do conservative Americans throw the word "socialist" around like it's a swear word?

Many Americans say socialist to make others fear something that they themselves don't understand. I say this because of the health care bill smashing done by Fox. I can bet that none of these doomsdayers have never even been to Canada for health care, so they can't make an honest assertion about the quality or speed of it.

  • Who is the artist behind Jude's sketches in Across the Universe?

I remember reading that it wasn't Jim Sturgess, obviously, but another artist who drew ALL of the artwork for Across the Universe. Please don't say that it was John Lennon who drew the Just Passing Through piece, because I really don't think that is true.

    Thanks in advance =]

  • I need to know the term used for this photoshop technique?

I have no idea how to do it. It's okay, you don't have to tell me how. I just need to know what it's called so that I can google it.

    Okay, here's a description:

You take an image and place it over another, however the overlayed image is morphed to fit the background image.

Do you know? If not, I added an image to help you visualize it.

  • Vegetarian Thanksgiving Etiquette?

Would it be rude to my grandma the rest of my extended family if I brought my own dishes (sides) to Thanksgiving dinner? My mom and dad are cool with me being vegetarian and do a lot for me, but my grandmother tends to forget that little tid bit about me. Is it okay for me to bring a tofurkey roast and vegan sweet potatoes, or is it against all of the rules of etiquette?

    Thanks for any answers. =]

  • Am I double pointed knitting correctly?

I have just started my very first double pointed knitting project!! I'm excited that I'm going to create my very own iPhone cozy. =] I'm using a four needle set (three that hold the stitches and one to work with) and I just wanted to know, is it normal to knit stockinette with circular knitting (especially with double pointed needles instead of two circular needles)? I started doing my first few rows and I noticed that I was knitting stockinette without even purling every other row. Is that the norm with this style of knitting or did I do something wrong, like twist my stitches by accident?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. =]

  • A question regarding suffixes in Spanish?

How would you conjugate (is that the right word for this situation?) the -or ending like doctor , conductor, and traductor for the female form? Would you just add an 'a' to the ending like trabajador and trabajadora?

  • When do I use the subjunctive mood in Spanish?

I've been learning Spanish for three years now and that mood(tense?) has confused me to no end. I don't even know it's equivalent in English. I mean, I know that I use it in every day speech, but I don't recognize it when I do or even when I'm reading it. Please help if you can.

And can you also list the verb forms if you know them.

    Much obliged,

    -Drew

  • Can you translate this from english to japanese?

I want to say "I love you more than words can say." Its toward a boy my age if that matters. Also, can you provide it with furigana or just a separate sentence with only hiragana. I'm not very literate in kanji.
